and if they can tell your washer isnt energy star rated,,, are they going to make calls to E.C. saying his ballasts are old and he could use an upgrade?!?!

On another note..anyone running a duel 1000 watt digital ballast?? looking for info on dig equipment. Is it relieable??

I thought the digital ballasts were not as good in comparison... They seem to have a much shorter life. Ive never seen an old school ballast break down, my first one from almost ten years ago is still in circulation locally, but every digi is dead.. smart meters are another vote against digital

Afternoon Amber -T....Allways apreciate your common sense take and advice on a situation :tiphat:.That zerowater machine saved my butt before i turned to coco last spring :thank you:
The system that shit the bed on me was a duel 600 [1200 watt] "sunlight supply" ballast...When i bought the 2 sets a few years ago i was told they were cutting edge..Now im trying to replace them and the company doesnt seem to make a duel 600 replacement ballast.Ive never had another olde school ballast ever cook on me before..On the other side the "hydro farm" powerhouse magnetic 1000 watt ballasts ive NEVER had an issue with. They also have the best warrentee of 8 years....
The reason im courious is ive seen a "luminarc ?"duel 1000 watt digital ballast. Looks TO ME like it would hook up nice and reduce my need to buy 1/2 as many ballasts..2 instead of the 4 im useing now...IF ..they work properly.:bump:
All in all i want a safe and error free operation in a damp enviroment .
So mag or dig...this is the question...Im heading towards the hydro farm again me thinks...What say y all??

i just had 1k quantum blow out on me, looks like when the bulb went it took out the ballast with it. i should of known to change out the bulb, the rod was starting to twist a lot. i need to start running the new eye bulbs, i hear they fixed them.

i had no problems exchanging it at the store under warranty.

stemless monster piece

stemless monster piece

i have both, i like the smaller size of the E-ballast. makes mounting it easier (saving an amp or 2 is nice). but ive had one go on me(under warrentee). where my magnetics have been running just fine.

i grabbed myself alittle something while i was out!!
its 19" tall, has a ice pinch, comes with, a eye ball for a bowl piece, a blood mouth on the stemless shaft!! and cost 150$ :dance013:

Nice piece FB.
I'd really like to run one of the PH ballasts from HF.
I noticed there is a spot for a fan, to cool the ballast, which would require an additional purchase, making an already expensive ballast that much more.
Is the fan needed to run the ballast, I wonder?

Im headed in that direction[hydro-farm]..Cant put a price on safety and piece of mind. With thier best in the business warrentee of 8 years along with the fact that ive nerver personally seen one give out,me thinks im sold...Fire is the number 1 reason personal gro's get compromised..
AS for looping a few ballast together to manage thier heat, might be a good simple way to deal with heat if its an issue..In the winter, ive never minded the little dry heat they thro off, more concerned with the heat off the bulbs getting to close and burning stuff... my 2c

Deer

Deer

Well mistakes were made and the results are bad! First we didnt use liquid fence as always , always , always have . Instead we put up actual fences as we have had problems with rabbits n muskrats in the past. Deer ate the plants right out of the fences . 45 out of 90 plants in one area are now gone and I hope the deer enjoyed there snack. It can make a good looking year into a bad one right quick. They did seem more attracted to one strain in particular over others . Its an ak 47 cross that must have a better smell/taste then the others there . They ate 2 of 3 plants in some holes and never touched the last plant which was the oddball strain . Well I hope others are having better luck than I this year ans stay safe!

Good points.
The extra fan seems cheap, when I look at it this way! :tiphat:

i never noticed how long those power house warrentees are. sounds like a good investment. and the fan option isnt a bad idea either.

stinkymutt - im sorry to hear about those deer getting your crop. that shit is NOT COOL. i hope they dont fuck with any more and you end the season with something good.

it looks like it will be a nice day out. not too hot. a good day for some outside work.

Question guys: did a project at a friends but had to take down early! In the mist of things I pollenated a few lower buds! So I now have the bases with the lowers on them! I now have them I'm the mom room under 24! Will the seeds finish under 24? Or do I need to contine under 12/12? Don't want to lose them because all they cuttinz I took from them ended up in the trash! It's been 2 weeks since the breeding an 1 week under 24 an the breeding took on all four clones!

those phantoms do look nice, just not sure on the track record for the digis. One buddy has had 3-4 run wit one no problem. I still use the same hydrofarm ballasts from before hoods w/exhaust, hard-wired mogul cords.

we switched over to running the lites at nite...Whole lot easier keeping the temps under 80....Were between 70-80* 24/7 .
I have ran lights on at night since day one. My veg room is the issue since the lights are on 18/6. The heat of the day is around for more than 6 hours. I just bought a new jig saw blade so I can run duct up from the basement for my intake instead of drawing intake air from the second floor like it is now. The hand dug basement stays 55* all summer so it will be like free AC for my room. :dance013:
