Neptune's Breakdown

N

Neptune

Been busy taking care of my outdoor ladies, and making hash with my new set of bubblebags... the 20 gallon set is more my size. I am working on my methods, but the first run yeilded about 40g of high grade bubble... mmmm!!!

Here is a pic of the Nexus that overgrew my growroom, they are stretching thier legs outdoors, and man... would they LOVE to be in the ground... I can forsee some amazingly fat girls if they were grounded in full sun...too bad they only get my balcony. :badday:

9807nexus.JPG

I changed the reservoir's yesterday in the room, everything is moving smoothly, although a little on the hot side... using that AC full time during the stretch, which should be over by the weekend. The coco tables use a lot of water, I have had to topup the reservoir with about 25 gallons of water over the 17 days since the last changeout, while the other reservoirs did not require topups. The coco potted plants are also some of the biggest plants I have ever grown indoors,SR71 HKxSK is a champion, and I can now say for sure it is not the same as the CARE Pot of Gold I hold. The CARE Pot of Gold smells like .... heaven!!! ;) The HKxSK can do with about 3-4 days veg from well rooted clone, very fast and vigerous... would be an excellent BIGGREEN strain to run.

I will get pics of the room later, but I am really pleased with the progress so far. Also, I threw up 2 SR71 mystery clones that were freebies thinking they were Purple Kush, they are actually SR71 Black Widow and that is certain. So, I will have some growing and smoking reports on 3 SR71 strains now. The Widow looks nice so far. I have kept a mother so if she works out, she may get some more lovin'. No signs of PM. I killed that bastard.

Hydrojunkie
I don't see any reason to ebb and grow in coco pots filled with coco. You really want Hydroton/silica/lava rock for this job. Hydroton is perfect, and this system is hands down the bomb!! So fucking easy... so fuckingeasy...

Just think.. "SoQuick"

Looking good in there Tune. How you liking those ditigal ballast's? I find that they run alot less heat and about 20% lower electrical usage too, plus they don't make that damm buzzing noise!
Those Hinduxskunk are looking like beasts. I hope that they don't get to tall by the end. Also are you noticing a difference without having the Co2 running?
Looks great and I am going to pull up a chair and relax for a few.....

How are the HK's on feeding? Are they heavy feeders?

I've got Ody and HK going and the HK aren't looking as healthy.

Ive been running the same EC for both. .6-.8 EC veg.

The Ody's look perfect, but the HK's look a lil underferted.

Yours look greener than mine. LOL

Liking the thread man. Those 20 gallon bubblebags must be a bitch to lift!

Hey N, cool grow thread, I like the chance to compare styles. I am in fabrication today on my ebb n flo system, 15 buckets, 3 rows, redundant feed lines to both sides of each bucket, drilling is next on today's list. Do you have any tips on your build? I found 4 inch electric ties that fit the half inch barbed fittings over the tube like they were part of a kit. Did you use sealer on all tubing? And did ya have any leaking to fix in the run up testing?

Also, I run FNB/FLB at the lucas ratio, 1/3 addback, and it seems that you are roughly half that starting strenght. Would you share your thinking and what you are seeing to advise an old fool? Thanks, happy buds.

neptune heres a idea for ya. How about replacing the rockwool slabs with canna coco slabs or canna cogr slabs. When your finished with them you can recycle them in your outdoor garden to ammend soil or use as mulch. check it out at www.canna.com

Don`t know how I missed this one Nept..........I`m witcha on that nasty-ass rockwool shit.....Works great but yas can`t do a damn thing with it after each grow cept toss it but WHERE?......Landfill I guess ,dunno.........I`m so sure you`ll fall in love with the ebb and flow buckets like I have..........Absolutely "plug and play"....... They practically run themselves........They also accomodate ALL my lava left over from my krusty buckets and GH nutes work wonders like they always have......Man that sux bout yer PM on them precious buds and hey PICO........Where`s that Santa Fe dehuey at?..........Mine uses shitpots of electricity, but I`ve been able to keep RH down in the high 40`s with major air exchange during late flower.....Tell me about this duct muffler thingy as I`ve been usin pantyhose for so long I would`nt know howta act with a real filter and muffler setup.......Anyways....I wanted to stop in and say thanks for all the knowledge, pics, and experience you post up for us newbsters.....Great work my buddy...BTW.......5 gallon coco buckets top fed drain to waste arranged around vertical bare bulbs is VERY lucrative as well.......Peace......DHF....... :joint:

25 Days Bloomin'

25 Days Bloomin'

I'm back! So who else went to Reggae this year? :rasta:

The girls didn't miss me at all, just the way I like our relationship.

Here we have the verticle setup...
9807vert25d.JPG

and some notes thus far... I think it would be better if the plants in this style of verticle setup were vegged vertically. They need to develope this way in order to make better colas. We'll see by the end how I do, but I think the next verticle is gona be 3 gallon pots, with shorter veg, more plants, and vegged vertically right here in the bloom room. Looks good so far.

