👋 Willy … That’s a heck of a saw tooth leaf!
Hahaha
It was an absurd thing, sometimes the serrations were slightly bent upwards, increasing the effect...
The scent of that plant was really spectacular, if you take a Sicilian orange in your hands and smell it, you get exactly that scent...
@mexcurandero420
I remember in Switzerland cali-o buds, quite dense, fragrant, with a lot of hairs red - copper...
Not strong like superskunk or others skunk-type, but perfect for daytime and moments with friends...
Lot of good memories....

Disclaimer: This variety offers unsurpassed quality in terms of aroma, taste and effect. A small percentage of the plants can develop male flowers, which is expressed most heavily when plants suffer from severe stress. It is advised to check your plants thoroughly during flowering and act immediately before the male flowers open and pollinate the other plants. (Orange Bud Description DP)

(5 gallon container and watered same as others that were stable, only thought is some skunks are root bound sensitive 🤷‍♂️ outdoors would be better maybe )
Did have a light leak incident...

* See alot of old heads and experienced growers in this thread and a LATE herm dont really bother me but thought id add the note, for those that do care

For those that dont care some 12"+ colas coming up :plant grow:
Chop dry and cure aint too far off ;) Be sure to get some dry photos impressions smoke reports up :huggg:

unfortunately the dried buds had a more skunky, sweaty taste....
Bless you for adding this stuff 🙏
"Pure grapefruit mercaptan, or citrus-derived oils rich in grapefruit mercaptan, are sometimes used in perfumery and the flavor industry to impart citrus aromas and flavors. However, both industries actively seek substitutes for grapefruit mercaptans for use as a grapefruit flavorant, since its decomposition products are often highly disagreeable to the human sense of smell."

I knew what I was looking for in these the Orange line and Cali-o with the resultant S1's will maybe travel to the train thread for use in an old recipe
The orange oil is anazing and the lemon skunks...

def citrus is the taste we want from Orange Bud, the best tasting ones I had were grown in Florida (tasted just like FL oranges)
Im always intrigued by the fine sweet corn and watermelons that come from the sand much better tasting than clay grown counterparts

This herm was a S1 of AE77 from above that said this is in no a smear on the line its excellent, one of the best of many (one would be unwise to disregard it)
CSI is a fine distributor a little slow on replies (likely due to volume and available time...)but generous and honest IMO

Next up is Dutch Passion Orange will do a side by side and any others anyone wants to bring to the thread are welcome
Alot of people say their better as hybrids (welcomed also) I wanted the the clone S1s and the regular line before I compare it to my 80s memories
Best >>> :huggg:

Orange and grapefruit have a very similar flava profile but im under the impression cali orange or orange skunk is the oldest line and people have selected phenos i.e tangie and bred with her in fact a few clone onlys have been selected.from that lineage then bred outwards think orange velvet was another 1 but yh cali orange is your lineage..

dunno why but the orange line is also known to be hermie not sure why tho but deffo Something to watch out for

But if your out breeding her your only going on 1 of these directions..

Cali orange x haze or cali orange x kush or cali orange x skunk..

Tangie x ghost.train haze was a good cross a few years back but again tangie is a clone of cali orange and i also rate crocketts farm sour tangie which is tangie x sour d..

Tangerine Dream (looks like orange bud?)

breed by Plantamaster Seeds

Barney told me Tangie 🤷‍♂️ Tangerine Dream »»» G-13 x (G-13 x Nevilles Haze)
You know my memory aint so good so dont wanna mislead anyone ... just disregard that

Plantamaster Seeds Description

Tangerine Dream was bred breeders Barney's Farm by triple crossing (G13 X Neville's A5 Haze) x G13. Now about this few people remember, but this cannabis strain was named after the famous past of the musical group "Tangerine Dream", the staff of which this is the very sort of respect. We, too, for many years continue to appreciate this sort, and we can safely say that he's one of the best social, creative types and antidepressants.

