Well, just made it home from the Cup, sore feet and achign lungs but man, what a great time!

Just wanna say bigthanks to capt. crip, smokey (and mrs smokey!), ojd, logic, mrhaze420 and everyone else I;m forgetting.

Thanks to Kenny for saying hello today and keeping me company for a while, my sore feet just didn't want to walk anymore and I was pretty happy where I was!

I have to say, I chatted to Soma about the NYCD and he entered his mum as folks suspect, according to what he said. I spotted the NYVD, it was very fruity, I thought more oranges than grapefruits and very sticky when breaking up, so I'm not complaning about it winning as it was probably the best grown sample of the bunch, but to be honeast, it would have been walked all over by some of the other buds I got to smoke over the weeked - truecannabliss's Cheese and Casey Jones, JLP's Vanillaluna and all 3 of Bear's rock-hard sample buds were better imho, in fact, the tastes I liked most all weekend were the Vanillaluna and Bear's Chocolope.

Big props to the hashman for the Nepalese and Caramello, both made it home with me safely and are being much enjoyed now.

Top 5 best things about the cup:

1. Meeting lots of very cool folks
2. Caramello and Nepalese - both amazingly fantastic
3. The buds people brought with them
4. GHS Strawberry Milkshakes
5. BLT's (and watching Bear eat them one after the other! lol)

Things that sucked about the cup:

No sativas
DNA/Seed Politics BS
On-site, post-cup pissin contest BS
Not many icmag members were able to make it
No Chemdog (I know GHS says there was but where? Chem D wasn't to be found in those samples if ya asks me!)

So all in all a fantastic time, was just hangin in Amsterdam with some very cool friends for a couple of days and there happened to be some seed samples being judged, this year the cup was very secondary to just hangin out and gettin to know folks.

So regardless of any 'who's got what cut shit' the weekend was a great gathering of cool cats and I can't wait to do it again! OH, and this Chemdog hoopla just makes me giggle when I'm toking on some off the hook hash, who cares what the truth is about the GHS dog, folks on icmag should know better than to worry about what GHS does cos Arjan surely couldn't care less!

Nice observations,thanks!

I'll put $10K on the table that says it wasn't the Chemdog D Clone.

I tend to think that, with the assembled company of guys who do know the Chem D well and would have spotted it that either there was no Chem D there or it was badly grown Chem D that lacked the right taste and potency.

Having said that, I didn't realise the Cheese entry was actually the original Cheese cut until the results came out.

Here's some Chem D x Nigerian Silk I grew recently, Chemdawg pheno, I really loved this plant, easily the equal of the Cheese and ECSD pheno of the SD IBL in taste and potency, and I had both of those plants at the same time and smoked all 3 at the same time, this Chem D pheno was possibly my pick of the three, although I really love the Cheese and ECSD pheno SD. I have to say, I didn't spot an entry that tasted like this or reminded me of this, and to me (and my fairly uninformed point of view) if there was some Chem D in the bunch it should have been at least reminiscent of this?

One point I'd like to make though, DJ Short's Vanillaluna, grown by JLP was some mighty fine and tasty bud, as were the Vanillalunas grown by Elevator Man back home in the UK. To me, this is a great example of a truism I hold dear to which I think puts a little perspective on all this elite clone hoopla. YES, THESE CUTS, SUCH AS THE CHEMDAWG AND OG KUSH ARE SERIOUS DANK BUT IF YOU START SOME SEEDS YOU CAN FIND OTHER PLANTS OF THIS QUALITY.

