Jock Horror pheno question. . Are Jock Horror's nute sensitive? Anyone with previous grow experience with the Jock's and your experiences would be helpful. My papaya and bubblelicious are loving the 1/2 strength Schultz H2O combination too. Thanks.

our very 1st grow was nirvana seeds... white widow, ice, and jock horror- the ww and ice were good...BUT... the jock was insane... being old and stupid we didn't take any cuttings, and went thru another '2' packs and never found that special lady again... it was ass kickin- we tried jack herer thinking we would find that lady...NOPE... she was/is gone...

that jock was the best weed we have ever grown (in 15+ years)... nothing we have grown since has come close...

it is up there with the black hash we were getting back in 69/70... at least we have the memories

I just ordered some NIrvana autos: blueberry kush, AK48 and Bubblelicious. Has anyone grown their autos before? I have organic soil with perlite and garden lime added in 2 gallon pots with one 400 MH and one 400 HPS going 18/6. I have 4 open pots right now because I have 4 GSC, 1 fruit punch and 1 GG#4 up and growing. I will not top these autos. I'm leaning the blueberry kush, but I did get a ludens cherry cough Drop AK48 3 grows back and that ganja was wonderful.

I have not grown their autos before, but I like your selection. I'm looking for ultimate bubblegum thrills as well as blueberry dreams. Nice find on the AK48. I might still have some of those stashed away. I've read other good reports about Nirvana's AK48, but never had too much luck with it myself. Gotta pop that other half of the pack to find the good one!!!

Anyone else noticed the changes at Nirvana? Perhaps they have new ownership?

1. In the past year the discontinued more than a couple strains.
2. In the past year they introduced more than a couple new strains, akin to a new generation of Nirvana.
3. In their descriptions they mention a 'new and invigorated team'.
4. The order form from their subsidiary, John Doe Seeds, got a new address.
5. The order form from their subsidiary, John Doe Seeds, got a new look.
6. Last week Haze was more than 50% off, albeit not advertised. The same was true for White Rhino. Simultaneously, their Raspberry Cough was advertised as on sale.
7. A few days ago the prices on everything went up.

These are just some observations. Perhaps other people have noticed additional things.

What are people's thoughts about this evolution of Nirvana?

interesting, but might not a big change
they've changed up their offerings/prices a good number of times
a 'new and invigorated team' is not usually a good sign
also interesting about the address, maybe lower priced office space

EDIT: 1 other thing, some of their 'sativa' dominants, such as raspberry cough come from the sativa seed bank
i've seen those seeds recently discounted, but they are carried by some places as nirvana seeds
they have a relationship, nirvana is kind of a consortium of breeders(or at least were)

Actually, I think Sativa Seed Bank is Nirvana's premium or elite line.

Wish Nirvana'd bring back their California Orange Bud, that was some good shit.

that could be, does kind of jibe with what is offered under that name
the old Cali-o had some really nice reviews back in time
i got the ones just before they stopped selling it
it was good, very legitimate nose and flavor, stonier than i was hoping for though

from recent threads ive read, nirvana seeds are now harbouring very poor genetics. ive not grown them but I really have wanted to after reading most of this thread but after researching everywhere else, the consensus is that they have gone down the pan.

Perhaps with the changes in the Netherlands cannabis scene (e.g. Weitpas) operating was difficult for Nirvana?

I have not seen substandard Nirvana genetics recently, but perhaps I am in the minority.

Nirvana apparently has more than one subsidiary. John Doe Seeds is a site where you can order and send cash rather than use a credit card and avoid shipping fees. They only sell Nirvana seeds. Their prices (and updates) are always the exact same as Nirvana's site, minus shipping prices.

Yes, California Orange Bud was great smoke. I miss it too.

In fact, John Doe Seeds used to be a link on Nirvana's site, but that disappeared about a year ago. John Doe Seeds alloneword Dot Com. Look for yourself.

My papaya, jock horror and bubblelicious fem plants last year, recent purchase from Nirvana show no decline is quality whatsoever. You can get a bad plant from any breeder on one or two seeds. Just ask Dank Frank, but I've used them over the last 7 years and have been very happy with the ganja grown. Who ever is badmouthing the brand must have not grown many of their products/seeds over the last 5 to 7 years. I'm happy as hell. Now trying some of their autos.

I agree wholeheartedly.

I've been using Nirvana seeds since 2001 and have always wondered why people complain about them.

I think they don't understand genetics and/or they have an idea, even if it's an unconscious one, that there are 'magical seeds' or some 'magical process' for making seeds that exist only in certain seeds banks who are greedy in their pricing.

Even growing Nirvana side by side with Sensi Seeds or Dutch Passion, back in the oughts, I could tell no difference in quality.

With that said, I could sure tell a difference in price and people who willingly pay inflated prices for seeds......it leaves me scratching my head.
