I think I comprehend spin now.

one polarity chasing another, never catching or gaining ground, yet always ready, always attempting the impossible...like the self-righteous discourse we've had to endure from both sides.

i'm right. no, you're not! I am....around and around we go.

the ego is an awful master.

what happens when science discovers there is some unknown power guiding, nurturing, empowering mortals to become like gods?

the scales will fall from the eyes and the light of love will be in everyone.

my concept of 'god' has evolved since catholic catechism. it is a personal transformation lacking anything to do with church or religion.

the wonder revealed through science, thank you.

...the delicate balance remains. the one becomes two, the two remain one and never the twain shall they meet.

That is not just spin that is the nature of human polarity that is EXPLOITED by those who see it and have no qualms enslaving humanity for their own purpose and the masses involved are too embroiled to see it

yes. that's why I've developed my own understanding outside convention.

taking word on faith of an entity beyond description defies reason and there have been no testimony of personal experience to validate that faith...

the most fundamental I've been able to fathom are the two that are one, beyond that I must trust a power indescribable.

it could be some quirk of nature, it could be 'god', I don't know, i'm still investigating, but i'm sure it isn't as stark as black and white.

Elohim refers to more than one so the pantheon is not discounted. many ancients refer to more than one also, ie: astrology.

Correlation between various theories and interpretation of the name of "the one God", used to signify a monotheistic or ultimate Supreme Being from which all other divine attributes derive, has been a subject of ecumenical discourse between Eastern and Western scholars for over two centuries.[3] In Christian theology the word must be a personal and a proper name of God; hence it cannot be dismissed as mere metaphor.[4] On the other hand, the names of God in a different tradition are sometimes referred to by symbols.[5] The question whether divine names used by different religions are equivalent has been raised and analyzed.[6]

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...443px-Kircher-Diagram_of_the_names_of_God.png

do all the different names refer to different 'gods'?

in all cases 'god' is the supreme being regardless of names or symbols. whatever you believe is your prerogative and you're entitled to that belief, not so sure you're entitled to deny or disprove existence.

you think someone would put a testimony on here with the reaction thats possible from those that dont believe in anything bigger than themselves?are you fukin crazy?

I may be crazy thinking someone could actually garner a glimmer through their gilded armor.

belief and disbelief are but different degrees of knowing.

we are both right, and we are both wrong.

4. The Principle of Polarity

"Everything is Dual; everything has poles; everything has its
pair of opposites; like and unlike are the same; opposites are
identical in nature, but different in degree; extremes meet;
all truths are but half-truths; all paradoxes may be
reconciled."--The Kybalion.

This Principle embodies the truth that "everything is dual"; "everything has two poles"; "everything has its pair of opposites," all of which were old Hermetic axioms. It explains the old paradoxes, that have perplexed so many, which have been stated as follows: "Thesis and antithesis are identical in nature, but different in degree"; "opposites are the same, differing only in degree"; "the pairs of opposites may be reconciled"; "extremes meet"; "everything is and isn't, at the same time"; "all truths are but half-truths"; "every truth is half-false"; "there are two sides to everything," etc., etc., etc. It explains that in everything there are two poles, or opposite aspects, and that "opposites" are really only the two extremes of the same thing, with many varying degrees between them. To illustrate: Heat and Cold, although "opposites," are really the same thing, the differences consisting merely of degrees of the same thing. Look at your thermometer and see if you can discover where "heat" terminates and "cold" begins! There is no such thing as "absolute heat" or "absolute cold"--the two terms "heat" and "cold" simply indicate varying degrees of the same thing, and that "same thing" which manifests as "heat" and "cold" is merely a form, variety, and rate of Vibration. So "heat" and "cold" are simply the "two poles" of that which we call "Heat"--and the phenomena attendant thereupon are manifestations of the Principle of Polarity. The same Principle manifests in the case of "Light and Darkness," which are the same thing, the difference consisting of varying degrees between the two poles of the phenomena. Where does "darkness" leave off, and "light" begin? What is the difference between "Large and Small"? Between "Hard and Soft"? Between "Black and White"? Between "Sharp and Dull"? Between "Noise and Quiet"? Between "High and Low"? Between "Positive and Negative"? The Principle of Polarity explains these paradoxes, and no other Principle can supersede it. The same Principle operates on the Mental Plane. Let us take a radical and extreme example--that of "Love and Hate," two mental states apparently totally different. And yet there are degrees of Hate and degrees of Love, and a middle point in which we use the terms "Like or Dislike," which shade into each other so gradually that sometimes we are at a loss to know whether we "like" or "dislike" or "neither." And all are simply degrees of the same thing, as you will see if you will but think a moment. And, more than this (and considered of more importance by the Hermetists), it is possible to change the vibrations of Hate to the vibrations of Love, in one's own mind, and in the minds of others. Many of you, who read these lines, have had personal experiences of the involuntary rapid transition from Love to Hate, and the reverse, in your own case and that of others. And you will therefore realize the possibility of this being accomplished by the use of the Will, by means of the Hermetic formulas. "Good and Evil" are but the poles of the same thing, and the Hermetist understands the art of transmuting Evil into Good, by means of an application of the Principle of Polarity. In short, the "Art of Polarization" becomes a phase of "Mental Alchemy" known and practiced by the ancient and modern Hermetic Masters. An understanding of the Principle will enable one to change his own Polarity, as well as that of others, if he will devote the time and study necessary to master the art.