We respected & repeated the genetic experiments of Barney's and are happy to share with you this feminizied result, in which we have brought the level of THC to 25%, and tried to cover the atmosphere of the 80s.

Retaining lovely sweet, fruity-citrus scent, we were able to supplement it with new taste. SATIVA predominance provides an excellent cerebral HIGH, which is replaced by a relaxing corporal effect within a few hours.

The plant can reach a height of 1.5 - 1.9 meters and thus strongly branching.

Flowering Time: 10-11 Weeks
Harvest: end of october
Height: medium
Harvest: 500 gr/m2
THC: 25%

Crockett's Tangie »»» Cali-O x Skunk

Basic infos

Crockett's Tangie is an mostly sativa from Crockett Family Farms and can be cultivated indoors and outdoors (Where the plants will need a flowering time of ±67 days) Crockett Family Farms's Crockett's Tangie is/was never available as feminized seeds.

Crockett Family Farms Description

70% Sativa 30% Indica
9-10 wk flowering
Yield 450-500g m2

Tangie has been on the farm for over a decade, its lineage dates back to the mid 90's. Easily one of the most fragrant flowers I have ever come across. Tastes and smells like the fruit!! Tangie has won over twenty awards in two years. Very reliable indoors and out. Expect big yield outdoors in mid October, and indoor 9-10 wks.

Basic infos

Tangie is an mostly sativa from DNA Genetics Seeds and can be cultivated indoors and outdoors (Where the plants will need a flowering time of ±67 days) DNA Genetics Seeds's Tangie also available as feminized seeds.

DNA Genetics Seeds Description

DNA has done it again! Just when you thought it was only KUSH and Kush crosses DNA brings The Tangie (aka) (Tangerine Dream from 1995) She has been around for many years now, but for many more she was hidden, until our good friend Crockett pulled her out of his closet to present us with it! The Genetics are Cali-o X Skunk Hybrid then selected to what we have now the Tangie, She grows nice and tall, has a good yield and easily will become your favourite!. She will continue vertical growth until the 5th week so be aware of your space. The Tangie produce very resinous flowers with an unbelievable aroma of citrus, tangerines!! Also she produces some of the best tasting concentrates on earth! Winning every contest she has been entered in 10 out of 10 contests in 8 months!!! Growing the Tangie outside is a must as she finishes late September early October with heavy yields and super sticky flowers. Tangie is also good to SCROG,SOG, she reacts well to topping or the FIM technique as this will produce more of a bush. For best tasting results grow the Tangie in soil.

Clone Only x Crocket's Selection
30% Indica : 70% Sativa
Flowering Time: 9-10 Weeks
Yield: 450-550 g/m2

Orange Bud aka Cali-O
Its all a little confusing with stoner memories and so many breeders and stewards
I like what my friend told me about Orange from Cultivator Choice 🙏
Will keep some Orange Bud around as long as I can

Its a little confusing for me so had to look up some references
The hermie its basal (primordial) cannabis from the thai side maybe  let you know when im able to burn some :smokeit:
Maybe when we think Tangie we need to specify a breeder as well

The old strains lists say that cali range is Thai x [Afghani x Acapulco Gold]” or “thai x early girl [Afghani x Mexican Sativa]”

This old post seem to confirm the former.

When I was first gifted the old orange line(cant confirm if its THE orange), I started looking into modern cali-o strain and mostly found people growing chunky afghanis. This made me doubt the equatorial heritage. Then I grew mine.
I did find a few squatter plants but most were tall and viney with clean limbs, similar to the pic from the seed bank catalog. These tall girls just fold at the first sign of buds lol.

I can't find good pics of them at the moment, but heres a cutting I put outside of a tall girl.

Folded in half and exiting frame at bottom right hah

Cant remember which orange cut that is, but it's sticky eh

Orange a la mouche.jpg

I've passed around a bunch of the "f2s" beans/first gen from the 1993 seeds. So they should be around 😉
