And yes I'm in the United States. And I've seen firsthand the dispensories grow in numbers while Obama has been President. Do a Google search and learn something. I also know 2 people that are in prison still to this day for MM while Bush was in Office that wouldn't be under the current Obama policies.... How quickly people forget......

I also remember telling the people from Cali that wanted 19 to fail that if it did the Govt was going to see what was going on and they would crack down on things because of the amount of money people were making. It's the way it is people. The Govt isn't going to continue to let people make tons of tax free dollars. You had a chance to legalize. You chose not to. What do you expect? They're going to get their piece of the pie one way or another. It's the way it is, and it's the way it's going to continue to be. I wish it wasn't that way, but it is......

Exactly. I voted for Obama, and granted I thought he was going to do a lot more than he did and not allow himself to be bullied by the right. I am profoundly disappointed he did not fight harder and that he was not liberal enough. But at least with him we have a chance, and even knowing what I know now, I would do it all over again. He was the best viable option, and he still is. With a 2nd term, maybe he will finally feel free to do what he really wants and that may include better mj policies. If not, he won't be any worse than any other president we've had since the 1980's. If you elect one of those other assclowns as someone so eloquently put it, things will be a lot worse. It is a shame some are so tied up in negative emotions that they can't see straight and think before talking!

Yes it is true that one could argue that perhaps compared to other oppressed nations we have it better our right are not stepped on and so on.

I live in a state with no compassion and make a modest living from it illegally as well as give away enough to supply the needs of 5 other medically challenged people who can't even afford to buy it. I do this at great risk and the penalties here are medieval. But i'm not whining. I'm fully cognizant and made these decisions willfully.

I wish it were legal here so I could pay my fair share of taxes and be respectable white trash.

By the way, every republican president after nixon's first term including the 2nd nixon/ford term left an increased deficit. Every democratic president since roosevelt has decreased the deficit.

This is all the justification mmj opponents need to shut down or never start up their programs. Or what about existing, totally legal dispensaries whose banks and credit card companies have now been told very unambiguously they are subject to prosecution just for handling the proceeds from (federally) illegal drug transactions? Doesn't matter if any of the AG's threats are ever followed up. They only need to put the fear of the DEA into a relatively few people to throw a monkey wrench into the progress that's been made in recent years.

Sort of like how terrorists don't need to actually kill anybody to make people do some crazy things. Just the threat of some new kind of terrorist plot has led to government-sanctioned child molesting in our airports. I look at it like this, any president with the COMMON SENSE to further the progression of our society through revoking the police state style policies that is reserved for our most non-threatening of citizens over something that harms nobody, probably will be the same president who will make the actions that others are afraid to do out of fear of their political career.

Too many people look at marijuana and think "oh well, its just some weed we have more imporant issues...." not really taking the time to realize how many billions of dollars are wasted on keeping marijuana illegal. How many lifes are ruined over having a record / going to jail. How many crimes go unsolved because police are busy with petty marijuana crimes. How many peoples freedoms are infringed on over something as harmless as weed. How many people are killed over robberies or raids...

Its not just about weed, its about the right to live a life without fear... Its the right to being an american in a society we claim to be free. Drugs are a social problem, not a criminal one. We should let doctors treat the sickest in our community, not judges.

There are some here that understand the world a little more than others. I'll be the first to admit I have no clue why political operatives inflict such damage on a nation of gullible souls...but...I think I have a damn good idea.

Don't take my comments as political-leaning one way or the other. I'm registered "independent". I don't "conform" to left wing or right wing. I'm not going to be controlled by empty rhetoric from anyone.

Over the years I have observed a two party political system that uses government policy and various forms of media communication to inflict their agendas on a sometimes very naive people.

The solutions to most problems in any nation are very obvious. You cannot name one major problem that any nation is experiencing that does not have a simple solution. The solution may not be in the best interests of everyone, but there is always a simple solution.

Most people are convinced that only the "elite" can understand and resolve the issues facing us today. That's total bullshit! Almost anyone can look at a problem and, given the proper information, recommend a common sense solution.

Be it the prohition of cannabis, the soaring national debt, unemployment or the energy issues we face...ANYONE can recommend a solution that will succeed. The only exception are those people who are mentally disabled or politically/financially motivated.

No member here can point out an important issue that afflicts a nation that cannot be resolved.

The only brick walls that stand in our way of improving life for all...are pride, greed, laziness and ignorance.
