Btw, it wasn't a 'derisive taunt' but a well known quote ..

depends how you use it bro.

are there any other regions of human study you feel are invalid because waveguide won't explain them to you on icmag? :D

Well it was not meant as a taunt.
If I come across as aggressive and negative I apologise.

Whatever.

What a morning, sigh. Meh other thread got high jacked this one is a bit nuts, too.

It's good to see two evidently opinionated persona get along with all the big words flying around.

I'll just hang here for the short time I have. Since all the problems I seem to view as problems probably stem from topics we should/ could and are discussing here.

Please continue with original topic, sorry for any hijackings!

I used to associate psychics only with chatting to dead people, but I suppose it covers a lot of paranormal occurrences, so who knows

I was really high when I first read this thread and thought it said, "lets talk about physics", not, "lets talk about psychics".

M. Brunch is an Empiricist

Empiricism is generally a theory of knowledge focusing on the role of experience, especially experience based on perceptual observations by the senses

-A priori knowledge is knowledge that is known independently of experience (that is, it is non-empirical, or arrived at beforehand, usually by reason). It will henceforth be acquired through anything that is independent from experience.

----A posteriori knowledge is knowledge that is known by experience (that is, it is empirical, or arrived at afterward).

Two men were arguing about a flag flapping in the wind. "It's the wind that is really moving," stated the first one. "No, it is the flag that is moving," contended the second. A Zen master, who happened to be walking by, overheard the debate and interrupted them. "Neither the flag nor the wind is moving," he said, "It is MIND that moves."

There is no inherent existence, just mere appearances.

"epistemology... no good.. bunch of nonsense.."

"waveguide.. no good.. won't even explain epistemology on demand to someone unreasonably resistant to understanding a simple thing.."

this is how the masons keep you disinterested in anything or anyone that can help you.

i guess because he posted the quote with the six year old and said grow up, that must mean me, huh :)

friends like yous are never lost.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proofs.

Otherwise they're only batshit opinions. I got loads of those I can claim as "true".
I can't prove em, but I can still say, "This is it".
But I shouldn't reasonably expect you to take me seriously.
Some do have that expectation.

Why? I have no idea. Maybe people who bullshit themselves figure you're as dumb as they are.
Or they're just basically batshit.

I just learned a lot from that post, thank you.
I think that does describe my way of thinking... May well not be the right way, but I guess it was how I was brought up. I do try to learn every day though.

Btw, I also thought it said physics when I first read.

nothing wrong with being an empiricist.

my life experience has taught me not to trust my senses.
all the time. things are not always what they seem

I just like the fancy hats with the poofy feathers...
They make me feel pretty.

it's been a long, miserable slog against you lot (or rather, you lot against me).

but that thread about old men wearing hats was one of the best laughs i've had/am likely to have :tiphat:
