Well, I've been sitting in my upstairs office for like 2 months reading and reading and reading waiting for all the right information to collect together, and I'm thinking I'm getting close to the drawing boards completion! I am feeling more and more ready as may 1st is coming closer.

I'm a huge believer in seeing is believing and those plants don't lie! Tom Hills plants are HUGE and I want my plants to be just like that! I've done lots of civil twilight hour estimations, and I came up with 16 1/2 hours is where its at with the time the sun goes down, then it gets completely dark 1/2 hour late, then sun starts peaking out for 1/2 hour then it comes up. So, I figured I'd extend my greenhouse lighting my timer controlled generator to run this way for 6 weeks roughly until the june 20th date comes around and they can grow on without any worries of preflowering.

What do you guys think about keeping smaller plants in the greenhouse longer when younger? I've been told to do this so the outside weather like raining and such doesn't really mess with them if the roof top is on. The problem is i have a huge built up bed that I could use early but sooner or later it would have to be leveled so light wouldn't get blocked from other plants higher up. Its a 2' raised bed.

Also, what od you guys do about platns getting rained on? Does anyone build like miny greenhouse umbrellas over your plants? I've considered it. That way late in the season when everyone is freaking out from the consistant days of rain, I'm not!

Last year everyone of my plants started flowering. This year I am vegging 17/7.

You cant worry about your plants getting wet. When they are vegging, the warm summer rains really make them grow. I guess late in the season if you are able, and it is safe, you could build mini tents over them if there were heavy rains. I just keep an eye on them and if they show mold they get cut.....

Hello again folks,

"What do you guys think about keeping smaller plants in the greenhouse longer when younger?"

Naw man, get them in their final home as soon as the outdoor transition allows- you want to allow them plenty of time to grab hold of all that dirt-the sooner the better as long as you avoid the dreaded early unintentional flowering.

"Does anyone build like miny greenhouse umbrellas over your plants?"

Better to allow maximum sun & risk a little rain.

Excuse me Budular whilst i pinkle a pic of yours (I did the hard part:D)

Here's a water logged Trainwreck that flirted with 10 lbs dry/manicured

Poor sagging TW :D

thats a great plant TOM, I wish I could get water to mine through the summer, the only good way ,would be to pump it up hill from a creek ,about 350 feet away, through a corn and bean field.

the creek is to close to other property to slosh up buckets of water. The creek is in a dropoff about 5 to 7 feet deep(need a ladder)

I'm getting a car that comes with them stock somtime soon!

What are the roadblocks for, drunks? I cant imagine being stopped for no reason around where I am.
In vermont the number of pot busts has increased. Within 150 miles of the boarder they are doing random stops after 9/11. it's supposedly for terrorist checks, but the number of pot busts has gone up exponentially because of it. beware

My last grow 2x plants and 2x 600wts yielded well, bigbud more than 1gpw and white rhino about 1gpw but both plants where heavily trimmed back and lost lower leaves to alittle overfert finnished slower but very well with 3 weeks of PK. Smoking the bud now it smokes as good as ive grown with these strains and one of the few times i got the white rhino to yield. :joint:

4 week veg in 55litre pots of coco/perlite scrogged over 1.3x 2m.

the bigbud plant mid flower

the 2 plants can barely see the rhino

later in flower

after 3months growing the roots where still in very good condition.

I never made the pound with this lady, the biggest branch broke off shortly after taking this pic, almost the entire front site you see here got molested. The budrot also had a party in this plant because stopped taking care of them late into flowering, I had just found out one of my closest friend died, hence me doing shit about the plants for a couple of weeks. She did yield a good ~300 grams though, but it probably should've been around the pound had everything gone right, alas..

HOLY CRAP!!!! Tom-those plants are huge! What do you grow in? and at what Lat.? I'm at about 45N and get 5'-7' plants in containers and in ground. I usually put out plants mid to end of April.

C'mon- tell us your secrets?

Tom wouldnt you now want to start taking some of the bottom pieces of the bush off since its in veg right now to decrease bud rot and the air and humidity gets in and doesn't smuther the plant

Amazing thread ! I grew a monster sativa one time but it was stolen , it was 4 meters and was only starting pushing white hairs, damn stupid thief !

Thanks for the warning, I dont ever remember being in vermont though, its not on the way to my spots, the roads I use are all extreemly well known to me and not hot spots for cops.. I have torn up and down those roads at triple digits for years and never been pulled over once lol.

Could of easily had 1pounders not last year the year before. The spot im growing at now very fertile soil. Had 3 plants going super strong and forgot about them b/c i went on a long vacation. Came back and didnt recongnize them, they were an easily 6ft but were all males. Only if it was female i think i could of came very close to that big 1lb plant. Ehh maybe this year? never know i pray though :woohoo:
