I had a great weekend and hope you did as well.

I will clone for sex from these new Old Timer's Haze starting this week. After they are sexed, I will begin to determine which plants I wish to run outdoors this fall. My goal is to have plants switched 12/12 indoors for 5-6 weeks prior to transplant outdoors with natural reduction of light over fall/winter. I would like to have at least 2 Old Timer's running along side a couple of Tom Hill's Haze for comparison.

I will be finally trying the first run of Old Timer Haze later this week or weekend. Expect a report soon, my friend.

Im curious to know how Tom's and oldtimer's haze lines compare, tom's line must a bit faster to flower, a cross between both lines would be very interesting! Best wishes!

Nice hazes Blan-k-flor! I had thought about this too! From everything I've read it seems that the Haze lines are getting quite bottlenecked. I wonder if something like this might restore some vigor and/or yield.... again, beautiful buds!

Those look very chunky which is kind of surprising, must be the hybrid vigor...how do they grow compared to the parents? I'm assuming it is homebred

I don´t know bro, i haven´t grown ot haze pure neither TH haze in pure form

Your Tom haze's x oldtimer's haze females are very interesting, looking denser than straight oldtimer' haze ... how long did you flower them ? Is your own cross ?

Be careful, sipder mites love this kind of sativas!

Not my cross bro. I got 2 phenos slightly different, one with more internodal distance and lighter green leaves and the other one more compacta and darker; both with very thin leaves. They are in their week 12 at this moment . See you bro!

I am running several Tom Hill's Haze along side Old Timer's Haze right now. The wider leaf comes from the THH line. From the pictures I have seen, the THH bud structure is also denser than Ace OTH. I'm not sure how Tom selected, but it seems he found a chunky wider leaf haze parent and made his seed stock from that filial line.

Well Dubi, another weekend upon us. Hope yours is a great one!

Here is an unofficial report on the Old Timer Haze I grew 2011/2011. I'm not ready to give an official report, because the samples are from the first run, taken just shy of 18 weeks. This plant could have gone another 3 weeks. In addition, although it's been a few months in the fridge, she is still very green and needs to cure longer.

I have the 20+ week clone grow at about 50% RH curing away and she is looking oh so nice. Developing a more golden green color and stronger aroma. Once I've tasted her, I can give the official report.

Appearance: is as expected, stringy medium calyx with good resin coverage. This photo shows the sample (original seed run in front) next to the clone run that went 10 weeks indoor 11/13 and then outdoors for 10 weeks to finish. I think you can see why I want to wait until I've sampled the second batch as it is superior in every way. The extra maturity of the plant, a strong 20 week finish and proper ripening on the vine should make for a much more desirable effect.


Aroma: is a lovely fruity (mango, papaya, lime) with green tea and some sort of peppery spice. There is no detection of skunk (the animal), chemicals, fuels, etc. seen in so many modern varieties.

Taste: in my vaporizer is similar to her smell. Light but fruity with a mild fruit kiss on exhale.

Effect: takes a few minutes to become apparent and then it builds on you. Very much a 'head high' and clear, somewhat focused. You can get the desire to change gears and then wonder why. As Dubi has stated, this is an inbred line and the strength of this sample is not the strongest. I expect the clone to be a bit stronger still. Please do not assume she is 'weak'. You get a very noticeable effect, felt primarily in the neck and head with some tingling in the extremities. No real tachycardic effects. Some may feel a mild nervousness from the energy rush to the brain. These rushes continue as the effect lingers on. Duration of effect is moderate and I expect to improve in the clone sample and longer cure. Slow creeping effect to plateau and then gradual descent. It seems that there is minimal ceiling, though I've not pushed too hard just yet.

All in all, she is a real pleasure to behold. The high is wonderful and unique in effect from most strains today. I really am looking forward to completing this report in a few months. I'm also anxious to grow out some other OTH plants this year into next. More to come....

I'm glad u enjoyed the report blan-k-flor. I enjoyed writing it. I mixed the OTH into a sativa blend along with the Bangi Haze and vaped a gram or so. Another med patient and I split the bag. He was out of commission for about 30 minutes. Had to shut down and reboot (lol).

Here's a blurry picture of the two new OTH 3x6's I'm vegging. They both look to be female, so I'm going to have to throw some Tom Hill's Haze and some Rez SSSDH pollen at them this fall.

Your experience with oldtimer's haze sativa is very apreciated. The tropical fruit aromas and incensey aromas are my favourite in the line. Oldtimer's haze doesnt develop her full potency indoors, most potent hazes we have tried where grown outdoors in a warm climate.

Thanks Dubi. Mother plant was flowered fully outdoors. Clone (which looks like it will be more potent) was flowered 10 weeks indoors and finished 10 weeks outdoors. I'm around 34 degrees and a few miles inland near sea level. With the next round, I plan to start them indoors 12/12 for 4-6 weeks and finish outdoors in late December/early January.

I have grown hazes around similar latitude (37N) in a coastal climate. If you grow haze outdoors in a warm climate, the finished product is quite more desirable in potency and quality than indoor haze. Oldtimer's haze is an extreme tropical sativa and it is not acclimatized to indoor growing for sinsemilla production.

Cool info Dubi! Sorry if this is a bit off topic but, in your opinion is this true for most/all sativas? How about indicas, too? I've only grown (and harvested) inside and am lacking some experience here.

THe OTH is the first haze I had ever grown, I found a silver, leathery female, that went from fall to late January indoors. She kinda of finished and dried on the stem. Id say I let her go her full cycle. The smoke was very smooth, but sharp at the same time. I have a few more OTH seeds but I just dont have the space to finish them indoors anymore. Im glad I came across this thread, and I will enjoy looking thru it at the other OTH grows within. Thanks for sharing everyone
