We have a similar saying in English, 'nothing ventured, nothing gained'. Like DG said, you have to be in it to win it!

Hi B_H,

Yes it was a dodgy situation with the black community that time, and the African guy who introduced me got a lot of problems from it, but hopefully my deepfelt apology to him helped.

You have many interesting stories too, and I enjoy reading them :)

I know you come across as a humble guy, but we both know you can judge quality and what you have is good ;) I'm just pulling your leg of course, but there's no reason why your 250W grown bud is any worse than those grown under 1000W - it depends on the level of light intensity the plants get, and the love you give them of course. A plant grown very near to a 250W source will be the same as those further away from a 1000Watters......I know because I've grown extensively under a range of HPS and MH from 250-1000W, often in larger settings.

Unlike yourself, I have taken the journey into commercial growing, but always with a loving greenfinger, and always offered a very fair price to a trusted mate.

However, I am now living in Italy and my circumstances do not allow me to do that anymore, nor do I have my old cherished genetics anymore, but if I did, you can be sure that I'd be entering the cup this year too, and that many a folk would surely like my herbs & hash.

Regarding a 6-month cure for next year's cup, I have experimented with different curing times, and I remember Sam the Skunkman saying on OG that anything more than a 3-month cure is not going to improve the quality of buds anymore. I hope I remember correctly what he said, but I'm pretty sure I do. It's such a shame that the fantastic resource that OG was is now lost.

Peace

Yeah, I've never cured anything beyond 120 days, couldn't see any difference between 90 days and 120, so Sam is probably right, he usually is!

I agree about 250s, the problem is with the light intensity falling off quick. Short plants get round this problem, if you let them get too tall, like this Jamaican did, you end up with nice buds at the top and a lot of stem and popcorn down below:

But if you train plants well and trim off all the lower growth so all the energy goes into the top buds, you can grow some lovely buds with a 250.

This pic of the Purple Afghan shows you can grow nice sized buds with a 250, the plant had 4 colas, this one being the biggest but the other four were also of a similar size. Growing is like anything else, the more you practice, the better you get! I try to learn a little every day and I'll never stop learning, once you close your mind to new knowledge you have made a big mistake that will cost you in the long run imho.

Not trying to belittle you brother just tryin' to light a fire under your ass to get ya over there is all..Lighten up a little my friend...As far as sellin' cannabis....It's all relative.....It's also illegal to grow it ,even in Cali!!According to the Government LOL!.......

Let's not use "against the law" as an excuse though...Hell it's even illegal in Holland....But tolerated :)

I go by the laws of nature and not my shitty government....Do on to others as they do on to you....Ya know......
You are gonna have a helluva time smoking all those jars anywayzz...So if you can't go send over those samples and we will giva an honest opinion..........

I have work also but this is one the "boss" will either understand or he can find someone else to run that boat.....My ass will be in da Dam..............

B.Bulldog,
I must agree on the curing...Some do well with cure and some do not...I never could get the Superfruit cut to improve with cure..It always lost it's killer odor for a more hay-like odor no matter what the MC % was left in the flowers she would not cure properly...The bud has some of the tastiest flowers I have yet to experience but the cure seemed to do it no justice...

Others seem to do much better with a few months...

Strange indeed....
Take care...................................CC

hey 10ft- if i was shouting out loud about how good my bud is i would without doubt be sending an entry to at least gain some respect as you won't earn it by talking the talk, prove it. 30g = not much compared to what your showing

DG- YOU NAILED IT

Sorry about the mistake on the form...getting it corrected....the amount required this year to enter is:

28 grams cannabis
14 grams hashish

That will permit each of the 28 judges to receive about a gram per variety of cannabis and 1/2 gram of hashish to test.

Hopefully web support gets the form corrected soon....but in the meantime, please go by the amounts listed above, which are the same as what was posted in the beginning of this thread.

Sorry for any confusion!

Let's keep this thread on topic...it's about the IC Mag 420 Growers and Breeders Cup in Amsterdam.

Off topic posts split from thread and binned.

Just checked....entry form has been corrected. :D

Well said DG, I was just gonna say I was sick of arguments but you beat me to it!

39 days till 4/20!

