Ouch! My Sweet Tooth hurts!

Hey folks! I am back again for one of those grow-shows. So far I have come to the conclusion that I love to document my grows and this will be no exception to that rule.

On the menu is Sweet Tooth v. Barney's Farm. When I bought this pack from the breeder everybody was harping "Get SWT#3!" Nobody could tell me a damn thing about Barney's Farms. With no luck on finding SWT#3 and no information about Barney's Farms that would make me a pioneer in this area. Time to forge ahead!

I just dropped these two beans today. Hopefully within the next day or two they'll pop and be in the soil. Which reminds me this will be an all soil grow under CFLs. If you're saying to yourself "Bah! MJ BLASPHEMY! CFLs are a joke. I'm not going to read this anymore because this joker isn't using an HPS." First off, **** yourself. Second off here are my past results under CFLS

Since then I've had a bit more experience which resulted in this plant right here:

So don't discount me because of my choice of lighting. It works and it's cheap. That being said I promise the best under the CFLs and a good show to boot.

Stay tuned!

hey man, could you post some pics of the SWT before flowering? I'm growing out some very good bagseeds and one plant is supposed to be sweet tooth, the leaves look very much like yours.

Great looking girls there, get back with a smoke report!!

edit: oh nevermind, I thought those pics were of the SWT lol. Good luck with that shit dude, I'll be checking back!!

Hey Budless, another thread I'm aboard. Agree with you 100% on the CFL's, so much in fact that I'm doing my own CFL grow. Both you and Zeus have me inspired to try it out. Never had that strain myself, but I too have seem a lot of people on here growing out the ST#3, I may have to get me some to try too :) .... good luck bro I know you'll do them beans justice.

InNvBoarder: I cannot wait to see the flowers on these plants. I have both my fingers crossed in hopes of getting a purple phenotype from these babies! Come on! Daddy needs a new color of weed to smoke! Don't let me down! I hope what you said about the high holds true to the name. I'm sure it will :p
SirSmokalot: Thank you! Check back to see these babies flourish before your eyes!
Black Ra1n: /Homer "Mmmm.... CFLs..." /Homer. I like the CFLs for so many different reasons. In small spaces they're prime for their low heat output and cheap price. I think Red_Greenery argues the case that up until about 150 Watts(Might be 200) CFLs are your best bet. Beyond that you would benefit from an HPS moreso than CFLs. I run 240 Watts at the peak of my flowering and so far it has worked fine for me.
D Rock: Thanks you!
master shake: I'll definitely have a smoke report up in the future. I am pretty bad about harvesting my weed then being extremely high for a week and not updating because of it. Pester me in thread and I'll definitely put one up.

Howdy, I think i'll be pulling up a chair for this one, :lurk: nothing wrong w/ CFLs. Wern't fluoroscents all they had to grow pot in the 60's and 70's, but I think those were fluoro tubes. Good luck to ya!

I brought a new pipe into my glass family today. I lost my very first hand pipe I ever owned recently, so I decided to replace it.

I'm not really sure what day this is. Probably 2 or 3. Either way these little ones are pretty fast as far as I'm concerned. I hope they keep this rate of growth through flowering. *crosses fingers for purple pheno* >.<

So far these seedlings have been under 52 watts worth of lighting. I just added a 42 watt bulb to the mix. Now they're under a total of 94 watts of CFLs. They've about 2 or 3 inches away from the *well vented* light. Do you guys think that might be a little too much for seedlings to handle?

I think they will be fine. I used to veg seedlings under 400 hps and they were fine. Now my veg cab has around 100 of cfl's no problems at all. Grow on bro!

looks great and those first plants from the cfls were ****in awsome. Im a fellow cfler and i see higher and higher yields with these things. You do some good work cant wait to see this one finish. Just like mine in a few days.

Here are my babies. One of them is limp right now and I am unsure why. I figured it would either be from over watering or under watering. I only water when the soil is completely dry which tends to be every 2 or 3 days. The one that is limp doesn't seem to have a strong enough root structure to hold itself up. I hope he or she holds on for dear life. I need that one!

Oh yeah, I forgot after what point can you start feeding them nutes?

Looks like youre off to a good start. That seedling could be going limp for a number of reasons but most likely due to underwatering or a weak stem. She looks like she has a weak stem from the pics so I would prop her up with something like a toothpick or twig. Also a light breeze or a fan on low directed at the plants will help strengthen the stems.
As far as feeding, giving a young plant like that nutes is probably a bad idea because their roots generally arent robust enough to handle anything except moisture and the small amounts of nutrients it gets from the soil. Btw what soil are you using? So I would hold off on the nutes for at least another week or so and then only give them about 1/4 strength the recommended dosage just to see how much they can handle.
Good luck... Ill be watching. :lurk:
