I had 1000 plants outdoors every year running huge yields with red stems and petioles. I figured at that point that it just was.

i agree it 'just is' in many cases. red stems etc is a common trait.

geeeez going through some of the old stuff... The F13 is a true champ and one of my all time favorites.

I would scrap anything out of my garden for a good cut.

ok, im still bangin' on about the red stems/petioles/veins
here is my blueberry cut in healthy veg, stems and petioles mostly green, veins green
picture.php

here it is starting to get hungry - petioles gone red, tiny bit of red in the veins
picture.php

and a few days later the stems and petioles are dark purple and the red color has moved down the veins even further

not much use if you are dealing with huge populations of seed plants, but for the cuts you run over and over that do this - it can be a useful indicator of the plant needing repotting or the soil becoming low on food.

hey vapor, sorry for the late reply. its folar residue, you can see from the drip marks on the smaller leaflets. luckily i have never seen PM on my cannabis plants - something i am very grateful for because it sounds like a nightmare.

anyway, just to round off this set of photos, i decided to make a mother plant out of the Blueberry plant pictured above. i pruned, root-pruned it and repotted it into fresh soil.
as you can see the new growth is pure green, as are the new petioles and leaf veins.
sorry to those who got their knickers in a twist about this subject :)

there is so much PM out this way it is tricky

I seem to have mine under control for the last month or so thank goodness.

that will be the last time I bring a new cut in without a serious dip of some sort

A couple of pic's,1st is hey dave an 2nd is sunshine daydream.
The hey dave is 1 of the best smelling plants i've grown, has a citrusy, kushy smell that is lovely.
The sunshine daydream is 1 of the foulest i've smelled, smells of rancid butter and fart spray.

Wow, that sounds like a keeper, LOL
Am smoking some of her at the moment, would def been worthy of keeping!Actually tastes nice,is buttery, skunky with some black pepper.

What i really like about her is she actually helps with nerve pain, have tried many strains that say they help it but none never have, well that's not exactly right but the few others that have helped only help by knocking me out. This has a uppy, wide awake, quite euphoric buzz that totally takes my mind away from the pain.

Getting interesting in my garden. Haven't even soil drench fed these guys at all this season, and don't think I will. Applied ACT's and foliars, but no soil drench.

could red stems (which I find more often indoors) be attributed to the fact that HPS have more red spectrum ?

i find the same plant outdoor with the spectrum from the sun does not exhibit red stems as often
