Make one big order for lights, fans, and nutes with your credit card - try calling the place you would order online from and see if they will cut you a break (discount) for a large order, and have it shipped to your house since you will not be growing there.
Don't think you are doing anything wrong by growing herb. It may not be legal, but it is not wrong.

I order stuff online all the time and never have any issue with DEA busting down my door. All the places ship it discretely regardless of the intended purpose. All the equipment is 100% legal.

Now seeds on the other hand well I send those to other places that cannot be connected to my name.

First off...you need to go out to Aurora or South Denver, find yourself some illegal immigrants. Find out where they got their state IDs and get one for yourself.
Then, you can start opening up accounts in that name...
Be sure to wear lots of plain colors when going into the bank...A hat, fake mustache, fake nose...don't skimp here, be liberal.
Then you can rent a house to have all the stuff shipped to your new name and address. Put it in a rented van, and drive to the new location.
Be sure you are wearing gloves, 'cause after, you are going to petrol bomb the truck (just like the Ambulance in 'Heat').
Now, you gotta go back to little Mexico and tie up some loose ends. Wink, wink.
I know it sounds like a lot, but sometimes you gotta just go for it.

Or you could go in person to one of the bigger grow stores in the state and pay cash. I certainly don't think that anyone in there will give a shit about your 3k worth of stuff, when they are buying just a little more.
If you really want to cut down your 'there' time, then call ahead and have them put together your order. Any good store in the state that is worth their shit, will normally be happy to be called ahead of time with your order (it tends to make it easier on them). They tend to get Astronaut syndrome...most of your time spent not doing shit, the least spent doing way to much shit.

I know the FBI surveilled one store and followed the purchasers back to their house, and partly used that as reason to search. Of course I think that the FBI was onto these guys before hand and just used the hydrostore to throw people off. Becasue these guys didn't have cards, but they did have a shit load of weed, coke and guns (and recently purchased Hydro gear).
So, if you're not doing that, then you should be all right.

Have a friend rent a truck/van, borrow it & goto the grow store and buy all your shit cash while wearing sunglasses and a hat. (bandaids or clear tape over finger tips is optional to prevent fingerprints) Be polite and discrete, don't make up a big story about growing veggies because they have heard that crap before and it just confirms you are a pot grower. Spend as little time in the store as possible, get in and get out. On the way home drive around and do all kinds of crazy shit like wrong turns and getting off and back on the highway to make absolutely sure you don't get followed back. Unload the shit at night if outside, but preferably in a garage so nobody can see you and all your boxes, etc. It's going to be stressful and give you some anxiety for a day but once it's all done and squared away you will be good for awhile. Make sure to buy extra's of anything that can (and will) break at the least expected time like exhaust blowers and bulbs. Above all just be safe and good luck!

Really, you are focusing on the wrong thing.

If you are about to spend 3k. You should be focusing on where will you get the best deal AND service (because this shit breaks regularly, fresh out of the box...demand is high, and production gets rushed).
Who is going to be giving you discounts for repeat business? I have a friend that has gone to Boulder Hydroponics Center (bhocenter.com) for years, spent thousands of dollars and not gotten shit for deals. So he started making a drive and going to the place I go.
Gear is a commodity, treat it as such. Internet can be cheaper, but then if it breaks there are shipping costs and delay costs.
If you are running to the store more often for certain things then you may want to go to one that is closer.
You can split up the order, but there is usually some limit before you get the good discounts. Ask the shop what you should keep your purchases under. Many places will say keep it under 5k cash at one time, but every place is different. This shit is expensive, there are plenty of people that pay for huge orders (ones bigger than you would ever dare) via bank account/credit card...established large growers and cooperatives (probably more along the line of what Agent Sweeting was talking about, they just had to take this Bartowski guy down becuase he was provoking them).

The fact is, if you get followed home, they are going to think the grow is at YOUR house. Unless they sit around (minutes, hours, days) until your friend picks up the shit. They will lose the trail there without additional surveilance (wiretaps, background checks...ect, ect.). You don't sound like some hardcore cokedealer, so I think as long as you don't give 9news an expose on how to enter a grow shop and purchase the correct gear for your home MMJ setup, then you should be alright.

Unless they have traced this whole conversation back to your computer??????

You're tellin' me... when the FBI raided the first dispensary in Denver I saw it on the news while I just got done taking knife hits of hash for the last hour or two. 15 seconds later I was in my basement chopping down 4 foot plants thinking "Those bastards are coming for everyone in Colorado!"

Obviously an hour later after the last bag of trash was gone I realized I was out of my mind and really fucked up. Yeah, try explaining that one to your patients. "So I chopped down all your meds because my imagination took a hold of me..." Got to pay for meds out of my pocket that month.

around here the poopoo camps out in the back of the parkinglot, mixed in with the 300other cars, so when i roll in there snooping through bonoculars. im not down with them getting my lic plate.

Craigslist is your friend. Lots of people give up after a grow or two for many reasons. Anonymous cash. Get the equipment to first destination pile it up with some tomato seeds on top and let sit for a week or two. Then transport to final destination piecemeal as needed.
The easiest way for them to catch you is to check for electric spikes at the address the items were shipped to with a probable cause warrant. Peace

Get your med card. Carry it with you when to your local hydro stores. If you want to break up your order do so at the different shops around town. A med card is the perfect cover for acquiring supplies for a non medical grow.

If you order online you may have to deal with the DEA or other federal agency that regard MJ as a crime. The pigs you're worrying about are locals who have to acknowledge your state's MMJ laws. The choice not to order online should have been an obvious one.
