Thanks fellas. Its going to be a battle with the weather. everything looks more or less good for the moment, but the heaviest winds are yet to come. i have been out there re-staking some tie-downs here and there, but for the most part its holding up.

Great job on the easy up tents bro. They looked like they did the trick. Glad you made it through the storm. You survived what can be the scariest part of the year for first time growers and you busted ass to make sure your girls were covered. Hope all is well and we get some dry weather soon.

Thanks HL. They aren't easy ups. They are 30$ joints that have to be tied down on two axises at each corner. we beefed that up with additional tiedowns that go over the top of the canopies as well as anchoring the corners with some serious redundancy.

just to clarify the obvious (to some), 100% humidity air blowing at, say, 20mph is still 100% humidity air blowing on your plants. mold will develop shortly, and invariably,in such a situation.

These are even cheaper than "cheap vendor tents" of the ez-up variety. It did require 3 people to efficiently put these up, so I would consider a bunch of those ez-ups for next year since they can be handled by one person in a pinch. it'd be pretty sick to make some with 6 mil greenhouse film for the canopy.

Homeboy doesn't think its worthwhile to cover plants when the remnants of a typhoon spend two days dumping on the garden. I may be a noob, but I decided not to take his advice. granted, mold conditions will bring on the mold, but adding a bunch of rainwater to the recipe is not going to help get past the risky damp and rainy days.

I am being a bit of a pussy and leaving them covered till this 20% chance of more showers passes. I am looking at the radar and seeing small pockets of weather forming randomly over the region... it would feel really stupid to pop their tops and get a shower for my troubles.

Trim family is here now. Good to be surrounded by the greats. They are all novice trimmers, but I think they will do the job. Makes me thankful that I didn't purchase a trim machine and call off their help.

burnedout: no more sherpas. new paradigm. however, i am looking for collaborators on some product development projects. I am looking for a person who can take a concept from idea to prototype and then into production. Looking for somebody inventive and motivated. Someday, there will be an employemnt want-ads section on ICMag. I am considering different firms that do this sort of thing, but I would prefer to work with a freelancer who smokes dope (but functions). I've considered posting on the Oaksterdam U website, but I dunno... sounds like a security breach to me. I have associated with other growers from ICMag, but only after due confirmation of bonafides. An open invitation to the sea of fresh faced ganjapreneurs that place must be churning out... ew... I just threw up a little in my mouth... swallowed it. i'm good now.

So, I am feeling like the Chems are nearly ready to come down. Looks like the biggest, fattest colas are coming from the OGK. The Sour D seems to have done better in the balcbox, but I seem to remember it getting a whole lot fatter in the last few days... I may be just telling myself that because I was expecting bigger colas.

Headband. I am thinking about another week.

GDP. Very dense colas. This is the strain that I was most worried about molding in the bad weather, but she is showing no signs. She has really exploded this last week, so I think she's a day or so behind the chems... though, at the rate she is going she may surprise with an earlier finish. I took her down early because of botrytis in the black box, so I have no indication as to what she'll do relative to the other strains.

Blue Dream. She could come down tomorrow or the next day. Not sure.

Anybody have any opinions as to when on any of these?

They all look do-able to me. I have been accused of harvesting a little on the early side but I am a big fan of not losing buds to mold or worse. Get em in if the timing works with your schedule, space and crew. They are all going to look great in a bag and that is what usually counts around here. Once again great job and congrats. Hope you are having fun with your crew.

its so good to have the soul homies here.

i took everything down too early in the hoop house. the finished products was beyond my expectations, so i'm not kicking myself over it... but this time around i am wanting to go as long as I can, and my schedule/space/crew and the other pertinent factors could live with a slower pace. Obviously at the first sign of mold or more serious rain and wind, they are coming down if they are able. Only the trainwreck really needs a matter of weeks to finish.

i try to grow it like i would want it, rather it be in my sack or yours......i like my herb on the strong side..........and on the heavy side.......

ur taking the opinion of someone who has smoked alot of herb around the usa over the last 10 years.........i think 98 percent of it was picked earlier than i would.........

not to say, several times, for several reasons ive had to cut early.........indoor and outdoor.........

but now that i have battled the storm with 80 percent of my plants.......i feel like i can still finish them......ive heard of people letting blue dream go till the 1st week of november...........i will certainly let some go that long under tarp......but not many..........looks like they will be best around the end of october...........

thats just my personal preference though........half the time i cant harvest my plants when i WANT to........

i will show some shots of my afgooey soon..........haven't cut .

wow... can't believe you haven't cut your afgooey (assuming its the same thing as mine and fisher's "Goo") mine was SO done when I took it down. Been (trimming it and) smoking it for the last few days, and while I am not super impressed with the smell or taste (uncured obviously) the stone is sublime... daywrecker shit.

dizzle: are you referring to the headband as asked at the end of my last post? or just in general about all the strains pictured?
