Thanks for the information on the vaportek wall cabinet. That is going to work PERFECTLY. I didn't have room for a carbon scrubber, and was reallllllly worried about the smell. This should do it. Thanks again.

Also, my local store owner said the carbon "sacks" suck, just FYI.

Ive been running the new vaportronic for about a week now and it does work great. Id say that if you have less than 5 flowering plants (strain dependent I guess) then you should save your cash and get the tronic. If you want piece of mind or have a larger grow, then the vaportek is perfect, Id say 10 or more (again strain dependent) flowering plants and you should definately go with the 4000, just to be sure.

I know alot of people that use the 4000 with upwards of 100 plants :yoinks: It is rated for industrial use for up to 10000 sqft. so that can give you an idea of its power. I leave my 4000 on about the lowest setting it goes and I still hear from my girl that the smell is too strong, but it is a nice clean refreshing scent IMO.

Small closet grows or smaller - vaportronic
Full rooms or larger - Vaportek 4000

Id say that about sums it up IMO

Heya trust, I replace the cartridge on the 4000 about every 1 1/2 to two flower cycles, probably about every 6 months or so. I keep the setting on low (1 or 2 out of 10) and it is at full effectiveness for the first 4 months, while the last two months it is less effective, but still enough for my OP. I use the 120 day cartridges, they also come in 60 or 90 day I believe.

It does seem that the cartridges last longer with lower smelling strains, my afghanm was very low odor and lasted at least 6 months, while my current grow including sssdh and trainwreck seems to be taking the loife out of it much quicker. Id say it'll still go the full 6 months, but no more.

Take care

No problem trust.

I dont want to base my entire judgement of the vaportronic (wall unit), on the broken unit that I have, but the disks are indeed drying out very quickly. The smell is starting to linger a little outside of the mom closet. I have a brand new one on the way, probably gonna try and put the humidifier right below it to see if it helps any. Hopefully I can get the 12 pck of disks to last at least 2 flower cycles, if this happens then I'll be happy, but this unit doesnt even compare to the 4000 so far.

I'll update when I get my new one :D

Take it easy

from what i've read in this and other threads, the vaportronic would be able to cover up 6 plants and 30 feet no problem. people have been using the vaportronic on the lowest setting for 3-4 plants

there's another huge thread about it in the growroom design forum, it's near the top cause i recently posted in it :)

guerilla,

would you recommend the vaportronic (wall unit) for a 6-8 plant grow in a 36 square foot cabinet?

I think it would work fine, the only drawback being that you would probably have to chenge the diskes rather frequently. I just got my new unit in, so I'll let you know how long the disks last for, I have 2 of 5 in and the setting on low.

If you are at all worried though, if you live in an apartment or somewhere where odor control is a top priority, then I would go with the 4000 for piece of mind alone. If you have the cash, its worth every penny IMO, but I do think the tronic would work for ya as well.

Best of luck

^----- How long would you say the 4000 cartridges last?

Ive had my 4000 for about 9 months now and IME, they last about 4-6 months depending on the setting. I keep mine as low as it goes and depending on the strain, its good for anywhere from 4 -6 months, if it goes 6 its usually not as effective as the first 4 months.

Best of luck
