You hear that, Buzz? Everyone wants to see ur butt. How did you jerk it, btw? Slow and loving, or fast and hot?
I heard @shithawk420 wanted a look at my butt so I am obliged to show something.
I rubbed my butt with a jerk and this is it going into the oven for a low and slow @250 (should have started earlier. The rub was a dark color so it looks like it was in the oven a while.
1740843555735.jpeg

This is my butt after I mopped it the first time. Just starting to get some color.
1740843631343.jpeg

The sweet potatoes were OK. I should have sliced them a little thicker. Cooking them was labor intensive too.
Prepping the sweets.
1740843834755.jpeg

Ready for the oven.
1740843878360.jpeg

Broccoli salad ready for assembly. I used less dressing this time and it was much better. Metal bowl has diced red onion and diced apple, raisins, toasted pecans, and small cubes of extra sharp cheddar cheese.
1740843954579.jpeg

Mama D made a pecan praline cheesecake. A drizzle of AlaGa Cane syrup across the top of the slice earned her a chef;s kiss.
1740844252860.jpeg

A rose and cabernet helped to wash it all down.

$tafford knows where the bread is buttered and why go to nyg or anyone else when you have a good thing going
the rams will draft more protection for him plus build on a decent team
i think we could use more help in the secondary and i would like to see another wr brought in
thanks for the run down on nyg and there is a reason why they arent on the radar i guess
it seems they are just thirsty and reaching for anything they can throw money at, maybe arog would be a great fit
its still time with a hot chick and she is motivating hm to do the exercises and maybe even pushing himself
and who knows what this could lead to?
/maybe @shithawk420 will get better and even come out stronger
those rubby tuggy places seem to be bad news and seem to come back to bite you in the ass; i would stay away
/but the dumpster is fair game
if all holes arent in play after the third or fourth date im out, but we all have our own standards
i want to improve my heath this year and just felt diet is a good place to start
more fish, chicken, lean meats you know
the salmon was good and i would like to work fish into the menu at least twice a week to start with
i will still eat crap but not as often

it looks like @buzzmobile has done it again! that is one juicy looking butt and i would love just a small taste
franken tounge.gif

what a spread of deliciousness! after you pull the meat do you put anything on it
/i like to add some apple cider vinegar
you have a sweet mandoline so you can cut the potatoes to just about any thickness with easy
when the kids were...well kids we used to make homemade potato chips
i like the thicker cut ones because it was like eating a round french fry but i would also cut them super thin and just fry the shit out of them and they were the best
that is a pro move keeping the salad components separate until its time to serve and broccoli is a super food they say
/i was talking to some friends recently about the veggies i need to keep around the house and brocolli was mentioned more than once
the prailine cheesecake looks amazing and i will be the first to say praline is an underrated nut
everything looks amazing brother!
mamaD gets the buzz chefs kiss!

i like big butts and i just cant lie! very beautiful buzz. not to kill the uh mood here but its actually a part of the shoulder.AKA Boston butt. dont remember where it got its name but that looks damn good buzz. hope you had some good bread. although plain white bread will do for sure.

made a pretty good pork loin yesterday.i seared it in olive oil and on its sides then i braised it in chicken broth and garlic and onions.turned out good but couldnt move fast enough. the loin slightly over cooked but still good.cooked it in a dutch oven. glad i didnt use the crockpot.

I was just joking.i would never use a rub n tug place but I thought it was funny ive literally got a few places like this like 5 mins away.i never see anyone and the curtains are always closed! Greasy!

I actually want a real deal honest massage.i need it.i actually just saw an old Seinfeld episode were he was dating a masseuse and she wouldn't give him one! Kinda funny

Oh baby, look at that butt. That's some sweet butt there. Scrumptious. <wipes drool away>
What are the dark spots on the chips? It's just salt and pepper? Yeah, makes sense that you want them thicker if theyre baked and thin for frying. Did u have a mandolin slicer or food processor to slice them up?

Even the broccoli salad looks good. What was the dressing, just mayo and mustard?
Was the cheesecake made with pecans from ur tree? Very nice. Even that cane syrup sounds good, never had one before, is it basically like maple sizzurp?

Mcvay and stafford seem simpatico with each other, every year stafford's been healthy theyve been a playoff team. Not sure if they can win another super bowl unless they draft another superstar like Puka on defense, although the two FSU guys should take another step next year.

I like big butts too, hawk, but im not talking about the shoulder muscle.

