People mature wine and spirits etc so why not weed? Surely there would be a large enough consumer population to warrant specialist, high end more expensive grows??I agree that magic is often found in the long flowering sativas and I would happily join the SPCLFS. Sign me up!
That said, it is a pretty brave commercial grower who grows an 18-26 week type with wispy buds. What I see mostly from the US is that growers tend not to touch anything longer than 10 weeks so respect to flower power for taking the time and space to grow these. I love seeing haze/sativa revival and hope that there is a niche market for these types.
Great that this thread is going after the earlier drama. Lovely plants as usual fp.
Let me get back to you on thatPF question for you dose no1 have a olive Green leaf color and if you touch the flower dose the resin feel oily or waxy or tacky ?
It mite be still early to get a true smell from those flowers on her but fruity or non fruity ?
Hey… we’ll see how I feel later on ha hafor letting the long flower plant ride, FP! They are beautiful
It takes patience to let some varieties ripen properly, most of the market has no patience, everyone wants everything right away.....People mature wine and spirits etc so why not weed? Surely there would be a large enough consumer population to warrant specialist, high end more expensive grows??
I agree, but most younger people aren't after the high that a long flowering sativa gives. I've given away some of my best stuff to younger people and many find it unsettling because it isn't narcotic. Look what's happening in Thailand. Main sales seem to be chunky US and European hybrids, not old Thai strains. Post a random pic of 70s looking bud on forums and see the schwag comments by younger people who judge on shiny trichomes, or base their choice on THC content alone. Check out Red Riders Colombian thread where he pretty much says the same. Our medical market here is dominated by short flowering hybrids. The very few sativas get bad reviews because no one understands that the high is different, then they disappear. It's quite frustrating.People mature wine and spirits etc so why not weed? Historical amnesia is rife these days... seems the cannabis community hasn't been spared. Their loss I suppose? As long as its not permanent and the Sativa enthusiasts keep up the good work, I guess we afficionados can take a little comfort?I agree, but most younger people aren't after the high that a long flowering sativa gives. I am sure there will be a niche market for some of the pure sativa's but it will be tiny unless the public are prepared to give them a go. There's a few generations now that chase a couchlock high. That's what they grew up with.
Very true, even in a legal state (legal grow and dispos everywhere as well as a big gray market) If I didn’t grow these types myself I would never see them much less get to smoke them regularly. I like several of the polys and indicas going around but the stash box would be far from completeI agree that magic is often found in the long flowering sativas and I would happily join the SPCLFS. I think sativas are good for potheads that smoke fat joints all day long. The kind of people that end up being growers and strain collectors. And your average customer wants to take a few puffs off a bowl after work and melt into the sofa.
the problem is knowledge. people dont know that there are active and speedy energetic sativas, so they do coke... they dont know there are extreme euphoria sativas, so they do extasy or mdma... etc..
it is done by
1. in illegality, it is easy to grow indicas, it is quicker and easy to operate illegaly. plants are not big and easier to hide.
2. by process of legalization, you talk about relaxing and medicinal properties of cannabis, and not talk about crazy psychoactive sativas as it cant help with legalization... you need to show cannabis as harmless and not talk about like you got mad, paranoid and freaky.
it is all about information.
Real informations have to be fair and educate about the good and the bad, hiding the fact sativas can induce paranoia is disingenous.
I find pure sativas and pure indicas are very often less paranoia inducing than indica/sativa hybrids.
In Holland the paranoia levels clearly increased with the arrival of NL5, Skunk and haze hybrids. And until there they were smoking only Hash and imported sativa landraces from all over the world.
But we all react differently to effects too ... I think.
I may drop a vertical bulb or two in that room because the plants are so tall I don’t want to it’s horrible for your eyes trust me I can’t see shit anymore it’s because of the lampsThe paranoia is a personal thing. I find the introspective strains to be very trippy and enjoyable. Instead of blaming the strain maybe see what it is trying to show you.
Acid used to make me paranoid when I was a reckless kid. Now it's pure bliss.
It wasn’t too long ago that you wanted to grow some anti-haze too. The stuff can get racy and let paranoia set in. That’s why I have some fat leafers going right now.I can tell you that in a few months from now my stash box is going to be unparalleled
