Haha, im not too far behind you in the age category. Well, what’s that saying, youre only as hold as you feel? So long as you get a decent amount of physical activity you should be alright for another 10 years at least. Like they say, 40 is the new 30, and 50 is the new 40?

Chicago isnt too bad if youre not a ‘corner boy’, someone who’s dealing drugs on the streets. Then you might get shot at by a rival gang who’s fighting over turf. Although with the internet now maybe most street drug sales happen online or over text, im not sure, but ive heard a lot of shootings nowadays happen over social media ‘beefs’, gang members insulting each other over facebook or Instagram. Seems silly and stupid but I guess that’s kids for you nowadays…

I actually got a CCW when IL had to pass a law when the US supreme court said we had to; I carried a gun for a few months but after a while stopped because it seemed useless at the time, I was hardly in areas that would be considered ‘high crime’ and it seemed more of a burden than anything else. The license lasted 5 yrs so im sure it expired by now, I could renew it I guess but eh, im lazy and don’t want to go to the trouble (need to take another training course) and spend the money.
Definitely if you ran into a poisonous snake I think that’s a good reason to carry a firearm but like you said, if it seems more of a hassle and expensive (like IL, CA has high fees for the training and the CCW license) then why bother? I guess so long as you can have a firearm at home is the most important thing.
But if you live in the country or on a farm like Pop a gun would be more useful, to protect against dangerous wildlife or put a wounded animal down.

I knew a guy who got into a car accident years ago where someone was actually killed, the prosecutors charged him with reckless homicide cause a blood test showed he had thc in his system but the real reason for the accident was because he drove a shitty van with crappy ass brakes, he skidded on some wet pavement and overshot a stop sign and a big garbage truck that was speeding clipped him and then hit an oncoming car and killed the driver. He was found not guilty because you can have THC metabolites in your blood up to 30 days after smoking but he had to go through the whole ‘criminal justice’ process but at least he’s not in prison.

my buddy lives on the outskirts of LaSalle county lives next to a few cops and he shoots guns and even makes pipe bombs that shake the the whole area and the cops respect him.they dont say shit.so yeah,rural IL is ok except meth is becoming a problem.but thats a problem for the whole country now.never saw this shit 10 years ago.

Well, the cop that arrested him got him to admit he had smoked a joint the night before (the accident occurred in the morning on his way to work). Ive seen this before from local news, where someone was involved in a fatal accident and if they admit to smoking with the last 12hrs or so theyre charged with felony DUI/reckless homicide. Usually those cases don’t end up in convictions cause juries are smart enough to know (and mostly likely have experience with haha) that just cause you smoked the day before doesn’t mean youre still high many hours later. But you know cops and prosecutors, they gotta lock people up, no one can just be a bad driver or make a mistake it’s always gotta be a crime.

Like everyone else, I had a glock 19. It was small and light and high capacity (15+1). But I haven’t seen it in years, I think the woman hid it from me or threw it out or something, she never did like guns… She lets me keep an old bolt action .22LR, so if i ever need to kill squirrels or rabbits i have that lol.

Sigs are nice, the seals used to carry them as sidearms but i think they carry the glock 19 now. If youre military and normally carry rifles then you probably hardly ever fire your pistol so it probably doesnt matter what they use for sidearms so long as it's reliable and accurate enough. I think the new standard US military pistol (replacing the beretta 92fs) is a sig p320, the army calls it the m17 or m18 depending on the size.

.40 caliber is a popular round for law enforcement but i heard that with advancements in bullet technology (bonded jacketed hollowpoints, etc) that 9mm offers greater capacity for about the same performance and thus US cops are going back to the nine. But if anything that means surplus police .40 handguns might be relatively cheap nowadays lol.

I dont think IL has a 'castle doctrine' in its laws but effectively there is no 'duty to retreat' so maybe it's effectively a 'castle doctrine'. Still, unless someone is trying to forcibly break into your home (kicking down your door, breaking through a window, etc), if you shoot an unarmed person expect the local cops and prosecutors to take a good hard look at your actions and possibly charge you with manslaughter or something if they consider it unjustified? If theyre armed with a deadly weapon (knife, gun, baseball bat etc) then i think you have a lot more leeway, so long as you werent the aggressor.

Tebow gave up his minor league baseball career with the NY Mets, he was in their organization for a few years but by now i guess it's apparent that he's not major league material. I heard that his old college coach urban meyer is going to sign him as a Tight end, good for him if he can actually contribute to an NFL roster in his 30's at a totally new position. If anything he's still really popular in northern Florida so his jersey sales will be popular even if he doesnt do much on the field...

The .22 bolt action has a nice little peep sight on it, kinda hard to see through but I was getting bulleyes on it from 25 yds. It’s such an old rifle, like something your grandpa might have used as a kid, not even sure if any modern scopes would have the right attachment for it. But it’s an option for sure.
I think .40 cal is flatter shooting than nine and I like the squared off nose shape, makes big holes in paper targets that are easy to see. There was a site called CDNN guns that are based out of TX, sometimes they have good deals on used glocks from police depts. A lot of them were .40 cal and were under $300, I think the dept replaced all their .40s with nines. Nowadays with the gun and ammo shortages you cant find those deals anymore lol.

