I watched this documentary called Future of food.
there was some conversation about oaxacan and mexican corn varieties and how they want to keep their landraces clean, but U.S. monsanto gm corn seeds are starting to mix with local varieties :(
There is such such a large pool of food plant genes too in middle/south america.
They must be preserved, and luckily Mexicans seems to realize that.

I see quite a few people in here have been to Oaxaca to score.

Did you have the connections previous before you went? Or did you just meet them there? Did you have any trouble with the police?

I used to have a friend that lived in Mexico City. He would go down to Oaxaca and send me qp's of unpressed Oaxaca sensi still on the branchs. Got a small collection of some fine lr genetics from them. It's MUCH better when not abused and shipped thousands of miles.

I get a few bricks of stuff that looks like this from time to time. Very fine smoke even considering the abuse it takes on its path north. Very cheap also, commercially going about $500/lb on average with not too much seed but I save what I can.

This will be off topic but I find it an interesting sign of the times. When the corporate corn comes into your field and corporate finds out about it they often like to sue you for unrightfully using their corn genetics.

For One the United States has huge stock piles of land race genetic (foods) for replacements in case of blights. I do not know if they go so far as to collect individual land races from other countries, but they must. The idea is to be able to say, grow corn again with original genetics if the case of a blight destroys a corn hybrid or what ever food they chose. Knowing the government, they probaby do that with MJ too, because they may find it useful in the future.

tis the season...

to be jolly?

Do you know what $10 buys beginning in about a month?

The weed rolled in newspaper makes the memories of the Oaxacan I found in El Zocalo in '00 come flooding back. It was lime green, super frosty, and tasted like hazey piney goodness.