But seriously, I havent had pork other than bacon or ham in a while, i should probably make a butt or chops sometimes soon.

Ive never been to a rub and tug place either, i figure they have to watch out for undercover cops so theyre not going to bust out the 'extras' menu on ur first visit.
Maybe u should go to the r&t place and just get a real massage, Hawk, especially if it's a decent one and not too expensive. But u shouldnt keep going else theyre eventually going to offer you a reacharound.

that pork loin sounds awesome and thats another white meat i should eat more of!
im thinking of picking up a corned beef here at the store this week, they have the point cut and the rounds on sale right now, plus ill grab a head of cabbage and some carrots
this is just to get loose and you know i will be doing another one later this month
@superx what are your favorite side with corned beef?

@Bababooey
yes, mcvey and $tafford are both on the same page and i think both teams came out ahead in the $tafford/goof deal
i only expect the indian school kids to step up to the next level and with two of them that could spell double trouble for opposing offenses
add in another lb and a big play guy in the secondary and this could be an elite d

Those spots on the chips are bits of marjoram. Recipe called for rosemary and I did not have any in the house. Salt, pepper, olive oil and marjoram was the mix to toss the chips. We have a mandolin standing next to the bowl of chips above.

Matfer Bourgeat 215000 Details

If you're looking for a mandoline that can handle absolutely all of your slicing needs, look no further! The Matfer Bourgeat 215000 stainless steel mandoline can cut slices, sticks, potato chips, wafers, and french fries with its 5 interchangeable blades. Save yourself a ton of time and energy by avoiding tedious knife cuts and also ensure consistently cut fruits and vegetables.

This unit comes with one straight blade, one waffle blade, and a set of 3 julienne blades with 10, 18, and 30 teeth. The blade holders that are included with this unit make for an easy switch between julienne blades and the carver or waffle blades in just a few seconds. To increase the customization of blade cuts even more, you can adjust slice thickness up to 10 mm. With a stainless steel 18/10 construction you can expect both durability as well as a non-corrosive finish. The blades are made of a tempered steel that can be sharpened following long periods of usage.

I looked at the price for the same model. Yikes! Good thing ours is over 20 years old.

The salad dressing was mayonnaise, sour cream, vinegar, sugar, salt, garlic powder, and some chopped parsley. The pecans were from our trees.
AlaGa syrup is made from sugar cane. It's a southern thing. Sugar cane gets fed into a grinder and the extracted juice is cooked down to a thick dark syrup. It leans more to a molasses flavor and it is not as sweet as maple syrup. Mr. Juice and Florida Cracker show how it is done. My relatives in Pensacola had a mule driven cane grinder for their sugar cane and mill wheels for their corn. Fun times.

Pralines are candied pecans, i believe. Fairly easy to make at home i would think, cook down some sugar with maybe a little water or milk/cream, then toss the pecans in the hot sugar liquid. Buzz has a pecan tree in his backyard, if the h-words didnt get it.

Yeah a good slow cooked pork shoulder can be used for so many things, i guess Buzz kept his a little healthier by not serving it on bread or tortillas.

Yeah it's march so we're seeing the St patty's day foods on sale. Corned beef and cabbage is alright but i like a nice corned beef sandwich or hash. That's a good question, how does Superx celebrate his patron saint? Is he breaking out the 25yr old Glenfiddich?

That's a good point, the rams won their superbowl with jalen ramsey on the team. He was the best CB in the league even though he did give up a 70yd td in the superbowl, but jamarr chase does that to everybody. I guess if the rams want to become real contenders they need to find another star defensive back, or trade for one like they did with ramsey.

A nice chicken or beef pad thai with spring rolls always goes down easy, but i thought u didnt like spicy food, Pops?

Ah marjorum, i might have some of that around. It's like oregano but not as strong? Dried parsley would have worked as well i guess.
D'oh, totally didnt see that mandolin slicer behind the bowl. Ur right, the all steel models are probably very pricey now, the mostly plastic ones are the only cheap ones nowadays. I think Hawk was going to get a mandolin slicer, maybe he can find a good one at the goodwill.

Ah yeah a little sour cream and vinegar for the dressing, along with mayo and spices. Goes well on just about any vegetable.

Wait a minute, Buzz, was THAT ur relative with the mule driven sugar cane mill? Seemed like a salt of the earth guy. Im surprised you dont grow and mill your own corn. You pretty much make everything else from scratch. Im kidding, you buy your flour sugar and butter at the Publix like everyone else.

