Tutorial Organics for Beginners

BurnOne this thread is great it has inspired me to give organic a try, even though this will be my first grow.
First off, where should I go to find the correct kind of molasses?
Second, what kind of coco should be used? The coco coir brick kind that you break apart with a knife and expands in water, or pre-expanded coir?

hi i will be using promix bx and a little more perlite.
I have AN hydro nutes, i was going to use them every other watering at full strength.
What do you guys recomend for using the micro, grow, and bloom hydro nutes in soil

i am on a continuous cycle so it gives me a chance to experiment with something different every week.
i am very pleased to have finally found a high nitrogen bat guano supplier un the uk. so this time i'm going to try the "Bongaloid's Guano Mix".
i am going to be using LC’s Soiless Mix #1 as my soiless mix again,
5 parts Coir
3 parts perlite
2 parts wormcastings
garden lime which is screened limestone @ 2 tablespoons per gallon or 1 cup per cubic foot of the soiless mix. (my old growing friend tells me this is dolomite lime, but i am not so sure. but it was the only lime i can find in any of the garden centres near me).
i am now using R.O. water because the water in my area is really terrible quality.
RECIPE #2
Bongaloid's Guano Mix.
Use all these items combined with one gallon of soil mix.
1/3C hi N Guano (N8 P1 K1) (with these NPK values i wonder if these were
1/2C hi P Guano (N6 P15 K3) still suitable in these amount)
1TBS Kelp Meal
i still cannot get any Jersey Greensand. can i replace this with something?
so will i still have to mix my ferts and soiless mix, wet and leave two weeks if i am not using bone meal, which obviously needs time to break down?
so you were saying with recipe #1, that it was not suitable for seedlings, but would be ok for rooted cuttings. i wondered if this was a suitable mix to pot plants that are just going to be in veg stage in it. i pot my plants twice from cuttings, i pot the cuttings up then grow them in veg stage for 2 weeks, then i re pot them into a bigger pot and put them straight in the flowering room.
would there be a better mix for me to use to pot them to veg in?
i think thats about it, i'd quite like to stick with this one if i get good results.

Any coir can be used. Just make sure it has a very low salt content.

Don't worry about the greensand.
The reason you don't need to feed seedlings is because they already have food on board. The first two round leaves feed the plant. After about two weeks, they begin to yellow and fall off. After that, the plant will need to be fed.
LC's mixes contain almost no "food". So, all plants except young seedlings will have to be fed.

i have "granular" dolomite lime -- it's called "Dolomite 10 AG" -- mfg by Chemical Lime Co. in Salinas. Is "organic."
the largest particle size = fine sand.
The vendor also has "Dolomite 65 AG" powdered. it's not "organic."
I think i need the powdered, yeah?

Pellets leave bigger pockets of lime in the soil, it can work but personally I would powder it.

I don't know the prices where you are. There's no need to buy them anyway. Pro Mix either. Use plain old Canadian Peat...e20sm0ke said:

hey bro what do you recommend mixing all of this in? also is there a certain measuring device i could pickup at home depot/walmart while im there. im going tonight
so i had a lil bit of a journey. went to home depot they didnt have much all for perlite they had was miracle grow company so i didnt get it same with peat moss so i went to lowes and they had the good peat moss so i got some of that. is the miracle grow peat moss bad? i couldnt find perlite that wasnt miracle grow at any of these 3 places. do you recommend going to a nursery
also at one point do i add the bone kelp and blood meal all in.. and can i use this for germinating the seeds