That Vanillaluna proves my point, I think it stands up in quality to many elites (the ones I've tried at least) and it;s just a pheno of a seedline, the other VL phenos are also fantastic, perhaps others breeders such as Rez should put some of their talents to work in developing their own unique lines as this would be much more interestign to a lot of folks than more work with elite cuts. Hey Rez, I love the Sour Diesel work and I'm looking forward to starting some more of your Diesel variations (DSD up next) but I do think you have real talent for breeding and would love to see what you came up with if you took a step away from the elite cut work and introduced some unique and new genes into the mix, a Rez original interests me much more than a new Rez Chemdog release. Perhpas when the Chemdog work has reached a similar point to the Diesel work has now then you might consider throwing down some original work a la DJ short? Maybe Rez, you'll enjoy working with more original genes than with cuts like the Chem D, certainy you wouldn't have to deal with the same level of debate that you are right now over this Chem D cut.

I'm puzzled - why does the 'Sativa' category have so few sativas? Shouldn't it be pure lines or sativa hybrids? Half of those are half indica at least...

The winds of change are blowing. Something different by someone unkown done outside. It's time outdoor bud takes it's rightful place at the awards table.

It is perfect timing for OD bud to be cured in plenty of time for the Cup.But there would deff be someone tryin to pull off some hydro n say its OD bud.Get snagged fast, but i bet it would happen. But i love that idea, and i love some good Sun grown bud.Win Win.

I could not tell the Chemdawg d in the sample packet. So I don't believe they have the cut. imho.

2. the absolute best smoke there was the Cheese grown by Truecannibis.

3. the hashes were a little closer but Ed from Delta 9 labs had the best Butter hash I've toked on. It melts completely when you put the flame close to it.

All in all I had great fun hanging out with the Ic crew, and would do it again today. ( I think I will) lol

I think the only ones you could infact call a sativa or a heavy sat hybrid are Nevils x Mango Haze / Cambodian Haze and i think Zamal but dont know much about Zamal.

Sativa Category

1. NYCD - Soma
2. Chemdog - Green House
3. Kushage #16 - Karma Genetics
4. Nevils x Mango Haze - OJD
5. Lifesaver - Moppel
6. Sourfly - Mosca Negra
7. Cambodian Haze - Soma
8. NYCD - Cloudz
9. Zamal - Magus Genetics

I think it dont matter any more if you look here sk1 is now also an indica.

Indica Category

1. Buddha's Sister - Soma
2. Cheese - Mr. GT
3. Lemon Skunk - Green House
4. So Gouda - Soma
5. Bubba Kush - Green House
6. Purple Bastard - OJD
7. Double Dutch - Magus Genetics
8. Happy Brother - Karma Genetics
9. Aiea - Delta 9
10. Kings Kush - Green House
11. Flylicious - Mosca Negra
12. K Train - Green House

So you can entre any strain in any of the Categorys so haze hybrids can win indica Categorys next.

this is my take

ive smoked many kushes and other things from capt while i have been here(all very nice and nothing you can buy like it out here)

and there were to me 2 weaker tasting kushes in the entrys nothing like anything capt had

but i reconised a very faint kushey taste
i thought it was nice this entry but nothing that special
and definately something ive tried before i even smoked any of capts
i recon these are just a kush cut and far from the best
also i wonder why they only had an oz of this weed and no joints or buds to look at or share at the cup(they did pass around 1 big joint that tasted like shit from the begining of the joint it was not any of there entrys),makes me believe they didnt have any more buds it might even of been sent from a friend in the states

if this is a chemdog(which it wasnt) then what a load of hype

stick to the clone or the rezdog line as many people here at the cup have claimed great success with the chemdog seeds from rez

and if you want kush look for raskal swerve and capt

these 4 guys will deliver a slice of the highgrade right to your garden

Karma Genetics

The Kushage i enterd was from a mother i selected from a batch of THseeds. It was in my eye's and noise the best from the 100 seeds i grown from Kushage. It also was much more sativa like then the rest off the outcome.

I have to agree there was litle time to get things ready. My samples where defantly not what they can be. But no need to go in to that.

Keep this spirit and next year is going to be the Best.

Hope a lot of you enter next year and that there maybe more entry's

I think best is to enter somthing persenol selected. So that when you win you get credits for your work. Not for somone else that selected that clone.

It was a great 420

Thank you all that came and made it posibel.
