i only have 1 15 amp circuit in the room and i need to power 4 1000 watt lights, a 12,000 watt ac which is already too small, and a dehumidifier. and since the ac is too small i gotta add a second portable ac now. to do all this i need to run 5 maybe 6 extension cords down stairs from the attic cause the biggest circuit i got downstairs is 20 amps

dam TK ...... the cord on your AC sounds like the least of your problems. you need to make a few upgrades real qiuck! do you own the house?

take a pic of your breaker box and post it. if you have 2 empty slots, you can cover you're whole room with just 1 40a breaker, and sub panel.

i cant really do that cause im on the top floor and theres an apartment below me. plus i cant hire anyone cause no one knows i grow and i dont want them too. down the road though im gonna need your advice cause i got a washer and dryer in my apartment that has a high wattage hookup at 220. i think the breaker has a 30/30 attached to each other. in the future im gonna add 4 more lights right next to the washer and dryer and i need to know what to buy to create an outlet that runs 220 in the room

cut the plug. you'll have the same 3 wires, just 2" shorter.

a gfci is a ground fault circuit interrupter. it turns off all power to the unit should it get wet, or the ground shorts out. it keeps you from getting fried/burning down the house should something fail. they are on hair dryers or anything that could come in contact with water. you could swap out your wall outlet with a gfci, and probably should since you won't have it on the plug.

no but in the future im buying it. trust me it fuckin sucks to not be able to do what i want with electricity etc im kind of stuck. if i could do whatever i want i would just hire an electrician to do everything for me and instal central ac. id have to do it in a way to hide the grow though

you don't have access to your breaker box? or would you be running wire to a basement if you were to upgrade?

The fuck?
What kind of timer(s) are you using for your lights? Youre going to need to get yourself a light controller!
Youre not really going to run 2 ac's are you? Theyre both portables?
Respect man! That takes balls!

its no big deal i use digital timers for the lights on separate cords. as far as the ac's yes im gonna run a second ac. i got a window one now and im about to buy a portable. the way i see it a need a portable one anyway for the winter cause the window one freezes sometimes than il be fucked. i still dont have enough btu's with my window one though so sometimes they will be on at the same time on seperate breakers

So, how many dedicated circuits?
My room has its own dedicated panel and everything, but I couldnt run this much gear in there safely!

Most homes out here have 100amps! Youre in an apartment?
Must be an expensive timer if it hasnt caught fire yet running your 1000W's.
good luck! You have big huge giant balls, sir!

the timers are meant for 15 amps 1 light only uses 10 amps. other than the small cord that just fried everything else is set up safely with thick extension cords i just forgot to replace the small one

just because you are using 5-6 different wall outlets (receptacles) doesn't mean you are using 5-6 different circuits. Make sure you have smoke detectors in every room and fire extinguishers.
