How in the hell does anybody even get anything to Amsterdam. Don't answer that. However, a simple package with a birthday present has been sitting at customs for days. Is this irony? I sweat getting seed to me in the states every time but they always make it. The one thing I try to send into Amsterdam is hung up a Netherlands Customs.

Anybody have any experience with them. Are they just slow?

I know I am just in worried mode right now.

a few years ago a package was intercepted by the customs before the ht cup. they left a note at the address here saying please come pick up at a facility near the airport. when they got there they were detaind by the police and had to pay a big fine, not arrestred though. beware of this ploy by the customs .

Everything about getting to the 420 cup and staying in Amsterdam whatever the cost is not determined by Gypsy. He doesn't own the airplanes, hotels, restaurant and bars. The only price they set that I am talking about is the price of the judges pass. Just because you made it to Amsterdam doesn't mean you automatically get one of those. Too many people want them and will pay for them. And IMHO they should pay way more than what a similar amount of weed would cost in the coffee shops.

Because there is at least gonna be 1 ounce of psychedelic tripping, uncontrollable laughing, sumo wrestler size munchies and "I just made this whole room stink" weed in the 420 Cup because.......

My entry was delivered at the secret address yesterday.

I am not physically there but ICKIS will be in the 420 Cup. Time for a smoke battle. :dueling:

I'm in!!!!!

Ickis do you think people would be complaning if they got an oz of smoke for $400, you are wrong if you think this, its more like 10-15g in the indica section for $400 and 10-15g in the sativa section for $400, now do you think this is good value for money?? also, do you think the people who pay the most are the best people to be a judge?? I know for a fact I would have been an excellent judge, would have smoked all they samples out and gave an honest view on each 1, I would have finished all they samples off myself np, but because im not willing to be pay they prices, that makes me not in the correct category for you to be a judge, maybe you think you get an oz for your $400, you dont, you will get 15g at most for $400 depending on how many people enter, but gypsy said himself he is hopeing for between 20-30, so if he gets the 30 entry's, that will be the 15g for $400, I dont care how good your shit is, no weed is worth they prices, gl Ickis, will be interesting to see how your entry gets on.

Hey just because this is my view on this subject doesn't mean it is right. In fact it seems more people think like you people. I also don't think my weed or any other weed makes any price justified. That is supply and demand. I mean really weed should cost the same as lettuce or spinach. Like $3 a pound.

But to be clear I will clarify. It is not because how good the weed is because there might be better stuff available in the coffee shops. I don't think just because somebody can pay for the judges pass they are the best judge. This is the point some people are missing. It is the group of people you will draw from that the higher fee makes better.

If the judges pass is cheap SOME people will just buy them to smoke on for the time they are there and will fill out a judges score sheet in hindsight. The possibility of this has to be eliminated by making it more expensive to just buy the pass to party with it. The pool of people to try and get a judges pass will be made up of people wanting a deal on smoke and people who legitimately want to be judges.

If the judge's pass is more expensive than buying a similar amount at the coffee shops then the pool of people buying the passes is made up of strictly people who want to be judges.

Are there any other independent growers who are entering and all pumped up about it like me?

I guess I will settle in and relax until the judging happens.

Take care everyone and have a great time partying over in the Dam.

I think you both have good points ickis and fizzbomb.

But i think reality may be more gray then that ickis. I think that even tho it costs 400 this year, there may be some that can afford it and will buy it just to get the pass and beeing able to "brag" about the achivment to friends. Just becouse they can.
However, I fully understand the logic and agree that the higher the price, the smaller amount of such judges in the group.

And thus may justify the somewhat steep price :) Some may even argue that the price should be higher. And thus the 400 might be a good compromise.

just because you can afford the pass does not mean you are qualified to judge the weed. i prefer the american country fair style of judging. submit your entry and let a blue ribbon panel of experts make the decisions. the 400$ is alot to pay for an as yet unknown quantity of entries. if the last few cups are any indication, there will not be 56-70 people buying passes and to be fair all the passes must be sold or given out to provide a real competition. as it is there is only 2 full days to smoke all the samples and decide which ones are the winners.

Gettin close guys!! :D

I was just wonderin how late on friday will Judges packs/passes be available for pick up?

I got one from Seedbay and will be sending payment express (overnight) tomorrow, but I dont arrive in Amsterdam until 5 pm on friday (17th)... That too late to pick it up?

Everyone get there safe!! Lets not kill the vibe talkin about prices and worth and judges and what have you... One thing Im sure of is GN, OP, DG and the Seedbay/Boutique teams are not in the business of ripping people off... It is enivitable that we all have an amazing time!!! I have NO doubt!

Blessings

So how about this for idea, since the prices are mental this year, if you are buying the 2 passes, the indica and sativa passes do you get a discount on the hash pass since the prices are a bit expensive this year, ONLY if your buying BOTH passes, now to me that sounds very fair, what do you think??

I was hoping to judge in all 3 categories, but i dont think i'd be able to spend any more than the $800 for indica/sativa passes, it is a bit more than expected if there is just 10 samples in each

If there doesn't end up being many entries it would seem fair to give those who bought the other 2 a discount on it.

just for the record...the price of the judges pass includes the events that have been organized. A guest pass will cost something I would imagine. $400 an oz. for good to great smoke is typical where I am. Had hoped to do both indica and sativa, but will be happy to make a choice. I'm sure someone will share the other with me as I will share with others. Let's face it, cheap thrills are rarely cheap and usually not that thrilling.

$400 for an oz would have been very fair, but i thought gypsy said roughly 20-30 total, so that would be $800 for possibly just 20g.

There is a lot included and much effort must go into arranging it, so i don't mind paying extra, i just hoped there would be more samples for the price.
