Gas is in the low 4’s (or 3' by Hawk) in IL now, in the 3’s in the cheaper states (IN, WI) but is still in the 5’s in Cali and Hawaii? Like I get why Hawaii is expensive but CA must really be taxing the heck out of gas to keep it in the 5’s on the mainland.

Mcdonald's crispy chicken sandwich, $5 w/ fries and sprite on their app. It was ok, I added pickles for free but it could have used some mayo and cheese maybe. Plus it really wasnt crispy at all.

Went to the 99's the other day...seafood chowder, fish and chips, grilled asparagus.

I heard death valley got up to 127F yesterday, which is the hottest temp ever recorded in Sept for the entire planet or something ridiculous like that. You ever been there? Supposedly it could still be 100F even at night.
NFL bites is hit or miss for me, too often the streams freeze or don’t load. Maybe vipleague is the same but im willing to try something else, havent really used it yet though but ill post reviews when I do. But yeah, when these pirate streams work well it’s great.
Ive never ridden a horse (maybe once as a kid at a county fair) but I could see why people get into them, a buddy of mine used to date a girl who owned a horse. ‘Horse girls’ are a thing, i cant testify as to their freakiness unfortunately (according to Hawk theyre not just bowlegged because of the horse) but some people get really into horses, love riding, nature, etc and don’t mind all the care that comes with it. There was a horse girl at a store I used to shop at, she’d have to wake up at 430am to feed and take care of them.

If you ever do hit up Costco, Hawk, just fyi I don’t think you need a membership to buy alcohol there, at least in IL you don’t because there’s a state law saying a liquor store cant charge a membership fee so stores that do charge membership fees have to allow non members to buy alcohol. Not sure about IA though, and besides youre trying to quit so maybe I shouldn’t have told u that lol.
I had acupuncture once before for ‘low energy’, it was just one session and didn’t really feel any different afterwards but I hope it works for you.

Yeah, there might be a lot of packers fans in the quad cities but it’s near the IL border so should be at least as many bears fans too. That whole Mississippi welfare funds scandal is really bad, apparently they misused tens of millions of federal welfare funds, giving 2M to Favre to give ‘motivational speeches’ which he never did, also using millions to help build a volleyball center for the University of Southern Miss where his daughter plays volleyball. Already 2 of the state’s welfare agency’s employees have been criminally charged and pled guilty, theyre going after more scammers but Favre already paid back the money he received. But ur right, he apparently was questioned by the FBI and if told them any lies that’s a felony and he could go to prison just for that, that’s what martha stewart went to prison for, she didn’t go to prison for insider trading (like 10 plus years ago) she went for lying to a federal agent.
I don’t hate favre per se but ur right Hawk, dude has some scumbag qualities. Cheating on his wife when she had cancer, jerking packers fans around with his retirement talk then going to the jets (where he sexually harassed some female employees, including a masseuse - shades of deshaun watson) and then Vikings (division rival, lots of cheeseheads still have hard feelings about that), now being involved in misuse of public welfare money. He was also addicted to pain pills (vicodins) at one point but I actually respected him for kicking that habit, plus in his time opiates were handed out like candy by team doctors so cant really blame him for that.

happy holidays boys! welcome to the end of summer

its been freakin hot here and yesterday we spent the whole day at the beach; the...whole...day
i am fried to a crisp but had a lot of fun
there where a lot of places set record temps, and even record low temps (the coolest its going to get that night in the mid 80s)
add in the flex alerts and i wuold not be surprised if some palces start having the rolling black outs at some point this week
we also came across a feral human, at least thats what the guys sign said as he was standing in the intersection
he was actually pretty cool, we kind of talked for a minute while i was waiting for the light to change and he was not rude or aggressive one bit (he even called mrsChicky a fox)
its the same way here in cali with anyone being able to goto costco and buy booze
i think like you said its a weird law so they have to abide by it, but half the fun is buying the 3lb thing of dry roasted peanuts and the fifty pack of toilet paper
check it out hawk and be sure to stop by the food shop outside and graba slice, no membership needed for that either