Here's the tables..
9807tables25d.JPG

The SR71 Purple Kush is looking to be a good yeilder after all, and I was thinking Ken's had her number... Perhaps it's coz the clones were healthier though.. hehe! Thumbs up for the PK, it's developing thick budz. The SR71 Hindu Skunk is on fire!! :hotbounce: I pruned her pretty good, and It was well worth it.. there are going to be some colas on theez girlies... wow!!

Here's some Purple Kush pics. Notice the leaves, definatly NOT Erkle.

And some Hindu Skunk
9807HS25d.JPG

9807HSmacro.JPG

So, 25 days on the tables and they are looking great! I have the most experience with tables, so I am expecting the best results here... and so far, this is the case... except for...

These dillywangs called Ebb&Grow buckets..
9807e_g1.JPG

4 Salmon Creeks, 2 Black Widows, and 11 bdSSH, and 1 POG. Checkout that Level-ass canopy of quality colas on the rise... holy shit! :jump: E&G is totally ****ing rad mannnn... really diggin' this. Barely trimmed any of them too... touched up a coupple but nothing serious. I'm wanting to see what they look like without any leaf/stem maintenence for future plans that don't involve plant-access or walking space. ;)

So, aparently when I planted what I thought to be Purple Kush in the E&G was actually SR71 Black Widow. I do like her so far... pleasently surprised. Not much smell at this point, but she has some of the biggest nuggets in the entire room so far. Round is a good word for her...

Black Widow

And I'll leave you with an Arcata Trainwreck that is living amungst the Hindu Skunks. She had troubble keeping up, but she at least put forth one good representative that will end up in my headstash...

My hat is off to SR71 of Oakland.

grendelkhan I am not noticing much difference without CO2 yet. The stems are always thicker with Co2, that much is clear... but as for dried yeild... ??

star crash The bubblebags has become something of a chore, but I am glad it is over. It's almost as bad as trimming really, totally unfun and a lot of work... I will be looking into dry-sieve methods for larger batches. I am glad to have the 20gal bagset though, it cut 10+ days of work down to 2 days of work, and I do mean work... 8-12 hour days..

meduser1800 I don't feed anything in my gardens above 2.0 EC, or 1000 ppm. So, I don't know if they are heavy feeders or not... but I will say, they greened up and stop the purple stem problem that I did have earlier on when I upped the Cal-Mag+ to 3ml/gal, up from 2ml/gal. also, I use a pully system for lifting the bubblebags, the bottom 2 bags probably weight about 100+ pounds when first pulling them out.

HAPS what's the haps? hehe! Hey yeah, I did have leaks becuase I used a forester 5/8" drill bit, and most PRO folks recomend a STEP conical drill bit. They are about $50.00 a pop, so don't lose those expensive bits. But yeah, I had to take it all apart and silicone everything... and bingo no more leaks. I am using the FNbloom at 8ml/gal with fulvic acid. ~5.8 PH ~2.0EC. I run a higher EC in water systems, as recomended by most. The medium(hydroton) does not really collect excess salts. the plants seem to be stoked.

Darthvapor
I may do exactly that, but so far the 2 gallon perfect pots are kicking ass. If they hit a pound a light, I see no reason to slab -- yet!

dedhedfred I concur with your coments on the 5 gallon coco pots, DTW verticle setups.. they are heavy yeilding setups for sure. I wish to do this someday too! Too many good growing styles!! I'm all about recycling and reusing my mediums, it's just sensible from all perspectives. GH nutes are the industy standard.. the most documented, stable, and road tested brand around. I am loving thier 1 part, as much as I love the 3 part. They are out with 2 new products shortly, to compete with AN and Botanicare, they will have a "Sweet"-like product, and a "Mother Earth/Pure Blend" organic tea product in the near future. I don't think I'm going to be adding anything new to the garden, though... kiss!!

thanks to everyone who has come through, the fun is starting so get your bowls packed!

Looking good :headbange
hey neptune,..would you mind explaining how the ebb buckets are being fed and how often?

are you using a DIY controller with float stops like the multi flow uses, or just pumps on timers?

Im pretty sure im going to build a system like this after I chop,...My back is killing me from watering with a wand daily :wallbash:

that hkxsk1 is hittin my lights too,...real vigorous strain!

Hey Neptune........Harborfreight.com has those stepdown drills for peanuts as long as you don`t need above 3/4"........3 different bits 1/4 " drive for $9.99........They also have 2 different bits that go all the way up to 1 3/8" but that`s $ 29.99...........The best thing about these are that they`re titanium nitride coated and de-burr the holes as they drill to make shit leak-free up front...........Tryin to help.......Peace.....DHF......... :joint:

So cool to see your results with multiple styles Neptune, all in one space! I've had my best results (in coco) with FN Grow and Bloom, too. I like the one-part aspect.

Especially interested in SR-71's Hindu Kush. The Pot of Golds I grew awhile back were very prone to PM, so I'm wondering how these ladies will compare. Probably a non-issue with your preventive measures--though I'm still curious to hear how you think they compare.

Good growings, I'll be watching this one!

Great thread Neptune...all of the plants are looking topnotch  Glad you like the vertical setup....I think you're onto something regarding vegging vertical...I wish I had the space lol
How long of a flowertime is that Nexus cut you got?

Thanks for those Redwood shots....love it up that way