Trying to explain to people that prosperity and poverty are one in the same just vibrating on different ends of the pole is a difficult task.

Within the Kybalion it states, "this book will find you when your ready"
This could not be further from the truth.

One very difficult feeling to understand that happens to be the main cause of suffering is desire.

Desires can be so strange due to the nature of neurotransmitters we have connected by our ways of thinking through life.

We may not think that negative or awful feelings are desired, but they are. The Ego is no joke.

Our greatest friend is also our greatest foe, the self. The Self is ultimate when it becomes the one true self, minus the Ego and its desires.

Unconnecting old ways of thinking also unconnects desires that we have become aware of that we do not want anymore.

This process creates a tidal wave of new positive thinking which in turn starts the ball rolling for constant enlightenment, from big to small.

Eventually bringing us to "The All".

Meditation, a good diet, and Bikram Yoga expedite this process on the highest levels.

The BHAGAVAD GITA is another fantastic read.

one thing to be polarized, another to see it and a whole other to bring it all to balance.

they are all parts of the developmental process, some are just further along than others, a inheritance of choice that can be forfeit by submitting to impulsive desire bringing forbearance of consciousness.

people think ego is a complete choice, a decision to be haughty and have an inflated self worth.

This isn't the true meaning. Our ego is greater than that.

Here is a great video by an engineer about a wager to ride a bicycle that has had the steering reverse and the almost impossibility to do so because of neurological wiring.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFzDaBzBlL0

Nothing super natural to this, nothing fantastic, just an example of how our experience wires out neurological response. It proves that you can know something without being able to understand it enough to actualize it because the limits of our neurology.

He also showed that eventually, if you don't give up, the brain has enough plasticity to adapt.

Amazing stuff. No belief in ANYTHING required. No gnostics, agnostics or atheists were harmed in the making off this video. Embrace reality, it has its rewards.

how come we are the only species that evolved with an ego?

Actually Gene your wrong we are not the only species ,, with your so called Ego.. look at intelligent social animals, such as dogs, chimps, bonobos, elephants, and dolphins. These creatures all have instinctual drives and methods of expressing them in their environments. And, since they are social, they are also affected by their cultures.

Disciples of Jesus found in the so-called "old testament", really? oh my oh my, this is gonna get interesting if you go and look and find none of that there...
:

Oh you got me there, I accidentally typed old when I meant new. I guess that's a fair slip of the fingers for a non Christian though.

not quite the vatican is the leader of false religion imo.its the harlot thats been drunk on the blood of the innocent spoken of in revalation.to think that they are anything but corrupt is nonsense.

The Vatican is the culmination of the religion the Romans created when they realized they weren't going to end Christianity by simply throwing the Christians to the Lions.

...god would have to be the ultimate sadist and murderer to destroy all those "other religions".

It's this notion from the bible that most makes me doubt it's truthfulness. I mean Christ's teachings were all about loving thy neighbor and thy enemies. In the other religions there are many that practice that concept in their daily lives and yet if you take the bible literally they will not be saved because they don't believe Christ is the Savior of mankind. How can a god of love kill billions simply because they don't belong to the proper religion?

yeah shit man everyday i see those creature creating weapons with their thumbs to kill each other with because they share different beleifs.holyshit my head is spinning

Do you think animals have a imagination like you????? obviously they do you believe in some make belief god , that has never shown his true colors , but you except it.
It has to be true cause of whats written by a bunch of Cave men haha litterally that never met god / or jesus either sounds pathetic ??? to me it does ..
Its like sending money to some one or something that you never met or seen and will never meet or see,, would you send money to something like that ???
it better be yes because
Sending money to something you never met or seen , or know is the same dam thing as believing in a god you never met or seen or really know

But lets look at animal imagination we see it in young animals Cats for instance use roll of yarn to mimic its prey ...
Chimpanzees have used American Sign Language to refer to objects that are not present. Dogs often pretend that they are attacking toys or other objects.

I once watched my dog charge a cat across the street, but the cat stared him down and did not run, so my dog changed immediately to a nonchalant walk as if he were pretending to have crossed the street just to have a look around. He gave the cat a wide berth. (Admittedly not a great example, but it was very interesting to see the way my dog was apparently trying to preserve his dignity through use of a ruse

Not sure about you but i have seen my dog dream running in there sleep whinning etc
This alone is a indication that animals have a imagination, they have thoughts , and ego's
look at a alpha dog or lion or what ever they have ego's

thats so it can learn to hunt which is survival.animals dont have the ego nessecary to kill for any other reason besides food.if they fight for territory its because theres food on it period.what species of animal can have a discussion like we are?i forgot humans are the special species that evolved more than the rest for no apparent reason.

hello people it takes an ego to kill for any other reason than survival.humans are the only species that does this.why cant anyone see that if evolution is true this is what we evolved doing to each other and thats fucked.im happy there is religion out there because evolution doesnt offer hope to sad folks.at least in religion god created everyone equal.in evolution some evolve more than other and therefore are superior.