I think tebow’s last year in the nfl he was training to play TE for the Jets, then he got into it with that boob Rex Ryan who said that tebow didn’t want to play TE but tebow said that’s not true at all.
Regardless, he’ll probably play some hybrid role like taysom hill, he can use his athleticism to pick up 1[SUP]st[/SUP] downs on the ground, maybe occasionally pass. Can he catch at all though is the real question? Taysom was a pretty decent pass catcher for someone who played QB in college.
Minstache is still on the jags, mike Glennon is a backup for the giants now. Hes going to be lawrence’s primary backup, it’s always nice to have a decent backup QB. And I guess tebow will be their #3 emergency QB.

Sounds like your new ‘sugar’ cuts will be ideal hash producers. I had a buddy who found a really nice strawberry diesel from seeds, stuff was so sugary that it would stick to the inside of the baggie, you’d have to rip it get it out lol.

Yeah brand new glocks are going for $600 plus now, and these used police trade-ins were like 250-280 a couple years ago. They were usually .40 cal though which I didn’t care for at the time, plus you don’t know how beat up or well-cared for they were. Even if the cop took good care of it he/she might have shot the crap out of it and who wants a gun with tens of thousands of rounds through it?
Are ghost guns like 80% lowers for AR’s? A guy I know once explained that to me, an 80% lower receiver for an AR is technically not considered a firearm and you can drill it out using home power tools to finish it out. But I guess the barrel and upper would still be needed and those have to come with serial numbers or something, not sure, but I guess it was a way to get an AR for real cheap, like $250 or less in parts if you didn’t mind putting in the labor.

Strawberry diesel was a big thing about 10yrs ago, not sure if it’s still around anymore. Is sour diesel still popular? I guess nowadays everything has been crossed and recrossed enough times that everything’s a hybrid of everything else, haha, maybe you just need to find the ideal plant from seed and then keep cloning it.

The KY Derby seems really popular with rich white people so not surprised a lot of athletes find their way there so they can hobnob with people in their social tier. Do you think Rodgers will really force his way out of Green Bay, Pop? The packers really don’t want to trade him but if he sits out camp and the regular season, or even retires, they have to do something. ghost guns are made from kits and dont have serial numbers on them
they are supposed to be untracable, because there is no paper trail leading back to the purchaser

That’s a good point about used goods, but sometimes the price is so good that you have to take the plunge haha. I bought some used apple monitors years back, those suckers were expensive when brand new and still have good performance and resolution, still work too although one of them the power brick is messed up and to replace those power bricks/cords is expensive.
Id actually guess most police trade-in pistols don’t have a ton of rounds through them, most departments probably only require shooting 20-30 rds every year to requalify. But some cops might be gun nuts and want to practice a lot on their duty pistol so maybe put thousands of rds a year through it. The barrel might be good for 100K+ rds but the springs and stuff would need replacing every so often.

I guess biden wants to pass legislation banning ‘ghost guns’ and loopholes regarding 80% finished firearms. As always, it’s a few crazy people who have to ruin a good thing for others.

Also, drafting a QB last year with their 1[SUP]st[/SUP] rounder, and a RB in the 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] round, both of whom were 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] string all year and hardly played, was a mistake cause if they drafted players ready to contribute like Tampa’s first 2 picks that could have got them over the hump and into the superbowl. And also not even telling Rodgers hey we’re drafting a QB when the Vikings told kirk freaking cousins before they drafted one in the 3rd rd was another snub. If you have the gawd dang MVP of the league (3x MVP now) on your team maybe treat him like one and not like he's not important?

In the packers defense, Rodgers from 2016-2019 wasn’t at his usual level, either from injuries or just his overall play. He still had an otherworldly TD-Int ratio in ‘18 and ’19, but threw for less than 27tds in each season and ’19 was matt la fleur’s first year as HC and it seemed apparent they wanted to go to a more run heavy offense (aaron jones had 19tds that year). So when Rodgers blew up last year and had his best season ever (48 tds, 5ints) and won MVP, rodgers said that ‘kind of threw a wrench in their plans’ (he was interviewed by Kenny mayne yesterday). I guess the packers thought he was declining and were grooming Jordan love to replace him in the next year or so, but him being Godgers again is like the boyfriend who dumps his girlfriend and she loses weight and gets a makeover and now he wants her back again lol. Maybe if they offer him 50M/yr he’ll come back, which would more than make up for any lost salary by holding out (he’s already lost a 500k offseason workout bonus).
Rodgers guest-hosted a couple episodes and wasn’t terrible but he’s not a favorite to win the permanent job. Maybe jeopardy will just rotate through a series of guest hosts for this next season before deciding on a permanent one, but ur right, it’s a gig that probably pays a 10 figure annual salary with the bonus of you can do it until your 80’s, like trebek.

You’d probably have to have a mass shooting every week for years before you got enough popular support to repeal the 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] amendment. Youre right though, it’s not the majority of gun owners who are law abiding who cause the problems, it’s the criminals who get their hands on guns through street sales and straw purchasers, and also the crazy ones, who cause all the disasters.

With electronics the improvement cycle is much faster than most other commercial goods, so youre able to find good deals on ebay, craigslist, FB marketplace etc for people who always want the bleeding edge of technology and are willing to sell their 1-3 yr old electronics for a good price.

part of the yearly improvemnt cycle is marketing and hype in most areas
how much better is this years iphone ove the last one (assuming it hasntbeen years to upgrade)