Just heard about Deebo Samuel being traded to the commanders for a 5th rd pick. He was a 1st team all pro in 2021 but hasnt been nearly as good in the 3 yrs since, due to injury and perhaps fitness issues. At 24M/yrd he's only a bargain if he regains his previous form; he's on the last year of his contract so he'll probably amp up his production so he can cash in on another extension. I dont think there's odds out for 1k yd seasons for next yr but when they come out he's a lock imo.

Warriors did not cover, Jimmy butler was declared out before the game, after i placed my bet, <sigh>
Going with Celtics 1st half spread and full game spread vs Nuggets today, early game (noon cst). Jokic triple double and Jayson tatum over points/rebs/assists would be decent props to make as well.
I like Blazers, cavs are on a hot streak but donovan mitchell is out today. Darius garland is going to put up points and 3's but i like blazers covering the +11.5 spread, probably keep it to +5.5 for 1st half spread.
Bulls have beaten the spread 4-5 games in a row now but it took a couple miracle 3's at the end of games to do that, think ill avoid the +10.5 theyre giving up to the pacers.
Lately Ive been looking for teams that hold out a lot of their starters, sometimes a team will hold out 2-3 of their best players on back to back games or if theyre still recovering from injury, it's good to jump on the opposing team in those situations but it means keeping track of injury reports, even up to less than an hour before tip off

we had a neighbor who would give us 5c/ea for crawdaddy and as kids in the 70s that was good money
/not too far from the people depicted in those vids
did you write that copy for the mandolin? pure brilliance and i dont care how much it costs now its worth every penny
d.bo wasa cheap add @Bababooey but like you said he might ball out this year to get the $$$
/after their run last year, warshington if a team on the radar now
i picked up a center cut and am going to make it later today or tomorrow, i also got the baby carrots and cabbage and small potatoes
im going to hang out with my mom and i was thinking this would be a fun thing to make
you cant go wrong with left over corned beef and i like the idea of breakfast potatoes with some onions and peppers
i cant make heads or tails of this b'ball but i think the college hoops kicks off soon and i might get into that

5c in the 70s was like 50c or a dollar today. Well, maybe not a dollar, maybe 75c.

I guess the commanders are getting better, id like to see some focus on defense as well but the offseason just started.

A nice pork loin, properly cooked, is always appreciated. Have u made this recipe before? Youre baking everything in the oven or a crockpot? It's amazing that Hawk can do the cooking he does without an oven.

SDSU made a run to the final four a couple three years ago, iirc. I think theyre joining the Pac12 conference, hopefully they along with the other new schools will bring it back to some prominence.

Celtics spread bets hit, the prop bets didnt. This is why i should avoid prop bets but i get these boosts for parlays and i cant help myself, even tho i know sportsbooks want you to do parlays cause theyre basically poison/losers.
I like Thunder, pelicans if Jazz starters are out, wolves and lakers for the late slate. All guaranteed or your $ back.

i was going to add something for reference, like how a snickers bar was 25c at the time
that was good money and neither i nor my sister ate them so it was like finding treasure buried in the mud
i made the corned beef and it came out bomb1 so bomb when my mom stopped by she piged out
i ended up giving her a big chunk of the leftovers plus a lot of the veggies
man, im going to get another one of these
my plan was to have it with crisp cooked cabbage instead of the boiled and maybe throw some shredded carrots in
oh and some of that everything seasoning on top of that, just for the salty nutty everything taste
this was just batting practice and the meat came out good
im ready to step up to the plate for the next one

Buzz has a pecan tree in his backyard, if the h-words didnt get it.
There are two pecan trees. One in the back and one in the front.
1741002898390.jpeg

1741002940408.jpeg

1741002971182.jpeg

The tree in back is bigger. Both have been struck by lightning. Summer of 2010 I was watching a World Cup match when a bolt cracked and boomed extremely loud and close by. I jumped up and checked around the house to see if anything got cooked. Nothing.
In the picture above the distance from the tree to the grape vines on the far left is about 50 feet. On the other side of the vines is open field with mostly centipede grass. About a week later I was mowing past the grape vines and there was all kinds of clattering noise like I was mowing across sticks or debris. I stopped and looked around when I saw the tree. Lightning hit a branch way high up in the tree and it blasted a curling trail of bare trunk. Pecan tree bark on mature trees flakes off in chunks naturally as the tree grows. The bark does not stretch so it cracks and flakes off.
The path of the bolt was about 12" wide down the main trunk. The bolt went to ground and forked at the surface root.

