You can get a simple liquid pH test kit for about five dollars at any decent grow store or nursery supply shop.
Those ten dollar stick in the dirt soil probe meters are useless just like stitch said.
You mentioned that the pH stayed @7 the whole grow.
I know from trying one once, they'll read just about the same no matter what the pH actually is. In other words, they'll show you @7 even though the soils actual pH is several points below 7.
Any grow store or salesperson selling those junk meters needs to be given a few solid e-slaps.
