.....sort of planed to use the same organic soil mix and big containers i used in the greenhouse......i am to old to dig holes :smoker:

Growing in planters is pretty much the same anywhere. Nothing beats rotting bat poop, fish guts and compost for heathy plants.

You have moved 'bout 10 degrees North, just enough to see the Sun lower in the sky and up for a little bit longer during the days.

As CS pointed out, all those glaciations deposited vast amounts of high quality top soil in the great lakes basin. Couple that with a mild climate, predictable rain fall and you get some of the most productive farm land on the continent.

Strain selection? Almost anything you choose, select for quality.

On occassion, the C.Sativa dominent strains give me a bit of trouble if the frost comes early.

and of course my ducksfoot can be a problem if I have to take them into Nov.

One of these days I'll figure out why some flower a few weeks after the others of the same strain.

River, for some strange reason, I doubt you'll have any problems with your new strains.

ND, I'm at 13 hours and 13 minutes and I don't see any tap roots yet.....what's up with that? :biglaugh:

Enjoy

Sorry Cap't...I guess they like the snowy cold of the north...they'll work...if not, I've got hundreds...LOL...Another day and another mail delivery..some NL x BB and a nice White Rhino cross..I'll have to get those into some towelling later...So all plants are doing well, I'll get some pics up tomorrow...hey has any of you guys ever grown out Lowryders??..I have 5 going and this little suckers have shown sex at 15 days...is that about right??..I grew out a couple last year but don't remember when they showed..anyways hope all grows are well and remember to....stay safe..

That sounds about right. I couldn't believe it the first time I saw tiny buds on a seedling.

Something must have happened to the normal flowering inhibitors, even the Early Girl crosses grew to adult size before flowering.

Instant buds. :D

I'm not worried ND....I was thinking about putting them under my pillow but, maybe I should cover them with last nights fresh snow!

They'll show sooner or later. I've still got a few in reserve if need be.

Now where are those pine needles and swamp water..I need to start them out properly.(Sorry ND I couldn't resist)

Hey Guys

Hey Guys

Hey Guys,

Good to see some people here from ontario, especially fomr northern ontario.

This is my first time growqing in the northern part of ontario. Being fronm southwestern opntario i have a different terrrain. I know the land up there cause i was raised int he area but i need to know anythig you guys would like to share.

Please critic my strain choices.

M39xFreezeland - Toronto Seedbank
Raspberry - Toronto Seed Bank
Skunk69(feminized) - Toronto Seedbank
Fast Pine - Ontario Seedbank

Now everything except for the fast pine will be going in the ground as clones.
I also have the thought of a black widow x c-99 for another variety.

If you could tell me which strains out of those i should lose or keep it would be greatloy appreciated.

Also any other tips would be great ..growing around the mid northern area...between barrie and sudbury

Hey there Cap't..and it's good to see those babies open up..OK..so far I have 3 for 3 on the UC...2 for three on the UC x MT......1 for 3 on the Ak47 x MT 1 for 3 on the PP and 0 for three on the surprize...hey that's great...I really wanted the UC and now I have a bunch going...I also started some NL x BB and some White Rhino x Romster 19(?) I'm three for three on those..they were really fast...I have one of each DB, G13xHP, Schnazzelberry#3, MadMan x Siskleberry #3, C99 x PanamaRed and another one ( I'm a little high right now...LOL...) sexing now and have been for 5 days..they're shooting right up...lots of other plants should be ready to go into the cooler this week..hopefully clone cutting in three weeks...I'll make my 250 count no problem...then I just wait for the swamp ponds to thaw out and the pine trees to get uncovered and away I go...he.he..BTW that's a nice pic
Hey there Mayor Uhana good to see you...what latitude are you sitting at..seems like we have someone from every area..I'm trying the NL x BB this year..I'm right on the 45th..anyways stick around..it will get busy soon..
thanks all for dropping in...good to see the OG gang...stay safe..

nice thread ND!

good looking babies too....
can't wait to see how it coes...good luck!