1741004284198.jpeg

1741004916796.jpeg

The bolt etched a blackened scorched jagged trail in the middle of the pathway it made on the tree.
1741005107707.jpeg

The clattering I heard was the bark pieces getting chopped up in the mower blades. They were slung 60-70 feet into the field.
No but it easily could have been. There are a whole bunch of Florida Crackers hanging in the family tree. I grew a large garden for many years and corn was well represented. One year corn smut showed up and that was the end of my corn growing. It is edible and a delicacy in Mexico. I learned about that years later. It looked too gross to be anything I'd want to eat.

We make and cook all of our meals at home. Publix is a pretty place to shop. I prefer the WalMart because of their bulk vegetable bins and organics in Produce. Their store is clean and I have become familiar with a number of employees. The bottom line on the receipt is better than Publix too.
did you write that copy for the mandolin?
That was a straight-up Copy/Paste effort.
Our source of kid money came from soda bottle deposits. $.02/12-16 oz. bottles and $.05/32 oz. (a whole nickel!). Baby Ruth bars were The Grail for me. They were the biggest bar for the cents and the peanuts were whole.

Actually, maybe inflation hasnt been that bad, i think a snickers is $1 now? Or $2 at most? Which means it's 8x what it was back in the 70s. So not quite 10x inflation. But Im sure the candy bars in the 70s had higher quality ingredients too.

Crisp cooked cabbage is interesting, so u roasted everything in the oven and the cabbage turned out crispy?

Yeah the dutch oven on the stove is a good hack if u dont have a real oven. Ive seen those pre-marinated pork loins at the grocery, if u say theyre good i might try one. I think the acid will work on breaking down the muscle tissue, not just fat, so it should make the leaner cuts more tender as well.

Dude, those are some huge trees, Buzz. Did not know pecan trees got that big. They must make so many nuts you must be sick of pecans by now. At least your house is well-shaded, that must be appreciated in the summer, although falling branches are a concern.
Ive seen lightening strikes on trees like that, where they rip a patch down the side. I guess those are scars of war for a tree.

Yeah FL seems like a real melting pot of people, you got southern crackers, northern transplants, cubans, immigrants from all over. You dont really need to leave the state to meet people from everywhere.
I do like the walmart super stores with the large grocery section, their prices and selection are good like u said plus they have the whole rest of the store to shop in in case u need household products, clothes etc.

Corned beef ? First thought that enters my head is cabbage 🥬 it’s also nice with grilled granary bread (toast) with melted cheese and brown sauce (bet ya never heard of brown sauce) buzz thats a hell of a spread of grub.. I passed Galway’s smallest man during the week,(he’s proud of the title)I’ve picked him up several times hiking, an interesting individual that’s for sure, loves his toke and is always up for the craic, he’s known locally as the poisoned dwarf which isn’t fair. Still, he’s the smallest man around. He would be in his element over me posting this pic of him..

who dosent like a good smoke and its nice of you to offer him kindness
so why is he the poisoned dwarf?
so what is brown sauce? is it like a condiment?
or some kind of gravy i can make at home?

@Bababooey is right @buzzmobile
who knew pecan trees could grow so big
that is wild your tree was struck by lightning and the scars show the path it followed into the ground
so what exactly does the word cracker mean? ive heard different definitions but i would like to hear yours
baby ruth are solid candy bars and another of my favorites
you are forgetting about the shrinkflation weve had in the past few decades baba and how the candy was probably bigger back then
its more like a stir fried cabbage thing i used to make for my asian meals but it would be bomb with corned beef
i ended up chopping up the rest of the cabbage and throwing it into the pot of juices and making a cabbage/ onion soup
oh man was that good
it was all blustery and it rained hard last night but i was toasted and warm inside eating soup and toasted bread

i hear you @shithawk420 and im going to lose some weight too man
its just a matter of making changes and sticking to them
how is your hip doing this week? when do you go back and see ms.pt.hottie?
i hit up that dominoes deal one last time too even tho i was having corned beef, ut wtf, how can they forget to sauce a pizza?
i would def call the store and a free pizza would be all mine

so what exactly does the word cracker mean?
I understand it to reference two things. Florida has historically been a cattle producing state. Raising cattle in Florida was much different from western states. Cowboys were out West and they used lassos to herd cattle. Florida had Cow Hunters/Cow Catchers and they used whips to herd cattle through scrub brush and undergrowth. Their whips make a loud crack/craic ;) right, @superx?
The other Cracker reference is to the cracker who used cracked corn to make moonshine. There were some rum runners in the family during Prohibition. The bottles were wrapped in straw and packed in heavy wooden crates that were off loaded onto small boats and smuggled ashore. One of those crates was made into a manger and it held a Nativity Set every Christmas at our house. The roof of the manger was thatched with some of the straw that protected the bottles.

