Nirvana AK48

This is my first grow in over 10 years. Got busy with life and just didn’t have the time. Well back to our beloved hobby.

I chose Nirvana’s AK48 as I trusted Nirvana. I have ordered from them in the past and never had an issue. I chose the AK48 for its ease to grow and resiliency. I also like the sativa buzz.

I germed 5 beans and all 5 popped within 48 hours via the paper towel method.

Using a 1200 Greengo LED. Actual pull from the wall is 248w. I may add a second light.

Grow tent is 26”X26”X63”

Fox Farm Ocean Forest Soil straight up. Green Planet Organic Nutrients. Medi-One for the veg and Medi-One/W-8/Finisher/Rezin for the flower.

3 girls are in 5g pots and 2 girls in 3g pots. The “baby” was transplanted late in a 3g pot and is the only plant not to be HST.

Plants were started under 100w T5HO for about a week and have been under the LED for about 3 weeks now. 4 total weeks in veg thus far. I turned the “bloom” lights on tonight for the first time to run with the “veg” lights as I plan to flip to 12/12 within 7-10 days. May top one more time to get them bushier. I'm here also, I'm very interested in led lights at the moment. I'm using a cheap Chinese blurple to raise some seedlings at the moment with plans on buying a better led for a small tent afterwards.

GGNo2- this is my first run with LED’s as well. This system I bought is nothing crazy. About $125 on Amazon. So far though the results speak for themselves. Let’s he how well they do in flower.

Same here... On a restricted budget getting my room up and going again after a 15 year hiatus, I opted for a very similar 1500w LED. So I'm watching with quite some interest, as well!

I can’t wait for the end result. I’ve heard nothing but good things. I’ve always had good success with Nirvana beans. I’ve grown their Papaya, Maroc X Afghan, and AI. All were awesome.

Agreed. Mine were more indica pheno, but the stone was very nice.

I found similar was their White Rhino. Great plants, indica leaning, incredible stone, smoke was as rough as a $5 truckstop handjob.

Agreed. Mine were more indica pheno, but the stone was very nice.

Just a quick update. Girls are doing great. I topped one of the big girls and as well as as one of the smaller ones(Not baby). This is the first time I’ve ever topped a plant more than once. An even canopy is slowly getting there. I also added a little of dolomite lime to the soil as a dressing. I will be flipping to 12/12 this weekend. Waiting on my next batch of seeds to get here. The plan is to have a perpetual harvest of a few plants every 2 months.

If anyone has suggestions or recommendations, I’m all ears

I had a Cherry pheno of AK48 I found back in 04. Wasn't my type of high as I'm a heavy indica guy but she def had a strong head high. I did use her in a cross with a Sour D ibl male.

Looks beautiful. I am hoping to get a cherry pheno from my 5 girls. I had thought about taking a clone from each plant in case I did get the cherry pheno, but I don’t have much room. Did you notice a different growth pattern on the cherry pheno from the other AK48? I’ve heard other talk of the AK48 cherry pheno and everyone has raved about it. That AK48/diesel IBL you crossed sounds amazing as I prefer sativas to stay active.

was over 15 years ago but I do remember all of them growing very similar. All were sativa sided, pretty tall with descent structure that didn't need support until later in flower when buds bulked up. The cherry 1 had the best high of them, while it was a sativa head high it did have just a touch of body. Tasted like cherry cough medicine.
I should have popped the cross but instead I gave all the seeds to a Ri med group, this was Ri 1st year of med canna so a member asked if I would help.
