Actually, you need the "W" (world) model to get cellular, there availible on ebay or some other internet sites I know of.

No one uses analog cell bands anymore, it is all digital these days. The missing cellular bands are mostly useless with these types of devices.

And if you get caught with such a model you are in a world of hurt. If you are going to listen to restricted bands use a software defined radio setup and disk encryption.

The Alinco listens to all CDMA bands such as Verizon. The biggest cellular network in the world.
