Looks like u had decent seats, DB. I havent seen ringling bros circus since i was a kid, u must have had a blast. Being a carny seems like a fun job, well maybe in some ways, in other ways i bet it sucks lol.

I think it's spelled Bucee's, or Buc-ees. World's largest gas station and convenience store. Maybe Buzz could stop by and get some beaver nuggets, which is like a flavored corn puff snack.

Wonder if "Jesus Christ" got arrested eventually for breaking into a place and stealing pizza and a mountain dew. He sounded relatively harmless but obviously has some 'issues'.

To me they sounded more like Florida man, but i guess northern florida/south georgia is kinda the same thing...

We made it to our friends' house yesterday morning and hung around waiting for our check in time and the arrival of another friend who is sharing the house with us. The drive was not too bad but it was tiring. We got an alert on our GPS near Jackson MS that there were traffic delays ahead. Then it popped up and said it was recalculating an alternate route. So we went off on a looping ride on different Interstate sections and ended up being dumped into downtown Jackson on Pearl St. A left turn onto old US 51 was a bumpy rough ride for 2 miles and then I-20 was just ahead and we got back into the race. We were cooked by the time we found our hotel in Monroe.

Yesterday was not too bad. I hooked up behind a flat bed semi near Shreveport and there were signs warning of heavy traffic and long delays ahead. One sign said CONSIDER ALTERNATE ROUTE. Mr. Flatbed knew where to go and we went around Shreveport and through Bossier City without a hitch. Texas speed limits are crazy. We ran on 2 lane US Hwys posted 70 and we made good time, but Jeez I was watching every little farm side road for the combine crossing the highway. LOL 75 on much of the interstates and on some of those US Hwys too.

Everybody is in place and we will gather today and see faces we have not seen for 20 years. I got and gave some good hugs yesterday. More on the way today.

Gas prices have varied but I have not really 'shopped' for it. I stopped when we got below 1/2 tank and filled up. We stopped at a Popeye's for a chicken sandwich and we sat inside to eat it. Then back in the race. Yesterday we had some really tasty food from a small cafe near our gathering spot. MamaD had a patty melt and I had the cheeseburger which was 8 oz. of delicious Texas beef.

No I did not stop at Buccee's. I saw one sign advertising one but there is nothing about a huge gas station with a huge bunch of stuff in a huge store that entices me to check one out. I'm just an old poop.

I understand not wanting to go to a huge gas station buzz but ive seen vids on Bucc-ee's and they have some awesome and different kinds of foods you would be hard to g=find elsewhere. Its worth going for the food. Never been to one but would like to one day.

I guess they are saying you can damage your phones if you take pics of the eclipse. How were you doing it buzz? sorry if i missed that part.

My moms in the hospital. I guess she had congestive heart failure and is on oxygen. Now she might have covid from the hospital? Fuck hospitals. Dont trust them. Only thing they are good for is drugs when you can actually get them

Thanks for checking in from the road, Buzz, hope tomorrow is sunny and clear for the eclipse.
Sometimes i think those apple or google map directions arent that great, but if u saw a bunch of gridlock on the map then i guess all the roundabout way was better than sitting in a slowly moving parking lot for hours.
It's understandable if u dont want to hit up a Buc-ees, but they do serve some decent hot sandwiches and such there from what i hear, and the stores are big enough where it wont feel too crowded even with a bunch of people inside.
That's cool that u got to see some people u havent seen in decades, did they all turn surprisingly old since u last saw them? Some of the skinny ones are fat now? That's what happens to me when i see people i havent seen in over 10 years, im like dang, what happened? But i guess u cant say that to their face.

It's already time for the red sox game, DB? Alright, guess ill have to tune in, you'll be near first base?

