Old school low THC genetics

przcvctm, excellent post. I dont smoke anyones herb but my own, and for the exact reasons that you experienced. Just too many times at parties I'v found my self hanging on for dear life or having to leave because it was all just to much.
I also stopped growing indoors, I grow only outdoors now with organics, and the same few strains I'v grown for years. I always allow my plants to go to seed, this really changes things, it lessens the thc and make it all a bit less profound. My friends love to smoke my pot because like me they like to get high, happy high. We laugh a lot and do stuff.
Perhaps some one with more knowledge would know what happens when pot goes to seed, but it sure takes the paranoia and anxiety out of the experience for sure.

Hey ixnay007 I picked up fighting buddha about a month ago. Thanks for posting. Have a bunch of seeds now and was debating which ones to grow out first. Gave me more confidence in growing out FB first.

Have heard a lot of people recommend DJ's flo. Also looking forward to seeing what chimera's new mexican x blueberry is like.

mithra: I hear ya on growing your own. I am just getting tired of the same stuff over and over. It is so frustrating how little people care about anything other than wanthing to escape from reality. To me I want something that gets me more engaged with what is going on around me and appreciative of all the complexities of life.

Cheers

an interesting note about a oaxacan line that i have sampled: it was not feel good happy weed like flo or what i have experienced with some brickweed in the past. it was entrancing and heavy - cerebral and introspective. Not comfortable at all to me.

So, just because it's mexican doesn't mean that it isn't powerful in very weird ways.

agreed, but I think most would agree that sticking with real deal highland mexican genetics, especially highland oaxacan, will get you the feel-good happy effects you desire

why not just grow some mellow sativa hybrid strains and just harvest at like 30 days? You'd save time and if you have a hankering for something more potent, let it go 60!

the strongest smoke I have ever had was Cinderella 99 when it first came out from the brothers Grimm. it does not really taste great or even smell that great but it was good.

alot of other people say "White Widow" but I dont know.. I know things have changed alot since these old strains but what can I say.. I am old :)

Willie Nelson from Reeferman might be what just you're looking for. It's Vietnamese and Highland Nepalese. Old school sativa, tasted like it too.

Smoked a spliff of it in Barney's a few days after meeting Reeferman and Gypsy at SeedBoutique. Didn't feel that powerful compared to everything else that I sampled that week but it was a nice cerebral, soaring high. It left an impression on me. Check it out.

I say go with dj genetics blueberry or flo youll feel a gentle take off then a soaring sensation while being very relaxed thats clear and focused. Its a very cleansing feeling.

also deep breathing exercises, stretching, walking and tools like a foam roller or a ma roller can help relieve tensions and bring about a state of relaxation.

But true A11 isn't available anywhere, unless you get________ version, which I hear is a poor, indica-leaning expression of it. No? Yes?

I haven't had the good fortune to try out as many strains as a lot of people here on icmag, but in my somewhat limited experience by far the best work/daytime smoke has been Blue Satellite 2.2 by Spice of Life. It's a cross between DJ Short blueberry and SOL Sweet Tooth, and it's got a bright, clear, motivating high that is very unobtrusive and doesn't get in the way. I kid you not, every time I smoke it, I'll sit down and think to myself that I'll check out the latest stuff on icmag for a bit, and before I know it I'm working instead. I just seem to get motivated to get shit done (which is fortunate since there's so much to do), and experience absolutely no anxiety or raciness. It's strong enough, but definitely not overpowering. There are others I like quite a bit also, but BS2.2 is my go-to daytime smoke right now.

I've heard many great reports about other DJ Short strains that seem to me like they'd fit the bill of what the OP is looking for.

lowryder 1 or 2 quite a nice high but rather weak. :D
yeah , I would agree with this , my missus likes the erm 'mild' stuff and she loves Lowryder 2 ... other than that I would recommend grinding up the whole plant so that the trim is mixed with the bud (not the stalks obviously) .. another one would be something like speed queen (mandala) or Durban poison grown outdoors ...nice high buzz that one

You can't go wrong with Steve and DJ :joint:. I've asked for Blue Sat freebies with my last 2 orders. Hopefully I get 'em this time.

How's the taste?

Have any of you tried sun drying your weed? I tried it years go and the sun bleached out the green and made it weaker , but the taste was very good.

Heh, these are freebies I'm talking about, I liked them so much I bought a pack!

Taste-wise, I'm perhaps not the best person to ask, as I do not have a sensitive palate. I can tell you that they all taste quite nice, maybe a little sweet, very smooth with a subtle fruitiness, which I like. Could make amazing crosses with this stuff, I'm sure.

Smell, on the other hand... One is very strongly Blueberry, not just "Oh, yeah, that kind of smells like blueberry", it's more like "whoah! blueberry!". That one is a mutant, quite an ugly plant, but Oh My God the scent is amazing!!! Definitely a keeper, I really need to do some crosses with this monster.

The other one is a little more floral but also very fruity, but more of a citrus type that's harder to identify. I tend to think of it as grapefruit, but I don't know if that's because of my current obsession with SPG. Definitely citrus, though. That's the one that I'm smoking on the daily now, and it's some of the best daytime smoke I've ever had.

The other one seems to be somewhere in the middle of those two extremes, but I only popped a five-seed freebie pack and got three females, so YMMV.

They are all amazing, though, and that's what I was looking for when I asked for them as freebies. Definitely not for folks who are simply looking to smoke themselves retarded and sit on the couch staring at the television.

DJ Short is obviously a guy who selects his breeding stock (originally landrace genetics from all over) according to strong preferences for the more interesting and motivating type of old-school buzz, rather than just bland potency. You can see it in smoke reports of every strain he makes, and it's obvious to me that he cares a lot about the final product.

For me, the combination of his and SOL's genetics works wonders. Fantastic mental medicine that gets stuff done :)
