the point that was being discussed was language and how it creates reality, or at least aids us is discriminating, judging, evaluating what we perceive as real.

then claims were made about how 'race' is responsible for x and y differences.

such claim is objected, since the word 'race' is being mis-used, as it does not really have any relation regarding said x and y differences, and since language and how it interacts with our assembling of 'reality' was the subject, it is important to make note of the usage of the word.

then someone took himself way too seriously and failed to look back at the thread's direction, was not able to acknowledge the limitations of language and persistently chose to use a word that assembles a non-desirable value judgement, dividing and categorizing where no division or categories really apply.

no. it was a word that lead to the idea that language was reality...which it is not, it's just a descriptor of our perception of same.

the way the word is used creates the perception of abuse and weirds use was lacking intent to which you've assigned consequence.

it was undeserving of attack, was undirected at anyone, was benign of intent.
