wow! Lovely colors as usual!

@Terpene: I think you've grown Kali China or a cross, I would say mine (a fem) is the squat, columnar pheno, but this is my first ACE run... I didn't top her, would you allow her to grow as is (i.e. tha SILs will have enough penetration for its final height), or would it benefit from training?

Kali China is on the Left back corner:

After my training:

I trained mostly the two at the front right (Guawi - Tai-Chi) and Nepal Jam #2 (rightmost center). Zamaldelicas stalks are really thin and seems I got the FIM right.

Should I tie them also in addition to crushing and bending? Or depending on the plant (i.e. tie the zamaldelicas instead of crushing them) please don't hesitate on pointing out any mistakes...

As a general rule, if you have the space - train everything for the flattest canopy you can. Screens, LST, bending, etc. all work wonders for increasing output.

In my case, I've just gotten lazy. I am growing plants to 8 inches tall, then flipping them and letting them go vertical. Its not a particularly effective use of the space (especially compared to Mr. Sparkle / Blynx and so many others in this thread) but I can toss a ton of plants into my wannabe SOG area and I don't really need them to yield cause I barely smoke anymore

I really liked how the wood frame SIL turned out, but had to properly finish the ACE tent SIL and I wanted to put to use what I already had: six E27 3x socket multiplier, and the octopus cabling.

Design:

picture.php

Black: 2700K Philips 11W
Blue: 6500K Philips 13W

Total power: 199W.

Intended to cover a 60x120cm area max for around 25W per sq ft.

I recycled a plastic fruit box as frame:

Each multiplier screwed into the octopus sockets leaving the plastic frame sandwiched between socket and multiplier:

The wooden frame IMHO is much better and cheaper to build; I built this one to make use of material I already had. Had to manually tweak the sockets contacts as some weren't making proper contact.

May be easier to build for some. Pros: really light.

Radical!
Like the idea with the plastic case.
I'm always torn between finally building a proper rig with sockets and wiring and all for my bulbs to cover my whole 2'x2' / 60cmx60cm, or use multi holders to be able to adjust better to different plant heights for optimum lighting for plants in different stages of flowering
Right now I use only two 7way sockets, hung individually...

You use organic soil too, right ? Do you find it lasts all the way to harvest or do you supplement teas or something during veg?

Cheers and best

Got the 12 string at harbor freight for 14.99 and ordered the 4 string socket adapters to keep watts 14 x 4= 56 watts under 60 watts is what UL recommends...now i gotta dump all these 1-16 clear bulbs.

Glad you liked it :tiphat:

I guess a single covers-it-all canopy hood requires you to either use canopy management techniques (a breeze then) or using bricks/inverted pots to prop up and raise smaller plants (more clutter).

This is the great thing about SILS, extreme flexibility: as you do, you can also "distribute" them at different heights for differing plants even with different wattage or K color temp SILs.

I've been using the "octopus like" SIL with different incarnations and undoubtely the best thing about it is you can "reconfigure" or re-purpose it in a drastical and safe way (but for the exposed SIL PCBs) in a matter of seconds.

No, I grow in coco indoors. This summer will be my first organic soil grow (outdoors).

I noticed they can be more food-demanding when you dial-in the SILs/environment if that's what you meant...

Yeah I like the cleanness of a single fixture for the whole space, but I don't want to mess around with bricks and boxes and shit...
Also the multi holders allow for running single plants better, although I guess I coud just turn off the bulbs with no canopy under them if using one big fixture...
I guess for now I'll stick to what I have and get good results with, especially since I try not to grow too much as I'm really having a hard time smoking all that ganja hahaha.

Glad you're giving organic living soil a try, it has changed everything for me (for the better)

This topic is great. I didn't believe these small led bulbs were efficient, but with the info found here I decided to try in my microgrow and I'm totally satisfied!

PC grow with 2 bulbs 9w, 1 bulb 13w and 1 bulb 15w (this one I kept the plastic cover but gonna take it off for next flower). Total of 46w in a 41x16x40cm. Vase is around one galon (3 to 4 liters), perlite/peat and Maxibloom feeding

Strain is a cross of mine that is already discarded, didn't like it that much to be kept

kudos for the scrogging skills Bahseado!

Looking into gpw figures, betting you'll hit the gpw!

What are the color temps of the bulbs? Have you observed differences on canopy reaction/formation under different light temp bulbs?

That plastic backed unit is brilliant. I always end up doing it with .5-.75" plywood and then everything ends up weighing a ton.

If you want more adjustability, there's no need for buckets and bricks - just split the panels up, one for short plants, one for tall and you'll get the indirect benefit of side lighting the taller plants with the short ones. If you wanted to go for broke, you could run banks of bulbs at staggered heights to accommodate pretty much any height.

I prefer an even mix of 3000k and 5000k bulbs over all one color or the other. All 500k worked, but you could tell they wanted red light to add some material. All 3000k produces good size, but the flowers finish with less frost.

yummm.... delicious! Have you thought on creating a Cannabis Almanac with your pics? Never seen so many different and brilliant colors as in your pictures! I'm sure there are suitable colors / frosts in your pics for all seasons

Yep, that's another alternative! utmost flexibility.

Terpene, in your experience do 6500K help in the frost department as 5000K? (5000K being more elusive to find around here). What is the proportion you're running lately? with even you mean 50/50?

How about a 6500K UV-B CFL instead of 5000K LED? I ran all 2700K last round and was really dissapointed, the yield was pretty much the same as with all 4000K and UVB, just less of everything (smell, taste, frost). Even the genetics were supposedly better than before, but that didn't help.
