Just upgraded to a Fuji Finepix S1700, has 12 MP and 15x optical. I am just learning the camera, using auto only right now. Macro also allows use of the optical zoom to get closer than the 5cm limit and flash, supermacro does not (2 cm).
Here's a couple shots of a flower in the garden, 1st macro and 2nd supermacro and a crop. Flower is about the size of a toonie (Can. 2$ coin). Not too bad, but I will surely get better with time....
I am liking this cam so far, has 10x the capabilities of my old one (finepix a400) ..
Didn't even realize there was a spider in the flower till I got home and uploaded the shots.
Definitely one of the better shots I've got so far with my new slr camera.
Im no photographer, thats a fact but I shot these pics with a $30 Chinese made Slick Simpleflix digital camera I bought at CVS to take catfishing. Made the macro lens from 2 objective lenses from a $4 pair of toy binoculars taped over the camera lens. I had alot of fun out of that cheap little camera. Still have it somewhere.