Then again, I'm British and we write the date 20/4, but for the sake of international stoner unity, I will use the American nomenclature! lol

20th of April, Amsterdam, The Netherlands, be there or be square!

... don't forget the forfeit if you mention any 'uber rare elite' folks!!!!! roflmfao

I reckon we should organise a meetup/smokeout for the Uk folks after the Cup as there's quite a few who can't attend.

Hi HashishinReidi :)

It would be great to see you in the Netherlands for 420, and yes m8, we did have a blast last time :)

I arrive on the evening of the 18th, staying in Eindhoven, then will make my way up to the Dam on the 19th by train, and then returning back to Italy on the morning of the 21st.

If you are able to make it, PM me as we can share a hotel if you like.

Peace

Ok cool HR, I look forward to hearing from you m8 ;) :)

Nice work on the plants with the 250 British_Hempire: I too have had considerable success with a 250, and my best yield was over 6 ounces of hard dense nugs in a scrog, with a 2.5 month veg time from seed (NL#2).

You're spot on about trimming off the lower budsites, and that Jamaican would have had fat heads with a trim down below :)

Hi CC, the Superfruit sounds a bit of a strange one, with it not improving with a good cure, but then I guess that happens sometimes.

Peace

Here's another plant I just chopped, Cheese x Yumboldt. I'll bring some of this top the Cup as well as the little bit of hash I made from the trim and popcorn buds (didn't trim this one down below either).

All the plants in my current flower run have been brutally pruned down below so in effect, I have a modular SCROG going on. I got somewhere between 220 and 230g from 8 plants last year which was 0.9g per watt, that was mostly due to genetics that yielded really well (Purple Afghan), but I don't grow for yield, I like variety and even though I smoke all day every day, I never run out.

The advantage of not having pruned that Jamaican is that I can pollinate the lower popcorn buds and the top buds are still sensimilla. I pollinated the lower buds with Nigerian Nightmare pollen a few days back and seeds are forming, so I'm happy.

Hi B_H,

Nice plants and ok cool, that's a good yield from a 250. I must say I got the ~180g from 1 or 2 plants total and the buds were heavily manicured. I know what you're saying about not just going for yield, but it sounds like your Purple Afghani and others are highly potent too :)

What you say about pollinating the lower buds is a good reason for keeping the lower sites on - you might lose a bit of the yield and size of the heads, but you gain a lot of seeds from all those little budsites down below.

Take care and enjoy the smoke,

Peace

OK British Hempire....
This is some of what I'm sending over for smoke for the cup weekend..
These are not entries folks but will be shared gernerously with those that attend the cup...

This that Mexi sativa we talked about...I do not know what the potency will be like and if it's not cerebral and fairly strong it will not make the journey..

Next up is a few pics of the OGKush (Abusive) before chopping these 2..I have a couple more that are getting a really heavy flush to send over...

And now for that delicious Strawberry Creme (Screme)...This is a cut that CBF discovered.....I love the killer odor/flavor,he said some peeps did not..

OK,now for a few pics of the Bubba that is flushing..Prolly take 7 to 10 days under the bommers to bleed out some of that dark green pigment...

Heres that Krush sativa we talked briefly about...I do not know origins yet but it looks to be quite a killer plant...If potency is on time she will make the journey...I have plenty of this...(7 big plants)

Last but certainly not least is Neville's Haze..I fed her a couple of times with the indica nutes and she didn't appreciate it very much but kept on....
She is very jungle wild looking due to the extra nutes but her odor is intact and a good manicure will give the flowers we desire......

Will try to find a few pics of the Trainwreck (S1) sativa Dominant plant that I have in transit...This one is unique for sure....Odor/flavor is well,,,Strange!

HI ALL, I'M SO HAPPY TO SEE THE 420 EVENT IS NOW AT HAND!!!

Is there any passes for sale yet? (Sorry if I seem blunt by just asking out like this, but I'm dropping by from my holidays and can't leave the missus waiting right now.)

PS! Holiday Report/Climate Report: In the South Catalonia's the Mediterranean Ocean is now warm enuff for a little dip. (I measured it at 20 centigrades recently (at a shallow beach of course, but still with waves large enuff for kids trying to surf them a little)
The area seem very suitable for a tiny family farm, and bountiful crops of what we all love the most.
