I hear you but sadly there is an awful lot of prematurely orange pistols and I can see seeds building. Normally with a random nanner I agree this is solid advice, just wish I caught it sooner.
Are you going to continue to finish them and have your own supply of seed genetics. Good luck to you.

This seed will be garbage in my opinion. Especially the self pollinated and herm crosses. Whatever brought out the hermaphrodite trait was absolutely minimal. Meaning the Sour Lemon is way to prone to do it again.

There is a single Mob Boss plant that did not Hermi at all but caught some pollen. I would consider popping some of those if I was able to grow more plants at once. Since I stick to legal plant counts it to risky for me to waste time on anything that may cause this problem again. While some would likely grow fine some are still likely to be hermie prone.

i'm not one of the master growers here
but i have experimented with the dreaded hermies
i did have a unstable plant, a brainwreck, hermied early and plenty of seeds
getting close to 20 grows of the offspring
50/50 chance of offspring being a hermie
the other plants were solid females, no way you could tell the mom was a hermie
the intersex trait is a bit mysterious, you never know what you have unless you pop them

50/50 is not odds I want to mess with. Were the seeds you ran from the hermi itself or the non herm plants it pollinated?

I'm in a tight space so just a couple pollen sacs getting past me can cause a lot of harm. This round four out of five Sour Lemon hermed. Leaving one Mob and one SL that didn't. This was the risk I took by growing bagseed. I think the Lemon plant these seeds came from was likely prone to begin with. I would rather work with something more stable. I'd feel differently if I could pinpoint some type of stress that caused it but again these girls are in fine health and no heat or light issues. I could be missing something or forgetting an incident during early veg.

seeds were from the hermie itself
i do 1 plant grows so a little more tolerant of it
50/50 is actually a lot like growing regular seeds
the hermies i saw appeared early and spotted easily, call 'em confused males
but i do understand every situation is different, not everyone will like the risk

In the past I've tried to hold similar genetics after having some late in flower nanners. What I found was, if all went well the offspring didn't show hermaphrodite traits. The problem was that if anything went wrong at all the offspring would start spitting nanners. At same time my other strains held up with no hermaphrodites even when I lost power for two days straight.

So yeah I agree that each situation is different. Hell I've made it whole flower cycles spitting pollen without getting seeded by taking the plants out for daily inspections. Like Terpene pointed out pick them off and spray down with water if you see any yellow sacs. I'd just like to keep incidents like that in the past !! Lol

Obviously I should have said spitting sacs the whole time as opposed to spitting pollen.

ive ran many different 'hermies' all but two went fine, however you only find out about that when its too late so dont trash em but save em for a raining day or toss em in the salad!

One pheno is looking more done than anything I've ever seen at 40 days. Wondering if the early pollination made it finish faster or if I stumbled on a super fast lemon pheno.

back in the day, almost all weed in the bags was pollinated
and some excellent bud indeed came from pollinated plants
it's the quantity that's the killer, huge loss in the part we use

Indeed the first crops I grew ceiling from standard Mexican bag seed. Some were truly special.

What I'm wondering is if by being pollinated in the second week of flower made them finish faster than if they went without being pollinated. As if the plant figured her job was done and got to finishing in about the time it takes for seeds to mature. (Actually a pretty wide window in my experience but see seeds bulging out of sacks in this case)
