I dunno if I explaind how really remote/private this spot is. Seeing that old guy was really a fluke. I've been going there since I was pretty young and never seen anyone there. Yes, there is a members only entrance way way way up the other side, but thats all there is publically. The distance between the pond and my spot(s) is decent, and through some heavy woods too. .not something your everyday hiker would bother with..
I don't think you were oversteppin at all man!
