does anyone know where i can get the correct codes for my area?
Wow!
Gotta relate this, just happened tonight. I was smoking a cig and sirens were everywhere. Went out front and 3 fire engines stopped in front of my house, and cop car, and DUI van went passed, and the fire marshal pulls up in his little van. The cop car stops near the end of the block, can't really tell what's up, so I rush in, pull up the site just in time to hear.
Apparently, some lady noticed something of fire on her front porch, "a bag or some paper" and called 911 LMAO! I don't know what exactly it was on the porch, but my hunch is it rhymes w/ "dog shit" lol. Slow night in my small town, they brought out the heavies for this "shit storm" lol.
haha kush, you know it was you who put the flamin dog poo on the poor ladys porch just so you can test out your newest online toy!
i think its amazing that they have this stuff going on ... in my area, the officer read off 3 social security numbers... he read off their names and social's... that seems pretty risky... im not really hip to identity theft, but im pretty sure that if you broadcast that info to the wrong ears, it couldnt be good for the "perps" and could be very good for the id thiefs...
haha

... but almost all of the interestng conversations occur on digitally trunked systems that are encrypted around these parts at least. and from what they tell me those cannot be listened to with existing technology yet. . .
That's pretty cool. Anyone know where to find links to figure out what all the jargon they use means?
SDR also facilitates offline key recovery since nearly all encrypted trunks use infrequently changed / weak keys. USRP2 and GNU Radio software has sufficient capabilities and RF front ends for the interested...
