its cool you gots a good price on your fan and carbon combo. its def gonna be one of your main assets and it will be a small price to pay for peace of mind.. and peace of wrists too (No handcuffs if y know wat i mean... LOL)

£110 for the whole ventilation system, expensive by american standards but the closest i can find online/ebay is £100 for a 100mm RUCK setup which is apparently very noisy.

Hydro guy assured me the RVK he was offering me was a damn quiet fan and the 125mm size means it has to make less noise to do the same work, tiny carbon filter too - perfect, might be able to fit the filter in the cab between the lights. As far as space goes in the cab its real tight, the lights -just- fit in and no more, nice little space between them for a vent hole though

Funny thing is the hydro guy quoted £70 for the fan, £40 for the filter, £10 for the mounting cage, £5 for the ducting and £5 for the duct clamps. I asked for a bundle and he stood there and looked deep in thought and eventually came out with £110. lol.

28"x14"x34", not huge but makes for near enough as makes no difference 2.5sqft of floorspace.

Still undecided on the method of growing, I intend on vegging about 8 plants to ~10-12", all lst'd of course and switching to flower, weeding out the inevitable males (hoping for 50/50 ratio) and flowering 3-4 females. I realise its going to be a tight fit in the cab but im going for yield, first time will be a kind of pseudo sog since i'm starting from seed, will likely attempt scrog for the second try either starting from clones or feminised seeds. No room for a veg cabinet unfortunately, so making my own female clones is pretty much out of the window.

Just to get an idea of just how tight the fit is for the lights i took a pic, they're not going to be on this shelf, just to show you guys how little room there is. I got lucky here, didnt measure anything before I bought it - as it stands the only modification ive had to make is cut a little bracket off the top of one of the lights where the polycarb covers attach to squeeze them in there!

hey man, head on over to my thread, i posted updated pics with that new carbon filter. thing is prolly similar in size to yours so maybe can give you an idea on how it can work for ya. also, 4 plants might be more than you need in that cab. i though i was going to do 4 but the 1 plant i have in a swc rubbermaid is taking up the whole left side! i would highly recommend 2 or 3 plants in a swc rubbermaid and lst those things a bunch. focusing the light on less plants with our space is ideal. if you went soil with a nice indica the 4 plants would prolly be a better idea though. later.

definately going soil with this one, already dropping way too much cash into the setup - will likely construct a swc or dwc tub during this grow though and give it a shot!

just a quick question tngreen, what sort of fan are you using with that carbon filter? also what are its dimensions, it looks longer and skinnier than the one i saw in the hydro shop today

its just a basic 120mm comp fan from compusa that ran me 15 bucks. connected to the filter via ducting and lots of foil tape (love that stuff!). heres the filter: http://www.wormsway.com/detail.asp?sku=CF0067

site says 11.4 in long and a 4.32" diameter

so cheap! its almost tempting to get it sent from the states at that price...

Yeah i saw that on the site, its a shame they cant take a credit card payment - i wonder why, i mean a visa is a visa the world over. I'm a bit reluctant to send cheques or a money order.

i'll definately give it some thought though - i dont intend to start until january so i've got a bit of time.


Just spent the past 3 hours hanging the lights and lightproofing... damn thats a frustrating job! got it just about sealed though, few little cracks in the back where the glow is getting out but all the hard bits are done.

Start a new job next week so not likely to have much spare time to do much else, i'm pretty much waiting for a payday now anyway - see if I can afford the ventilation as well as all my christmas shopping

Hey guys, came down to my parents house today and rifled through my old boxes of assorted computer junk etc - found some useful stuff i'd forgotten about! lots of dc adaptors, fans, i'm sure theres a bag of activated charcoal somewhere and there should be a bunch of seeds - will probably scrap those though, they got mixed up so i wouldnt be able to tell what strain i'm planting and since i know for certain theres a bunch of dp seeds in there i'll just buy some new ones.

And on that note, how do you guys feel about female seeds (the company)? i've seen they offer 4 packs of their strains and they all sound like pretty stable feminised strains, anyone got any experience with these in a scrog grow? they seem to do a lot of sativas but only a couple of hybrids, any recommendations for a low headroom scrog, 2-3 plants.

Found some lamp holders too so i'll likely be adding some extra cool cfls to give a bit of blue spectrum along with the 140watts of hps.

I am also hoping to get growing in january, just finished the lightproofing and minor modifications and am waiting for fan and lights to arrive etc to arrive so i can get it all in. also waiting for payday fucking sucks getting paid monthly huh.
i have some feminised NL from whitelabel..hoping they are good, ive heard some hermie stories about feminised..any truth in this

im sure its a possibility but as with any seeds, if your conditions are not optimal, you risk more males and hermies. feminized prolly have higher probability than female seeds. i may be buyin some female seeds just so i dont have to worry bout males with my limited space.
