I'm making a switch to organic too.. Or back to it :) But I'm trying to do more on the coco side.. Something 70/30 coco/soil . Cannot get any worm castings at the moment here in Finland and my own compost is in ice :) . So I'm using some soil to get the microbes working better :) .

BTW all the pics I try to get bigger, throw me in some sort of insert pic page...

Rock on man!

Compost from kitchen scraps is a good way to add microbes and better if you are an expert compost maker. I use worm castings from a bag because I'm not an expert compost maker yet. I used to be a Fox Farm and Botanicare user until I made the switch to reusing my soil and feeding the soil. I did a kitchen scrap compost bin last year and it was really good. I would freeze them and when I had about a gallon of chopped up scraps I would put it out and lay a layer of yard clippings on top and I would turn it over a few days later.

Oh I forgot...I was going to say that I have seen people have a worm bin in their kitchen and it didn't smell bad at all and they had a list of what you should throw in there. I want to try it because it seems simple and I don't have to worry about going outside to my bins. I live in an almost tropical location so I have the opposite problem. It's too hot in the summer and the compost bin attracts so many critters it's not too fun getting 100 bites turning the compost over. I know you guys have bigger and badder mosquitoes far up north in the summer but tropical mosquitoes are like the United States Air Force. They outnumber you, they are armed with deadly weapons, they use highly advanced tactics and are amazingly efficient.

:D
Been living in thailand before and the mosquitos are equally bad... :) Only smaller and don't make any sound so alot more difficult to detect :) .

I been having wormbin before and gonna make one asap when got some time...And WORMS :D Just moved so everything is still bit out of control :D.

Great thread man! :)

Mosquitoes here use tactics. One bites you on the arm and when you go to swat it 20 of them swarm your other arm and get a bite in before you figure out what just happened.
