Man all of your work looks to be paying off. Your seeds from those crosses look fantastic, should be lots of meds soon. Nice work, wish i could say it more. Awesome stuff.
I just confirmed a Casey Jones male and a PowerHouse male and female (C99 x Deep Chunk), and I will use those on crosses with Sour Bubble. I am very interested to see how C99 and Deep Chunk will work with Sour Bub. I just found another Sour Bubble male to work with today also.
I also have a few straight C99's that have not been sexed yet, along with some Bubba, Snowdog, and Blockhead. I should find something interesting with that group to work with.
This winter should be real interesting, with Chemdog, several varieties of OG Kush, lots more C99, and many other interesting strains for crosses with Sour Bubble. And of course I will be working with Sour Bubble to find the right combinations for perfection.
My main goal right now is to eliminate what I call "Bean Poles" from Sour Bubble. Bean Poles are plants with very little side branching that grow up into straight poles, and seem very undesireable to me. Also the goal will be to eliminate runts and give me consistant quality.
I am really enjoying these Sour Bubble females. The yield will be above average, and I am wondering if these will go a full 60 days???? I would let them go up to 65 days indoors, but it's a different ball game with these outdoors.
Damn CareFree, those are some wicked crosses and I am also very excited to see what those crosses produce. SB x Chemdog particularly peaks my interest.
Good luck with those projects.
I am very excited about some of the crosses that will take place in the next few months, and this winter. I wish I could do this one a much larger scale myself, but I want to stay within the limits I am allowed to stay legal where I live.
My union members are working with me to help make things happen, so I trust they will do their part also.
Here is a very interesting C99 x Deep Chunk female that will be touched by Sour Bubble pollen in the upcoming weeks. It has been in 12/12 light cycle for a little over a week now, and I have a few of these. The males and females are very uniform, and I beleive they will make a stable cross with Sour Bub, and add something nice to the high. I think the Deep Chunk side will make the cross super frosty, even more that they are already.
This summers crop is mainly for seed production, although the hash that will be made after harvest will be outstanding since I am working with very decent genetics. The winter crop will be 50/50 seed production and just pure dank smoke.
Here is a Blockhead baby that is turning very purple at this young age, and since temps have been between 90f - 100f, it sure isnt low temps causing it. I think this Blockhead, whether male or female will be used with Sour Bubble for seed creation shortly. I am hoping it will introduce some of its goodness to the next set of plants I am working on. These Blockheads have a very strong head high, and I cant wait to see and feel how they do with Sour Bubble.
Hi medmaker;
The only place to get legit original Sour Bubble from the man himself is in the med clubs in California. I can pretty much guarantee that everything else will be copies of his work. Not that copies of his work are bad, but nothing beats his originals. When you get originals, then you are guaranteed that your future breeding work will be nearly as good as the originals. When you obtain copies, you are not guaranteed the quality because you dont know what kind of selection has been done by the breeder.
The best deal would be to get 3-5 packs of originals here in the Cali med clubs and you are set for life.
If you are a qualified med patient in Cali, there are delivery services that will bring the goods right to your door, and there is a new internet site that does mail order bud for med patients, but I dont think they do seeds yet.
Would your recommend mixing dolomite lime even into Fox Farms soils? I will do this in the future, but until then is just using a pH down mixture in the water enough for well rooted clones? It's weird that some of the ladies never had this problem.
Hey, I also have another question for the outdoors growers: I will be moving back to the Bay Area and will have the opportunity to go outdoors. Would it be alright to move some of the flowering Grape Punch ladies outdoors this late in the season? I'm near the shore so I'm worried that dropping temperatures and the fog could ruin a crop...
splifftoker,
I would recommend adding dolomite lime to any organic soil at a rate of 1-2 tbls. for every 2 gallons of soil. I have also noticed that not every plant is effected, but I automaticaly add the lime now as a preventive measure.
You can also make a lime tea to add to the soil if it crops up at a rate of 1 - 1.5 tbls. per gallon of water. Keeping the water PH in the low 6's is very important also in organic soil imo.
The weather in the bay area is very difficult to deal with. I grow outdoors, but move the plants inside every night to regulate the photo period during flower, and move the veg plants inside and drop them under a MH light for an additional 6 hours of light.
On really cloudy days I just leave the veg plants under the lamp and move the flower plants also under the lamp. I have not seen any negative effects from going both ways, and it sure saves alot of money to take advantage of the sun when it's out.
I live in an area where cloudy days are not very common though. It's already been 141 consecutive days without rain, and I dont expect any until November. This is a normal pattern in my area.
Some good news today. I have some Casey Jones male and female plants to work with, and a couple of Sour Bubble males have been verified. I am very short on Sour Bubble pollen, so it's nice to have found them, and they look great.
I will be introducing the Casey Jones plants to Sour Bubble in the next few weeks. Geisha has aready been introduced to Sour Bubble so I am excited to see what happens with both of these. (Sour Geisha, and Sour Jones)
Bubba Kush, C99, and C99 x Deep Chunk will also be hit with Sour Bubble, Casey Jones, and Geisha pollen in a couple weeks. ( Sour Bubba, Sour C99, Sour Power, Bubba Jones, Bubba 99, Power Bubba, Geisha Kush, Geisha 99, Power Geisha, etc...) These 6 types of plants are really going to party in the next few weeks, both ways.
Here are some of the latest Sour Bubbles that are seeded and getting ready to go into the home stretch. They grew so well outdoors that I will even veg this winters grows outside also. Winter here is 70-80 degrees most of the time anyway. They are all very stinky and sticky, just like everyone likes.
Here is another Sour Bubble female starting to feel the lack of nitrogen. The major fans leaves are yellowing, but with less than a month to go I am not too concerned. They are on Earth Juice Bloom right now, and I want flower/seed production, not all green leaves blocking out the sun from the buds for these seeded plants.
Here is one of the new male BX4 Sour Bubbles I have to work with also.
