its likely that my cut is the one that came out of OR... it comes down in 11-13 weeks "grower's choice" from what I was told... but those who let it go 13 are rewarded. 12 weeks is the minimum run by pros.
GT's cut looked like pure Haze and had some of the thinnest blades I've ever seen. The cut I got out of OR sounds more like what you have and that went about 12 weeks. Also was told the OR cut was pretty old. I did not work with the OR cut much due to some problems and lost it pretty soon after I got it. For sure some distinct differences. When I met GT around Dec 1 of that year the colas next to the supplemental lighting were still flushing new pistils...lol...so sounds like they are not the same.

Funny thing really..

I didnt think id see a cutting of the cough until a pro or og in the growing community warmed up to me later in the season..

But i was at my soil guys place and meet a co-op of 10 guys who grow out by the lake. It was their first year but they were motivated to do it this year becuz an elder around these parts wanted to have them help out with the land lease fees. So he's helping making there pots (out of wire and smarty material i guess) and giving them some cuttings that didnt make his garden final cut this year.

So they said i could have my choice (they had at least 30 strains)... i got a SSH and a Casey Jones... anyway back to the point, sorry rambling..

They were going over what everything was and they said.. thats the cough over there...
I said THE COUGH or strawberry cough...

they said its the STRAWBERRY cough... but WE HAVE 'THE COUGH' in the other room!

They said the guy wasnt even interested in having it in his outdoor garden because it takes like 13 weeks to flower... so if i want bud around thanksgiving thats the way to go...

Sounds like the cough. Post a pic of the cut and I will let you know if it looks familiar.

Has anyone used the Green Fields yet? I haven't even opened a bag to check it out. I am putting a new 18 x 300 gallon smartpot garden in and am looking for something I can just throw in and plant in right away. I was going to just go with the Roots Organic but if this is more high N it might be the way to go.

I got 4 pallets of Greenfields. I figured, wtf? Did a couple of pots in the main garden and I'm going to do the entire back garden. I'm going to need a couple of pallets more of dirt... not sure if I'm using FFOF or greenfields. I guess it all depends on delivery times. Ag Unlimited will drop ship the GF to my door. Last time it came the day after I ordered it.

So I will probably wind up with the GF in the rest of my pots and beds.

Wish I had a spot for another 18x200. I am pretty much maxed out here. Got the means for dirt, etc... but nowhere to put anymore pots. Anybody got a farm with great sun and water?

HL: I have been looking for any completed grows with the GF, but have had no success. Will look again tonight and post up if I find anything.

So what do you think of it not having grown in it yet. Does it seam heavier than the Roots ORG? I see you are adding more perlite. What is the added N in it? Chicken Poop, bat guano? I have been unimpressed with the FFOF over the last couple of years.

Looks yummy... its sort of patterned after FFOF... added kelp and marine meals... guano... I don't have the bag...

"Similar to FoxFarm's Ocean Forest, Roots Organics Green Fields was designed with greater water holding capacity, less perlite and pumice, and specific ingredients like fish & crab meal, worm castings, bat guano and kelp meal. A super-premium potting mix, it's perfect for large containers and heavy-feeding plants."
-from AI's propaganda

I add perlite to everything. I want a nice fluffy soil that roots can explode into... I had a real heavy mix last year and I'm going entirely in the other direction.

the stuff feels and smells real nice. I think I like it better than FFOF, but I really have nothing to tell you except that it feels and smells nice. i guess we'll see how it goes.

I've got an Aqua Serene store, the owner does the Roots line, close by and have known one of the guys behind the counter for many years. Said GF is their FFOF knock off but better. Have heard many people saying for a few years now they're not happy with OF any more.

An ag consultant awhile back recommended http://www.fullcirclecompost.com/ as the best soil available on the West coast. They have everything from pure compost up to a true soil mix. They said were looking at bagging but for now available in super sacks either like 1 yard or 2,000 lbs or something like that by the pallet.

We formulate our products to meet the unique challenges the Sierra Front has to offer.
They've done like 1,000 soil tests in the area and have amended their mix to compensate for local deficiencies but am sure it'll be great for anyone anywhere.

Something else I wanna add here is you guys should take a look at the microbial products from www.tainio.com as I see peeps talking about monitoring sodium levels. They've got a strain that will convert sodium to potassium. Sounds crazy but at one point I did talk to Marc Tainio, his dad Bruce that started the whole thing died recently, and verified an experiment was done in a closed vessel and the Na disappeared and K levels spiked...pretty freaky. I know of an ag consultant that uses their stuff on high sodium soils to get rid of it.

Also...more for Planty I guess...do you do any sap testing like for brix, pH, and also sap EC, K, Na, and NO3?

planty

Yankee Grower - Hell yes. The sap tests show how successful the work being done in the root zone is. I take multiple samples from all over the grow room or yard label each sap sample and then test NO3/N , K , EC , pH , Na to tell me how i'm doing. I don't want to geek out about it too hard here in nomaads thread though so I'll leave it at that...

You can get the Cardy meters I use @ www.specmeters.com

planty

I toured the Fox Farm production plant and immediately swore that stuff off..Was like 6 years ago. Ya'll wouldn't believe that Ironite finds its way in to ocean forest floor, but it does...

I can't imagine how much they've gone down hill since that time.

How come no one likes Pro Mix or Sunshine Mix #4 or Black Gold?? These are consistent high quality mixes that come out of a bag with no problems or funk associated with them. you can do whatever you want with them...

Who knows how well and how much of all that shit AI mixed in to any of their bagged soils or what they even started with or what they're bagging now? I don't. But I do know what I mixed in to each and every one of my beds :)