Maybe youre talking about favre’s brother, scott favre? He got into a dui that killed his friend back in the 90s, got felony probation but his record was cleared when the Miss governor pardoned him back in 2012. Also favre’s sister has some serious arrests too, was arrested for being involved in a drive by shooting in 96, felony theft in 99, having a meth lab back in 2011. Im thinking if he wasn’t a great QB brett favre and his family would have been the bayou version of the Trailer Park Boys.
I don’t know, Hawk, u might be right, if he lied in any sort of significant way to the FBI regarding welfare fraud in Mississippi he’s facing some criminal charges. And to your point, he doesn’t seem that bright a guy (too many head hits) so maybe he’ll say something he shouldn’t have said instead of just clamming up and hiring a lawyer.
I might call up Costco and make sure about that alcohol rule first. But no worries, if they still require a membership to purchase booze you can use a Costco gift card to enter and purchase (but u need a member to buy the gift card first) – u also can use other forms of payment along with the gift card, so long as at least some of the purchase is made with the gift card.
That 100k whiskey collection sounds wild, I wonder how many bottles that is. Most expensive whiskey ive ever had personally was some johnnie walker blue, it’s like $200 for 750ml. Was really smooth even though I was already pretty drunk at the time lol.

Well it was like 8.80 with tax, at 10% we’ve got the highest sales taxes in the nation I think. Most of the other counties outside of Chicago are at 6%.

It was the only time ive ever had JW Blue, I swear. Most of the time I buy booze it’s like the cheapest swill on the shelf, im strictly about the alcohol content. Although if I ever fell ass backwards into a pile of money it would be nice to only drink expensive whiskeys. That way I can feel classy as I drink myself into a stupor.
I think it varies state by state, whether you need a Costco membership to buy alcohol. I thought IL was on that list and I did do it one time (walk into Costco or sams, tell them im there to buy booze) but it was years ago (maybe 10?) so im not sure if it’s a thing in IL anymore, plus Hawk is in IA. Probably can just call the store and ask haha.

I had tooth pain a couple months ago, yeah an antibiotic or two can make it go away for a bit before the infection flares up again. Went to the dentist eventually and they took out a filling (it was infected under the filling), drilled the cavity clear and put new filling in and only cost $100.
I think most take out Chinese places and buffets serve very Americanized Chinese food. Real Chinese food most americans probably wouldn’t find as tasty, stuff like shell-on shrimp (supposed to eat the head first since that’s the most ‘juicy’ part). Well, maybe more than half of the authentic dishes americans would like, stuff that’s not too unusual in taste, ingredients, etc.
I hope this move goes well, Hawk. There’ll be some bumps along the way but if you can have a positive mindset you can make almost any situation work.

Haha, for real I think a meal like this would have been 6-7 bucks just a couple years ago. Inflation huh?
I agree that it’s generally worth it to spend a few dollars more for a better quality of buffet, even twice as much as a cheap buffet could be worth it with much higher quality ingredients, good crab or even lobster. There’s a high end Asian buffet near me that actually serves lobster, it only comes out every 15-20 mins and youre only supposed to take one per meal but I don’t think that’s enforced. They weren’t very big but there were a few good bites of meat in each one.
A lot of Americanized Chinese food is basically battered and fried chicken covered in a sweet sauce. Americans love their fried chicken and sweet sauces so it’s not much different than most bbq or chicken joints.

Yeah, good dental care can be expensive but don’t neglect your mouth, tooth pain sucks and losing teeth as you get older sucks as well. That guy whose tooth infection reached his brain, that’s nightmare fuel.

I hope the heat eventually breaks but yeah I hear it’s been crazy out west. San Fran is like hitting triple digits which is basically unheard of, even in the summer they’ll get some nice temperate days (60s) but sounds like it’s a real hellhole now.

Sorry Pop I got $20 on the bills (favored by 3 pts at LA) tomorrow, maybe I’ll be wrong but theyre also my pick to be superbowl champs. That would be nice for them after the horror of the 90s (4 straight title games, lost em all).
