#5 and 6 will without a doubt be the long flowering phenos as theres barely any bud forming on them but strangely enough they're shorter and more compact than the thai leaning ones and the tops are sagging. oh well

Very interesting strain as theyre all so unique. Very excited about this strain

Hi. I'm just starting out with 6 New Caledonias. I have 2 fruity pheno (one of which is berry like Destroyer), 1 typical kush scent pheno, 3 pheno have almost no scent.

Well all these ladies are shooting nanners now. And i mean all of them. Not sure what if anything went wrong. Seemed like it happened all at once. My wife wants me to keep them but by the time they all get pollinated the bud quality will suffer and i'll have a world of seeds to deal with. Guess i'll make a decision later today

That’s a bummer. I had one of my NC do that in my tent last go round.

Let them set seed. Cob them and enjoy chewed with extra protein, like Baba Karuna:

You'll have seed for another seedless try :) Enjoy the herb.

Imho- Pick off the nanners. Religiously.

I had the same happen with my sativa ssstn. Picked off the nanners around week 3 no problem after that.

Yep i plan to get in there with tweezers today. Do plants throw nanners more than once in the flowering cycle?

They probably can, depends on the plant.
My experience is with the ssstn pearl pheno. Only did it once, around 2-3 weeks in if I recall. Amazing smoke, more than worth the hassle. But the buds were super wispy and it was real easy to spot them and pull them off.
If you pick them all off, and it grows more a week or two later, it might be time to toss the whole thing. Or pick them off again and give it one more chance.
But if you pick them off and no more show up for a couple weeks, id bet your in the clear.

Sorry to read that @RobFromTX. I had one female (see below) and one male. The male grew female flowers after I removed him from the tent and put him outside on the balcony. He was incredibly smelly even at the beginning of flowering.
The female never showed any herming tendencies, despite the long reveg phase I accidentally imposed on her and despite some overfeeding with the soil being too rich. I harvested her two days ago after I observed that she really slowed down taking up water and the rate at which the trichomes turned brown and amber increased significantly under the current hot and humid weather conditions. I was also worried about some flower bracts turning dark at increasing rate, the trichomes on those turning brown quickly.
Here are a couple of late pictures of her.

When I moved her out of the tent the whole house filled with an incredibly sweet, fruity scent, beautiful. Just seconds later I heard my wife call a lout "jeeees" from downstairs. She had grown to an amazingly massive plant in the 60x60 tent along with the Zamaldelica (harvested 2 day earlier) and the Super Congo. Because she was in the back in an 9 l airpot, she had been hiding her size until now. DSC_0043_1.JPG DSC_0044_1.JPG DSC_0045_1.JPG IMG_20240712_203025~2.jpg

If you can, pull all the male flowers off and monitor daily for new ones.
But if it was me, I would cut them asap. Had one NC herm in a week of absence and it basically ruined my crop. Seeds won't improve the product in any way, not even cobbing will make it as it should be.
I'm sure the line has great potential but also some risk with male flowers.

Cheers

Yeah i chopped them yesterday. Just sprayed down the grow tent. There was just too many of them and by the time you see them they're already pollinating. Shit happens ;)

I think we are seeing the curse of the early adopters.... read through the whole thread and there does seem to be a stability problem , with several very skilled growers reporting hermi issues, but on the flip side some real keepers have also been found and there is a lot of diversity in phenos to choose from, as the line gets more worked ..stability will get better but diversity of pheno will go down...phenos found today will not be found years down the line ...so pick your poison ...and find your keeper (y)

great point, also many old school strains with legendary status came with hermie tendencies and if the plant is great, some seeds in buds shouldnt ruin the smoke.
I think it is arguable to what extend is the hermie trait connected to quality, but some believe with breeding out the hermies, you might loose something valuable in the line as well. I am glad Dubi offered the first reproduction in its raw form. If you take landrace from its environment, it often shows hermie tendencies indoors. Grow them outside and you might see much less of that. Also worth considering, some bananas never release pollen, or it is too wet to pollinate anything really. My keeper NC can throw bananas under stress but they never produce any seeds. Imo, with NC at this stage, best to just grow at least 5 females to have a better chance of finding something good / hermie free and avoid disappointment with one or two females.

I bet if someone did a seed increase a few times indoors it would stabilize. IMHO cannabis adapts quickly.
I agree landrace stuff can be finicky inside at first. But a few generations later it should stabilize.
Just my humble opinion.
