Well, I waited an extra day to water to see how the girls reacted to an extra day without water. Lights on and everything seemed OK. 12 hours later at lights out, the BB and one of the OGs were wilting like crazy! We got blasted with a heatwave and had July like heat, which didn't help. At the next lights on, I gave them all a healthy dose of water and will not go more than 2 days without a watering from here on out. The BB recovered nicely though she yellowed up quite a bit. The OG recovered but has extensive fan leaf damage and no longer even looks like the same plant as the other OG. She will pull through but I anticipate a hit to the yield on her. The BB actually looks like she is starting to really pack on the weight and may start getting flushed in another 7-10 days. The SD is finally starting frost up and fill out nicely but she will need to go past 85 days most likely. The other OG looks in good health but the buds on the OGs still seem a bit on the small side. This is my third run of an OG cut, and I have yet to really finish one that I am really satisfied with. This one may be my first, but now in the 7th week, she better start bulking up. I will get some pics up this weekend.
The clones are going strong. I accidently snapped a branch on one of the BB while LSTing. I splinted it up with a toothpick and some permacell tape. The leaves stayed healthy, perky, and green. I checked the wound out today, and has healed enough to tell that it will make a full recovery with another weeks time. It is still splinted with the toothpick for safety, but it looks like it could hold it's own. I will post some pics of the battle scar with the next update as well.
and the buds start rollin in very nice man, this reminds me of my grow a few grows ago...cant got wrong with LST expecially with the ecsd, its a beast...
In my last update, I mentioned how one of the Larry OGs wilted after going one day more than usual for watering. She lost most of her fan leaves. Not a pretty site. Here is a shot showing the two OGs side by side. The interesting thing is that these girls have been grown the exact same way. Same watering schedule and nute regime.
the leaves on the healthier OG are starting to go purple
some OG buds
was planning on taking the OGs 70 days, but it seems like they may need another week. I will start flushing them and cutting nutes out after week 9
Next up is the ECSD
looking better everyday
she will go 12-13 weeks most likely.
Last up and the furthest along is the BB
She got her last feeding yesterday and will only get water for the next 2-2.5 weeks. I plan on taking her about 10 weeks.
A couple group shots of the ladies
And the next generation with about 5 wks of veg under their belt. I forget to get a snap of the BB's broken branch, but the splint is off and the branch has healed to the point of supporting itself OK.
here they are in bondage...
temps have been great the past few days, hopefully fall/winter weather has finally arrived for the season. In the home stretch now for sure.
thanks for taking the time to stop in and comment on the progress of my humble closet noob grow. I can't wait to pull this harvest in and be able to take a nice break from getting my meds at the club. Don't get me wrong, I love my clubs, but my wallet does not.
some of these girls may take longer to finish as the heat in the recent past seemed to slow these girls down. temps now are great. hopefully summer is finally done.
Here they are at day 53.
True Blueberry
done feeding, on straight water. Does she look like she will be ready in another 1.5-2 weeks?
East Coast Sour Diesel
a bit airy, but she has a bit to go still. at least 4 more weeks.
Larry OG Kush
they should be on their last week of feeding, but they seem to far from finishing. I still feel like they should be fattening up soon though.
Here are the clones still veggin out. They are overgrowing the space I have for them. Thinking about topping them all again in another week. Can't wait to get these girls blooming.
Cannabean, thanks for the magnified image in the reply! Pardon my html illiteracy, but how did you accomplish making the image larger?
The cool temps have been blessing me this weekend, and the girls are responding to it. There has been accelerated growth and bulk in just the past 2 days!
True Blueberry
Now on a water and molasses diet with about 1.5 weeks to go.
EC Sour Diesel
frosting up nicely. about 3.5 weeks left.
Larry OGs
these girls have made some serious progress since the last update. with about 2.5 weeks left I estimate, they should be getting their last feeding in a couple days.
here are the clones. been veggin for around 7 weeks under a bunch of CFLs. They are getting topped again this weekend for sure. The plan is to transplant these girls up to 3-5 gal pots and get them into flower as soon as the current run finishes up. I will take clones again right before they go into flower.
hey NKM really nice grow... I'm also growin some EC Sour Deisel along w/ mendo purps, apollo 11, and "the White".... I'm havin trouble keepin the ec sours from stretchin.... i've topped em twice so far and keep the light pretty close to em but they just keep shootin up long stalks.... this is my first time workin with EC Sour... any advice???
she is a beast isn't she. multiple supercroppings and LST and she still grew taller than all my other girls. I have read that FF open sesame can help reduce stretch. Since I picked up the FF soluble tripak, I will be giving it a try on the next run. I wonder if a product like bushmaster would help to cut down on stretch?
3 days of hanging, 4 days in the jar, burped twice a day.
waiting to next week for the first toke.
I rarely check weights, but I estimate around 2+ oz. Buds are a bit fluffy, mostly due to the late summer heat and my lack of environmental control over it.
smell is getting a little fruitier everyday. Smoke report to come next week.
I enlarged the photos in my thread for an enhanced experience...
picked up some EJ organic ph down (citric acid i think) to replace the GH chemical solution. When it comes in, I plan to start using it with the clones.
I also picked up some rare earth as a silica additive. Thought it couldn't hurt to see if it would help the plants thrive a bit better in my less than ideal environment.
The temps have finally cooled around here. Fall has arrived. My next run should be loving it.
OGs will get chopped within a week. The Sour D within 2.
NaturalKaliMeds have you considered using simple lemon juice for PH down?? I'm growing totally organic and i was using a sulphuric PH down (cuz im stupid..). when the plants werent responding well (developing "rust" on the leaves) i took a reccomendation to simply use lemon juice and the girls are lovin it!! nice and cheap too plus totally organic!!
my apologies for abandoning this diary. The grow was in the summer and the heat caused so many issues. I pulled the BB early, the ECSD came out loose and airy, and the OGs ended up harsh with very little potency. I got rid of the OG clones, it is just too picky a strain for my environmental limitations.
I did run the SD and BB a couple more times during the fall and winter and ended up with stellar results that I am much more proud of...
from day 62
here are a couple of the monsters finished in 5 gal bags
some nice BB bud shots
some ECSD shots
Since this I have given some cuts of DNA's Kushberry and Recon a run, but had to ditch the SD, BB, and the DNA cuts.
I'm back though! currently running a variety of clones...
I will be sure to start a new fall/winter diary when all the action goes down!!!
