And The Plot Thickens..!

And The Plot Thickens..!

hey everyone i have some bad news ...Well today i was checking my rez, making sure everything was fine...and what did i happen to find in there, Fucking some kind of knats living in my rez :yoinks: they are living inbetween my water level..and air chamber from which my net cups are hanging. They are crawling and flying around my roots...Crawling in my roots and are all through my hydroton...I have no clue how they started their own colony...I never seen them there before...but i am thinking that is whats causing my problem...with the leaves being all screwed up..How should i get rid of them...

What i planned on doing was mixing up some h2o2 and water to rinse out my hydroton really well, and then raising my water level so there aint so much of an air pocket for them to live in...is this a bad idea? If so what steps should i take to get rid of them...Please somebody help me...Im to far into flowering to loose them to a buch of little freaking knats..PLEASE SUGGEST SOMETHING...PEACE

Add bacillus bacteria to your water. This is the ingredient in gnatrol, mosquito dunks, and some bottles of mosquito control. Check the label. Catapillar control won't work. Going rate other than bottle directions is 1/4 dunk per 5 gallons.

^^Yup...BTi works great on em and is nontoxic to animals and humans - plus it's easy to find at WM, HD or Lowes.

Hi pedrodepacas,
I concur with mtf sandman, use bti and eliminate the fungus gnats.
If a gnat infestation gets out of control it can cause alot of serious root system damage, even to the point of destroying the grow.
I'd also dissolve about an eighth of a misquito dunk in a gallon of water and dip each netcup into this solution to make sure all the medium gets a good soaking, then use the rest of the dunk (the other 7/8ths) in that ten gallon res. repeat it on your next res change too.

Now, if need be please start another thread for your gnat problem pedro.
I want to close this thread here and now, and end all the drama regarding sproutcos disappearance.
