Can i finish a pure equatorial Plant easyer if i start them like very early in January , February indoors? Can i shift the Harvest Date to the earlyer?? Wanna grow Thai at 45North

I'm not Dubi, but I can easily answer since I live in those latitudes: it depends on where you live, on the microclimate, by sowing in May I brought tropical varieties such as Honduras and green haze x thai to the end of flowering without too many problems, purple haze x thai and oldtimer haze were more difficult as they were harvested in early January ...
However, I am aware that it is thanks to my particular microclimate that the most difficult month here is November due to rain and above all fogs combined with the first frosts, a few km further east or west and everything changes ....

Latitude itself doesn’t really mean anything. New-York city and Napoli are the same and the climate is not really the same between the two... The former is temperate/continental whereas the later is Mediterranean.

@benovit i know that , the Moderate-Climate Line isnt totally Straight, and yes in US its bit warmer at same Latitude.

Photos taken on the solstice. I'll post some current pictures this weekend to give an idea of growth rate. Given the day length I'm pretty impressed how fast they are growing. If I was growing these earlier in the season I would definitely have to train or prune to keep in check. Also, in the past few days the leaves have stretched and are quite narrow and elegant.

The color in the second picture is off, they all are about the same healthy green color.

Well I got busy and didn't get around to posting some follow up photos. These are from 9/25, about 4 days after solstice. The plants were growing quite rapidly at this point. Very Sativa. Thin leaflets, long internodes, very flexible stems, light green in color.











Sorry photos are sideways, not feeling patient enough to mess with them this time. If anyone can let me know why this site wants to rotate photos, I'd love to know.

Some follow up on that seedling...

A little early, but feel like female to me. 3 days to declare sex, that was damn fast...

Looks like Nepal Annapurna x Nepal Mist and Nepal Mist x Nepal Annapurna flowering together is happening

Way faster to break shell this time, sowed it last Wednesday evening and it was up this afternoon

Finger crossed for a female... Maybe I keep the male to inbred one generation sometime later, I still have a father plant.

Felt wrong... Looks like another male after some development of those preflowers. I'll leave under the light a couple more days to be 100% sure but I don't think there is any doubt. I'm starting next session early December so I think it's a bit close to start looking for another female in the two remaining seeds. I could run them, but I don't want to end up with 2 females and no remaining seed. So I feel no choice but to delay those two as I really want to flower them together.

Well, it's not like I don't have enough strains to find 2 replacements. I feel some more Oaxaca incoming

There is a saying in French "il n’y a que les imbéciles qui ne changent pas d’avis" (Only the imbeciles doesn’t change their mind), so yeah, I’m giving her a third chance (fourth actually if I count the vanished one first try)... Hopefully, it won’t be too far behind the cuts of Orient Express, Kali China and Nepal Mist x Nepal Annapurna I started a couple days ago.

Doobieduck was kind enough to share some pictures of his Annapurna outdoor harvest.

Very happy to start receiving feedback and to see such good results and resinous buds from this new 2020 pure landrace release

Interesting to be able to compare in his last picture the pure Annapurna structure and size (the one labeled at the back right side of the picture) with other hybrid strains in the garden. He reported the Annapurna survived a few nights with -5ºC temps in late flowering.

Nepal Annapurna x Nepal Mist male full flower mode, probably ready for pollen harvest? I don't know, never did let males go that far in flowering...

First off, Doobieducks plants look outstanding!

A few new pics of my plants. They were started quite late, with the intent of seed production, but I got all females. So the the light intensity and duration is not optimal at this time of year, but still the flowers are smelling nice.

With the late start, overall the flowers are pretty loose and are now developing slowly. Purple coloration starting to develop with mostly sunny weather, most nights in the mid 30's, days in the low 60's.

Two variations, Hard to describe, but pretty unique. One, sweet, fruity, juniper berry and aromatic mediteranean herbs overall reminiscent of hash, the other, more sour, citrus, mediteranean herbs, juniper, and rubber with a slight note of eucalyptus, again overall reminiscent of hash.

How am I supposed to harvest pollen? I tried today breaking a branch and "slap" it in a bleached container, except breaking the flowers, nothing is getting out of them and I haven't seen any pollen dropping on the leaves either neither did I notice any seed developping on Purple Honduras Haze, Golden Tiger 3 and Nepal Mist x Nepal Annapurna. Kinda lost here and it's freezing at night now, plants have seen better days. Lots of green still but "downy" leaves.

Well I harvested Nepal Mist x Nepal Annapurna on Christmas day at 55°N and smoking early samples. I have a good feeling about that one , I feel the high already and some spicey/fruity note in the background. High might actually be stronger than what is described for Nepal Mist and Nepal Annapurna. Felt like a rush of clear high in my brain a couple minute ago. And it's only from outside with a not so clement Autumn, can't wait to see what she will do indoor. Nepal Annapurna x Nepal Mist are slowing reaching sexual maturity so flowering should start pretty soon .