Howdy all and welcome
thanks for dropping in...It's been real busy in the bunkie in the last week and I though I'd post a couple of pics to show you how things are doing...All beans have popped and are well on their ways..I recieved a few NL X BB and some white rhino X's from a friend and they too are up and going..so that makes around twenty strains up :woohoo: ...a group of plants are sexing right now and more will be added to the coolers soon...I use big coleman coolers for sexing..just drop them in and keep things at a 16/8 schedule....I have a couple of Lowryders going as well..they will be repoted this week..Now after sexing all ladys will find their ways into bigger pots and then the cloning begins..I learned to clone from a faq that Leaf made over on OG and when the time comes, I'll explain exactly how I do it..

This is a shot of the sexing plants..hopefully lots of girls

This is the next bunch to go into the coolers..these ones have been topped and I gave them an extra week to get over it..

Now the next two shots I guess I was shaking when I took them..sorry

The next three pics are just some of the smaller plants and some seedlings..I started from the left and worked my way right..

And this is just a shot of a few G13 x HP..they look great..

So that's it for now..any questions please don't hesitate to ask...enjoy and ...stay safe..

Looks like you've got a great start on things, all the kids look healthy. How long do you have until your last avg. frost? Is that a foliar fert. in the spraybottle? and is it considered an organic?

You must be running the bunkie heater full time these days, I hear it's still Winter back East.

Do I understand your using the coolers for dark period while the bunkie is on extended day lighting? You open and close the cover as needed for light control.

Hey there pipelinethanks for dropping in...around here you can get frost right up until the end of May...but it's usually over mid to late April...thats why I water all my plants with cold water..that's the temp of the rain they'll face when they head out..and those ferts are good cheap stuff..the Musky I've used for years..it all organic and it's mix and pour..the terracycle is wormcasting tea basically...you can foliar feed with it..I'd just delute it a bit when the plants are young..
Hey Stoner..yes winter has arrived..but the mini furnace is keeping the bunkie just right...yes I use coolers to sex..all I do is stay as close to a 16/8 as I can and they show in 10-14 days...its in the bunkie so the temps are fine..it worked great last year..and as an extra precaution..I cover the coolers with a dark sleeping bag..no light gets in..any new pics my good man?...stay safe..

New pictures, always aim to please.

Humm... You have the bunkie on 24 hours of light and your sexing them with a 16 hour dark period. That sounds like a great fit for a morning and afternoon visit to the bunkie.

I grew mine out with 12/12 photoperiod, they showed at 23-25 days from germination. Now I have them back on 16/8 and expect to see them put on some vegetative growth.

Yes, you have that right..I like a toke in the woods but it's better in the bunkie with the radio on..plants growing all around you...gotta love it..the plants are really taking off this year..I think it was the milder temps we had when I started them..lot's of snow last night and more on its way...at least it's warmer..yes I try to stay as close to my schedule as possible...although there are many floro's and cf's going in the bunkie..it's dark in the coolers...easy in and easy out..only problem I ever get is the stretch that starts...I've had to lean some over, they were too tall for the cooler...LOL..that's another reason I started earlier this year...I want to get them sexed earlier..hope all is well...any word from smkn???...I hear you can't register on here right now...stay safe..

Great thread, will be watching. Especially looking forward to watching the UC. This plant is hardcore :headbange

2 questions tho...What did ya guys say the derailed blues was? I think I remember reading last year on OG that it was like TW x ? ?? Second question; whats a bunkie ?:D like a garage or a spare room, an attic is what im thinking...?? Seriously, my southern ass is stumped...

Also would like to agree with whoever said it takes a small crisis (OG shutdown/RC bust) to make ya appreciate some familiar faces. So true, so true...I feel tighter with many og'ers now than I ever was before the shutdown.

Anyways, good luck everyone.