That sucks about ur mom, Hawk, ill put my hands together for her and for u tonite, fwiw. But im confident she'll pull through.

its fun to get there early if you can and scout out the area (you know check out where all the fun foods are at!) and watch bp
so do you guys have a special fenway hotdog or something like that they serve at games
the padres play at petco park and they actually have a lot of decent food option, some for not a lot of $
/i like to get anthonys fish and chips
they even had this one section in the outfield where it was all you can eat hot dogs and pop corn and stuff like that

its always fun to catch up and spend time with good people
i hear how a gas station is not a destination but a lot of times when im on the road i will sleep at these type places
/loves is one of my fave and flying -j is good too
they are safe places to catch a few winks and are open 24hr so no matter when you wake up you can go inside and use a clean bathroom and most have some kind of place to eat
ive never been to bucees but like others have said i hear they actually have really good food and a friend from tx said they even have fresh bbq
looking forward to the eclipse tomorrow, its at 11.11pst so yuo know i will be good and ready

so i was planning on getting some middle eastern food so i mentioned it to my mom and said to be hungry
somehow she got it all turnt around and showed up with a big container or bee hoon noodles (chicken this time instead for shrimp) and a bunch of chicken wings
guess whats for dinner tonight boys?!
i will have to get my afghan food tomorrow, they have this lamb shank thing im thinking of trying (kabuli) but i might get the mantu instead; plus im getting their chapli to try out and of course chicken skewers

Middle Eastern food huh pops? Lamb sound good. Never had ME food before. Not sure if there is any by me. Might go to a Chinese buffet when my moms out of the hospital if shes feeling like it. Said they were bringing her lots of food so maybe not.Freaking starving. Havent been to the store in weeks.Might walk to Dollar Tree. Get some stuff for prison ramen. Heard they were closing 1000 stores cause of the crime. I see people stealing there all the time. Kids gotta leave there back packs at the door but that dont stop them. Ill never go there after school again. got 20 something kids running around and they are rude as hell. Fuck kids man. Litlle pricks.

that sounds like a fun time out getting to check out the animals
have fun at the ball game, ive had decent seats before but never sat front row
wear a mexican poncho or something like that so it will be easy to spot you on the tv

so the eclipse has been pretty cool in in socal but nothing like what buzz should see
it got a little darker but nothing unlike a cloudy day

ivr nrver had a real chicago dog, but there used to be this place called chicago on a bun that had pretty good dogs
they would put a full on pickle spear on the thing and slices of tomatoes
they were pretty good
you gotta try good middle eastern food, its kind of light with lots of fancy rice and stuff like that but they know how to grill up
the more i eat the more i try the new things and its usually pretty tasty
hope your mom gets out of the hospital soon and you guys can go out and enjoy some time together
i heard about 99c stores are closing, part of it is just the economics of a store like that but im not surprised about theft being a major problem for them too
but with the new laws re: theft i thnk its up to $1000 before its considered a real crime so some people just run amok now
/at the store i buy my liquor at most of the things are behind glass now
freaking kids now days, thinking they can just steal w/o any consequences
i hear you cant even really stop them or you could get charged with assault (and in my case take on some battery charges)
the kids here are all right but ive seen some kids who think just because they are kids they have some kind of immunity, to me 20 somethings arent too old for an ass whooping
maybe if they learned some manners at home they would not be such pricks

That's great that she doesn't have covid, Hawk, hopefully her heart issue will stabilize soon.
I had a family member in the hospital years ago and one thing i found was that u could order whatever room service you wanted, they'd just add it to the hospital bill and insurance/medicare/medicaid would pay for it. Hospital food aint great but the pizza, fries etc were edible, about the same as school cafeteria quality. Maybe u could visit ur mum for a few hours and also get some meals in.
What's prison ramen now? Does it come with a side of anal rape? Im just kidding.

DB is looking alright, still needs to lose the rest of his paunch and maybe get some more fitted clothes before he can get laid with a semi-decent woman. Just keep doing ur walks and maybe incorporate some pushups and squats into ur routine, should get there later this year.

How's ur fitness journey going, Hawk? Have u been walking around a bit? I see ur back on the booze. Not unexpected given the health issues of ur mum, I think for sobriety to stick you're going to have to learn to deal with stressful life events without resorting to the bottle.

Dollar tree bought Family Dollar some years ago but yeah, theyre closing mostly family dollar locations cause theyre losing money, understaffed, theft issues, etc.

Pops needs to post some photos of the middle eastern food, chicken wings, tip top meats etc that he's been getting. Not that i dont believe him, but we need to see how good this stuff is with our own eyes. Plus post a pic next time u get I&O, havent seen one of those jawns in a long time.
