Oldtimer's Haze

Something always calls my attention is what GKN referred to about long curing. Its so important in this case and in many sativas. No comparison can be done within a quick dry smoke test and cured smoke test. And even more in this long and delicate line.

To read about psicodelic effects is so unsual nowdays, doesnt mean just strength or potency, but a unique quality must say and I know well GKN is an expert grower to talk with property. Other sativas can be more potent maybe, wont argue about that, and maybe will hit you much faster so you feel it instantanelly and after short curing but Oldtimers seems to contain still some effect of old sativas we cannot replicate or create so easely today ;) at all! Think Four Season talked about it and Nirrity recalled about this short ago.

Will like to thank again to Oldtimer (hope he is well) for sharing with us and for giving the chance to dig deep in this old line. We know now was worth every effort on it. Is not easy line to outbreed succesfully (doesnt mean to throw pollen and make seeds, my cat do that from time to time, but talk about quality effects) and think Sams or Nevilles Hazes can combine much easier due work and quality of them but we are more than happy to know a very fine quality may come out from Oldtimers as well and in an oldtimers way. Not all and maybe bit more selection required but biggest job is been done already. Hope in near future wa can bring some more seeds from only best tested moms. Also fine combination with another inbred pure sativa line like our Panama seemed to push some on the right place in this sense and also very well expressed by some who tried it like La Mota de Dios or GKN (thx again mates). Is all this feedback which helped us a lot too to know better, believe us. Wish you keep on helping us this way

So thx also to all ppl who supported us in this time and helped us to understand well so we learnt with them too.

peace and enjoy

You honour me charlie! Thanks so much troesma!!!
You're absolutely right about that special qualities in the high wich can't be easily replicated nowadays. I don't know if its only due to genetic diversity lost, or it's because an hybrid as such captures the essence of the time and the vibes of the people who bred it.
The OldTimer's Haze opened my mind in many different ways, from grower perspective, from smoker perspective and from cannabis lover in all. It never ceased to surprise me, from the time i read about it, to the time when i was smoking the last buds of my purple haze almost two years after germinating the seed! At that point i had some trips on it that were a complete blow-out for me. Truely psychedelic experiences that you get from entheogens like mushrooms or LSD.
But for people who didn't fell in love with her like i did, maybe it wasn't 'too potent' or 'too tasty', because they have different parameters for potency or taste. For me is, withouth doubt, among the best (and i've grown and smoked lots, believe me).
Thanks so much to you charlie, and the ACE collective, we could have this completely different cannabis experience. And love to OldTimer who preserved this time-capsule over the years.
here its the purple Old Timer's Haze with 6 months cured

charlie,

I agree that a good cure can do wonders for many sativas and I am betting that OTH1 really shines with a long cure. If I start them now, I may be able to sample a 6 month + cure come New Years, 2012. jeje.

gkn,

Again, very nicely done!! Those samples look like a little purple heaven.

Going to be a long wait. In the meantime, I will tap into the last OTH1 release to see what looks like fun. I've got a stocked lot of jars filled with Sativa Dom Hybrids. Big question is, do I have enough to last me through a year long + grow/harvest/cure cycle. Time will tell...

Ur_Humbl_Nr8tor, new years of 2012, the last year of the mayan calendar, is a perfect time to smoke a 6 months cured purple ot haze bud...
I don't think you have to depend on your actual stock of buds, you don't have to grow OT Haze by itself but its better to grow it along with other strains you normally grow, because when these are ready then the hazes will be just starting to flower and you won't run out of buds.

Wow, gkn. You just sent a shock down my spine. Of course, the Mayan calendar. Now I am really geared up for getting started. I'm thinking of running Bhangi Haze as well and wonder what you think of a potential cross? The flower time difference won't be so great. I could also run a few of my current crosses which go 13-15 weeks, or something like Sour Diesel. Somewhat limited by space. Decision, decision.

Hi bro! Well banghi haze is one of the fastest ACE hybrids finishing in 9 or 10 weeks so there will be plenty of difference in the flowering time, with the OT Haze being one of the latest flowering sativas in the ACE catalogue, i think the OTH will start flowering when bangi is almost ready to harvest, because its not only longer flowering but also takes longer to react to light cycle changes. The cross of course has a lot of potential, being the bangi haze so potent as said in other thread here, and much faster flowering than oth, crossing to it could make some awesome sativa plants, then you'll have to select for what traits you like.

gkn,

Yes that is quite the difference. Doing calendar math in head, perhaps I start both indoors and move the OTH outside while I finish up the Banghi inside. I will be dropping beans in about 8 days so I must get my plans in order. The strain I had hoped to reveg for another flower go didn't make it, so it will be all from new beans this time around. Thanks for the info.

When will the OT Haze be back in stock?

Hello Feb2006er,

Straight Oldtimer's Haze will probably back next year. Thanks for your interest, hope you find interesting the new haze x thai crosses while we are working to produce fresh oldtimer's haze stock.

Dubi and friends, first...congratulations to Spain's fine performance in the semi finals of this years cup. To a strong finish in the finals!

I will be running my own World Cup of Ace genetics. I have just dropped 5 Old Timer Haze + 3 Banghi Haze into water and am patiently waiting to move to cups and wet paper towels.

I have two additional sativa leaning seeds in H2O (Senor Garcia = Panama Red x Oregon Purple Thai). I've found some nice males in this one, so a cross to OTHaze or BHaze may be in the works.

I hope to have sprout pictures soon!

I can't wait for the Haze...Thanks for the update. I've been financially unable to try any of the Haze x Thai crosses, but I hope to do so in the future if they are still available.

Are there any plans for Hawaiian Sativas genetics in Ace's future?

1 of 5 OTH have sprouted white tip after 40 hours. Slightly anxious about the rest of them. Any advice on how long is typical to sprout? I have these in moist paper towels in beer cups on a heat mat. 3 for 3 of my Bangi Haze have sprouted by now.

Thanks gkn, I am staying positive though no additional sprouts today (day 3). I will let them go another 24 hours and if something doesn't happen, I will have to consider the additional 6 seeds as a single OTH plant will not suffice. Keep your fingers crossed!
