Some have had issues w the Hortilux, it appears... just got a few of the quantum 1k's & traditionally run the Hort...
Do any of you run the Quantum 1k w the Hortilux w/o any problems?
The rep I spoke w clearly stated that the Hortilux would run fine, in fact, one of the top 3 he recommended, so would like to temper this w actual experiences...
These are intriguing. I will soon be in the market for a 1000w ballast, so I'll consider this. I don't understand why the lumen output is less but power draw is the same. Gotta grab a Kill-A-Watt meter and determine if this is really the case. I'd like to have one to check other things anyway...
No the lumen output is higher with the digitals (at least the Quantums in my experience) by 10% over analog ballasts. I don't have a 240V killawatt but I'd like to see your comparisons ItsAllOver when you have time.
Im really interested in these ballasts.. They run on 120v or 220v? and are dimmable..Wow sounds like a dream come true! Would love more info with running the 600 on horti bulbs. And how do these compare to the lumateks?
Yes they are both 120V and 220V, both cords included, and has a 50/75% dimmer too. Don't use Horti bulbs with these! I blew 3 of them in ten weeks! A 60% failure rate on digital ballasts. Ushio only are safe.
Lumateks are also more expensive, and according to my local shop, they get 1 Quantum back for every ten lumateks. From what I've read on this board and others, this seems to be a common statistic.
