NIRVANA SEEDS FAN THREAD

I recently purchased some seeds from Nirvana seed bank the old fashioned way.... mailing cash in a greeting card with a wish.... 3 weeks later my greeting card (from the redlight district) returned

Got a 5 pack of Aurora Indica and a 5 pack of Papaya and the 10 mystery beans for free...I popped 2 each of the Papaya and Aurora into paper towels and they sprung inch long tails within 36 hours, another day later they were all above ground.. now I have 1 papaya thats a lil bit of a straggler but I'm ok with that...

I also acquired a clone of Blue Mystic from a buddy I've seen it veg and flower, and got to try a lil bit of the finished product, All of which I was impressed...The veg plant has great structure and sturdy branches to support the nicely sized buds... flower it doesn't have much odor which is nice for the more discreet grower... The buds are thick and a bit cone shaped.. Nice berry undertones in the smoke :good:

Some new shots of my Kaya Gold cut, currently at day 43.

Looking to be finished quicker than last time it would seem!

Just waiting for her to fill out, just gave her a last feed before giving her a week or two plain water.

Anyone else noticed the changes at Nirvana? Perhaps they have new ownership?

1. In the past year the discontinued more than a couple strains.
2. In the past year they introduced more than a couple new strains, akin to a new generation of Nirvana.
3. In their descriptions they mention a 'new and invigorated team'.
4. The order form from their subsidiary, John Doe Seeds, got a new address.
5. The order form from their subsidiary, John Doe Seeds, got a new look.
6. Last week Haze was more than 50% off, albeit not advertised. The same was true for White Rhino. Simultaneously, their Raspberry Cough was advertised as on sale.
7. A few days ago the prices on everything went up.

These are just some observations. Perhaps other people have noticed additional things.

What are people's thoughts about this evolution of Nirvana?

JohnDoeSeeds.com is no more. It now redirects to nirvana's website.

They have introduced a few more new strains.

Haze and White Rhino continue, into month three, at $15-20 for a 10 pack of regular seed.

I would run those at least a week longer, maybe two. They look very healthy, but not done. Have you flushed them? That sometimes gets the green out.

Reading this thread, I got excited about the cherry pheno of AK-48.

So I tried to germ the last of my AK-48, but came up snake eyes.

They were some old beans, and I didn't store them with any care, so I don't blame Nirvana.

What's some good cherry seeds, anybody?

Four years back I got a cherry luden smelling plant out of my fem AK48 beans. That was wonderful smoke and buds. Hell, I'd try again, I got 10 seeds of fem AK48 chilling in the freezer mason jar right now.

Nice! The cherry pheno is the most sought after pheno.
Nirvana AK48 also has it's own webpage: http://www.ak48.com

I've broken down and ordered northern lights and ice.
Only way to find out if these guys are good or bad is grow them.
I do believe 1\2 the negative reviews are from folks that have never grown it they parrot whatever they hear.
What grows I've seen by them in skilled growers hands has been good.
Hear say kills it's the worst for a business so I'm going to run these over next 6 months and I will be back.
I've grown a few cheap freebie seeds thru the years royal queen and female seeds to come to mind they were pretty dam good smoke.
Looking forward to trying Nirvana I'm not cheap but I refuse to pay 200.00 for a pack of seeds.

the new hype plant thats going to be going around seems to be a pheno of nirvana's papaya lol so absolutely you don't need to pay $200 to find some heat.

So, Nirvana opened its doors shortly after the loss of the original Positronics, and I can remember when they were dissed, basically, for being the original knockoff seed co., but, with that said, how many original dutch seed co's still get many great posts about their gear? Nirvanas old discountinued lines had many gems in em, and alot of the old lines are missed by many. Nirvanas current offerings get a good deal of praise, as well. Every pack is a crapshoot as with most offerings, but, even today, you can still get two packs of Nirvana gear for one pack of another breeders/seedmaker gear. I believe their prices and the quality of the plants have what kept them afloat all this time, good business practices (as far as sales are concerned, how they aquired their original stock is another story).

Anyways, enough jock riding, point of post is they are worth every small penny you pay for.

:)
