It's at the top of my list! I almost went for some BOEL x Cherry bomb from Swami, but really just want the pure Oaxacan. That cross is probably great, but this strain is so special, I want it by itself.

I saw some being grown in another forum too and they're such graceful plants. The guy says he plans to sell some seeds in 2026. I've not been around long enough for other options, so I'm planning to be first in line for the opportunity!

first time growing this

the wider leaf boel oaxacan stem rub is exactly the same intense lemon cleaner smell as the oax i am growing

I put a whole pack of zac in 1/2 litre pots on 11 hours with some Thai I was gender testing, the reviews were meh so I didn’t bother taking cuts, just using up spare seeds for a bit of smoke from the corners of the tent.

6 females, 5 meh, this one was unexpected. STRONG lemon smell and crazy uplifting effects that wipe me out if I smoke a whole spliff, first sample I almost binned it for being too strong, now I’m trying to reveg it on the kitchen counter.

Beautiful plants! Which Oaxacan is it?
this plant from dr gt's last oaxacan clone 20 years ago..he gave it to me..it was good resinous weed but too much sedation and smelled like catpiss..I selfed it..I grew out s1’s..got good plants still with too much sedation..
grew more out a decade or so later..
and found one very long flower insanely long skinny leaf plant that smelled strong lemon pledge..and string of pearls flower style
I selfed that plant and got these..strong lemon cleaner..normal looking not hard to grow gems

I have two cuts.."puffy and chunky".chunky is not that chunky..

I vac sealed puffy and got tight buds lol..it maybe as good as chunky..I will harvest chunky in a month
and not let it dry out like first time..

I am attempting to self it now ..

re Boel Oaxaca..

I am growing it now ..they smell like the cuts I have but are more wld

think they may be up there to..and maybe chunkier lol..I will reproduce them on fem...if it get a male and female

I should be done by spring on both..

I was surprised

Hoping to grow Oaxacan or Acapulco Gold someday soon. I'm practicing my technique on some Gypsy Nirvana Thai Stick x (Neville's Haze 21 x Mullumbimby Madness). I once grew a Neville's Haze that I called Acapulco Thai because it had lots of Thai traits but was golden colored even as a seedling. Not to start trouble, but back in my day, a long time ago, Haze was considered Colombian x Mexican x Thai x South Indian. To avoid going too far off track, A lot of things were called Haze in California if it was pure sativa. No reason that Haze purists need to get excited.

Whose to say the Mexican in Haze wasn't Oaxacan Gold or that Acapulco Gold wasn't Oaxacan Gold. Those was are rhetorical questions. It doesn't really matter. The very best has a way of getting around.

I appologize if I'm too much of a trouble maker. I'm just showing off my golden cured buds. Someone gave me some Mexican seeds and called them Oaxacan Gold. I think it was just a guess since the buds were golden. He called it mind warping, so I'm hopeful. I'll start those seeds next September. I'll hope for something that looks like the buds in this thread.

awweeeeesome! so cool and jealous I can't get old school genes here in Costa Rica. Had some really great plants and have a great place to plant. But I left the property and the people keeping care of the dogs, didn't watch my weed plants :(
PS I'm trying to get seeds. I'll be growing again sooner or later. unfortunately they only sell the hydroponic stuff here, so no seeds ughhhh

Green Mountain Seeds carries the Highland Oaxacan Gold (HOG) strain preserved by VermontMan since 1979. My intro to Oaxacan was 1974 and it's always been my gold standard, so I went on a search for it and found the HOG. I can't vouch for it yet. I'll be growing it outdoors here in Portland for the first time. My original thinking was the latitude was too high for an equatorial sativa, but VermontMan insists it's ready for harvest mid-October and is Botrytis resistant, so a little rain is ok. We'll see.

If any of you have grown the HOG before, please tell me how it went. And for those of you that remember the original Oaxacan, tell me how the HOG compares. I'll get back to you in October with my report.

Please don’t be under the impression that Vermintmans Oaxacan is pure Oaxacan.

I've been wondering. VermontMan says he preserved his seed strain from a 1979 brick that made it's way to Boston. My intro to Oaxacan was in 1974 when a quantity made its way to Long Beach CA via a reliable smuggler, and I know for a fact it was the shit. In over a half century of smoking, I've never run into any strain that does what Oaxacan did to my head. It's smell was unique - very, very piney. And the high the happiest I've ever experienced by far. I'd love to grow that strain outdoors, but I figured that Portland isn't the place to grow it.

But then I ran into Green Mountain Seeds and VermontMan online, and I read his long personal narration of how he grew his first crop in Boston (42d latitude) back in 1979-1980. How that it was ready for harvest in mid-October and that a hard rain didn't bring on any mold. So I decided "What the hell" and bought some beans. If it can be grown outdoor to harvest in Portland (45d latitude), I can grow it. But I'm still wondering...
