Sometimes you just over grow a room by mistake...This is my main flower room, roughly 8'x8'. @ 11 o'clock is my sour grape, @ 1 o'clock is a Tahoe and on the left over there is an SFV, laid out hard on a net. The whole room actually has a net about a meter off the ground but it's long buried in masses of flowers. I'd mis-labeled the Tahoe as a sour grape and only figured out yesterday it was a Tahoe when inspecting the room for problems etc. I haven't had a Tahoe in a long time and this one is really big, couldn't be more stoked to make a mistake...:)

My D-Kush from Karma is another one I shouldn't have underestimated. Rasputin nailed the description on this one. I wish I'd kept all 3 of the good ones I found but that's life...This one can throw a smell further than most plants I've seen. When Karma nails one, which he often does, he really hits it home.:tiphat:

I sure miss the original early pearl

Your Early Pearl was serious old school fire Gman.

Smell, taste, effect, potency, flower structure, fast finish, resin production, bag appeal.
That girl had it all.

Could have come straight from a 80's time machine.

I don't remember if the Early Pearl subject came up on this thread and I responded with my story. If so, I can't help but tell it again. If not, this is another thread that now has my story.

The only weed I've purchased in over 35 years was some Early Girl bud. I've always provided myself with my own. I grow what I like, which is different than what most others grow. But I had to have that Early Girl because it was so good. When people say Indica is "relaxing", all I can think of is the heavy limbed couch-lock that I can no longer tolerate. But that Early Girl bud was cerebrally soaring while also being very relaxing. I convinced my friend to share some seeds from that plant, but I did not find any children that had the high. Since then I learned about the Early Pearl strain, and I've been hoping to find that and see if the Early Pearl has what that one special Early Girl had. I don't necessarily desire the relaxing part, but that mind soaring high is my grail. I look for it every day.

last i knew sensi seeds still had an early pearl seed stock. mine had this lime green life savor thing going on that i dont think i remember reading in the early pearl description.

i threw my last clone / mom out. at the time i had been fighting mites for a few months, prior to what i know now, an everything else was clean. this mother was treated an treated an she still held mites. it was looking sad. was so mad with the hundreds of hours of cleaning spent, at that point in a rage i threw her out...

i regret it now. i also would of also rotated insecticides like your supposed to. an gone nuclear on them bastards.

passed the cut out, few of those people dont grow anymore. others have moved on. one thing was key with her was you HAD to prune an clean lowers in order for the main colas to shine. reminiscing over here....

star i like the looks an sounds of the d-kush....
u ever look into the procidic? started using it as a preventive. stepping up the game too an going to be building a few electrical boxes that turn the dehumidifiers on lights off only. last thing i need is more work load...

enjoying the thread as always..

That lifesaver candy taste was the mix of old school afghan and mexican. The pearl was like a time capsule of old school gems.

Here's a Pearl dom selection of a hybrid she made

Yeah, those are the seeds I have in my fridge^^. Makes some great plants, most every one had a super stink. I have 3 mullums going now, I just wanted to find another female to run the most massive single cola possible. The Mullum Pearls can throw some mean top ends as well. I have the extra space now to start up a shit load of new seeds so I'm going at it today. Looking forward to seeing some of the Nevils Blueberry F2's as well, sometimes the second generation has the gems.

There's an old local sensi silver haze around here , a nice 12 week plant. A few years back I found a seed in her that produced a silver pearl leaning plant that is much faster than the mom, and much more indica in habit and flower time @ 9 wks. It doesn't have the incensey smell of the mom.It has a really loud mixed fruit smell with sharp organge citrus pine thing going on. Kushy on he exhale. Very nice and flavorful smoke(mostly up). It did really well outdoors last season too, outweighed the rest.

Mmm... "citrus pine". That's the ticket. Not because of the flavor necessarily, but the high I get from those types.

Still searching for that old Pine Cone plant I once had.

Huh. Funnily enough I have some seeds marked as Early Pearl. I'm gonna have to look for more info on them from who I got them from. Any idea on the traits of it?

I believe Early Girl was Afghani x Mexican. The good one that someone turned me on to had nice big fat Afghani looking buds but much less leafy. The effects were mostly Mexican, a very happy cerebral high. Those cerebral highs usually make me want to get up and go. This high allowed me to kick back and yet my mind was reeling.

My understanding is that Early Pearl is Early Girl crossed to another Mexican strain, perhaps making those special phenos easier to find. I never tried Early Pearl. Others on this thread probably have more experience with it.

Hope this helps.

Thinking back to when we were determining the ancestry of Early Pearl we figured out that Early Girl was crossed to an early Mexican clone named "pollyana". I'm likely wrong on the spelling but it was something like that. Always wished I'd had a shot at running that one outside but at the time I had it, it was too risky to have an indoor and an outdoor at the same time, at least where I live.:)
This Orange Kush turned out to be a beast. Today is day 50 more or less and she's looking really nice.:woohoo:

One of the lower branches on the plant next to my T5 rack. Considering that I flipped these plants at 18", they ended up pretty big.:)

I used to run Early Pearl outside. Huge plants, with huge purple buds. Smelled great, with a muskiness to it. Not very potent though. I preferred the slow growing Afghani #1 we had at the time.

This EP G-man had was pretty good so far as potency goes but when I hybridized it with MS5 most of the plants were not strong enough to meet the market demands so I used 4 males from the EP X MS5 and crossed them to the Corey Stardawg and that put the bump into them. Most every plant was a keeper more or less, we had a #1, a#3, #4 and a #9. The 3&4 were huge yielders while the #1 were more spear shaped and had a hazy smell infiltrated with that Stardawg whoomph. A few times I visited G-man and his nets were just straining under the load, he can really lay it down, believe it!
We moved on from those plants though and into a few of the Glue crosses. Under the current circumstances a good Glue hybrid is going to be a better choice than straight Glue only due to market saturation although the Glue by itself still fascinates me as a grower, trimming it can mesmerize you into staring at the shear load of resin and the crazy smell. I have seen some Glue from other sources and if it was 10 yrs ago it would have been nice but as usual it looked like most CO dispo herb, cut early, trimmed terribly and had shake in the bag.
The worst bag of weed I ever bought, which includes the parking lots of sleazy Ca beaches, was from a dispo Pagosa Springs. It was worse than brickweed. I'm quite sure however that the black market holds the quality in that area because only prisoners would smoke what I bought...
This is the Glue hybrid I run, it's much like a mix between Tahoe and SFV, underestimate it at your peril...;-)

This is a Tahoe lower branch I pulled this morning while I was cutting out larfy stuff. I took the picture to show how much alike the flowers were in comparison to my GG#4 cross above. The smells are much different, the GG#4 cross smells more like SFV with a whiff of garlic from the Glue. The Tahoe is only @ day 45 or so, so imagine how similar they'll be when blown out. It's all for fun, the days can become boring no matter how enthusiatic you might be.:)
I started 3 different Nevils Blueberry crosses this week and all of the seeds that popped are above ground in 1" rw cubes. 3 out of 30 didn't pop yet and it's been 5 days...Looking to cross the Lucifer X Nevils Blue to the Glueberry, see what comes of it. A man has to keep his mind busy somehow!