All of the Crackers I know are good ones.

Our previous residence was in a small village close to ballygobackwards, we had lots of crackers living there. We were doing shrooms one night close to the lake under a full moon, it was here we decided to pitch the tent, there was a small pub/convience shack close by incase we needed supplies over the weekend. The first night passed without a hitch, then the second night some of those crackers started throwing small stones at the tent, me and the good woman were off our box and she was freaked out.
Every time I looked out there was nobody there, I ended up with my sleeping bag on the outside to give herself peace of mind.. I believe every time one of those crackers came out for a smoke they would chuck a stone at the tent and have a good snigger im sure.. (not to be confused with cream crackers, knackers) that would be a derogatory term towards the Irsh travelling community.

Hey pops...

Yes, the poisoned dwarf...

I believe he is a notorious shop lifter and pick pocketer, (let's face it, your not going to see him sneak up behind you) I will carry on giving him a lift when I can, and throwing him a bit of green, he's a gas character who means well.

Yes brown sauce is a condiment as is red sauce (ketchup) Works in harmony with a good Irish fry up..
You guys have heinz 57? It's slightly darker than that, leaning more towards steak sauce..

Spring is in the Air guys, my favourite time of the year..

I have a ton of shit to catch up with outdoors....

Ive actually got a bottle of HP sauce in my fridge, Superx. Bought it because for a while i was into chip butties. That's a french fry sandwich for you Yanks. Also, superx is right, HP sauce tastes a bit like A1 steak sauce, just not as strong, and has the consistency of ketchup.

He looks like any other Irish bloke ive ever seen, just shorter. At least he's better looking than the chap in this video.

Is this Superx? He looks like he just worked a month straight without any breaks and most of his guys called off of work:

Superx.png

I should probably eat more cabbage myself, it's like lettuce but with actual nutrients.

Those are decent explanations for the origin of the word 'cracker', Buzz. So Buzz had family that made rum in the caribbean and then smuggled it into FL? I always knew he had that air of 'Captain Jack Sparrow' about him. Maybe next Halloween he should go as a pirate.

I thought crack meant good in Irish slang? But cracker, not crack or cracking, is a different story.

Those small hands probably make him a formidable pick pocketer. Best shove my wallet up my bum if im ever around him.

Got some yard work to do around the house, Superx? They dont call it the Emerald Isle for nothing, but it seems like most of the grass around Ireland seems well behaved, doesnt grow 6ft tall if left unmowed like in the States...

Hey babba, HP you nailed it! The rest are impersonators, though HP has come in for some criticism over the years with many people saying they have changed the recipe, also its watered down ta fuk..
Babba maybe the HP sauce in your fridge is there from the 80s/90s ? then we have the original HP, pass the bottle man.

He looks like any other Irish man, only shorter? 🤣 you should see the tiny houses they live in...

That man's stressed to bits, his heads in a knot... We have one of those over here on every corner, (like artists & musicians)

The grass around my place is fairly rough and rugged and very uneven ( it's not a finely manicured golf course), you have no chance with a drive on mower or push mower, I keep it as low as I can using the brush cutter and letting the horses in every now and then, the first grass cut of the season will be coming up fairly soon..

Wonder what ever happened to those Brazilians that guy Tito was sending over to me ? He said they would have there own machetes..

Edit to add; ya can't beat cabbage man, lettuce has fibre, that's about as exciting as it gets..

He looks like any other Irish bloke ive ever seen, just shorter. At least he's better looking than the chap in this video.

Is this Superx? He looks like he just worked a month straight without any breaks and most of his guys called off of work:

They dont call it the Emerald Isle for nothing, but it seems like so is deons kid #1 most of the grass around Ireland seems well behaved, doesnt grow 6ft tall if left unmowed like in the States...

there is no telling what goes on in ballygoesbackwards! @superx
hahaha that looks like it could be the footage from the football thread meet up! i see pops and baba and superx and hawk @buzzmobile must have been the one filming the action
