I had that exact fan running my dual 15x24x66 cabinets for a couple years, and it worked fine, for whatever that's worth to you. To the point that I recently upgraded to the next highest Panasonic Whisperline (250 I think?), and it really hasn't made much more than a 2-3 degree difference. And that's with a combined, uncooled 650W HPS, so I think the 150 CFM should do you fine, if you're using a single cab with fluoros. They're great fans, and quiet.

...that said, if you do the example DIY scrubber build using one of the ceiling fans, the fan will necessarily have to be located inside your cabinet, and will therefore be eating into your already tight 48" headway. I'd give serious consideration to the Vortex/scrubber in a tub on top, as mentioned above...though most 400 CFM centrifugal fans are far from stealthy. Likewise, when the subject of Hempy buckets came up, I kinda stutter at the thought of growing in a 12" (or so) bucket if you've only got 48" of headspace....it might be tight (especially if the fan's in there too), though a vert setup might give you some leeway in that regard.

Thanks for the help bro. I would have thought 48" is pretty tall, considering that I'm not going to get 36" of penetration with 220 watts of pl-l? Yeah, was planning to build that scrubber attached to the fan and stick in the top of the cab...that should still leave me with 30-36" below the lights, plants trained to be about 12-18" in height plus pots, that leaves about 6" inches between plants and lights seems perfect...no? I could do the rubbermaid scrubber on top of the cab and the fan inside, that would save a few inches if needed.

Yeah, you should be fine, I was just being overly cautious. I've actually got a flowering chamber that's 38" tall in one of my cabs, and I still don't have to do much training at all, but there's no electronics in that chamber to adjust for, and I don't do any vegging in my SoG. Good luck!

Thanks thesloppy.

So I got my bulbs today, and when I plug it into the socket the overall length is about a
1/4" longer than the width of my cab...so I either have to make a mod to the cab or re-visit the vertical setup. My reservation about making a 4 bulb column in the center, is that the back of the lamps are going to be directing light into the backs of the other lamps...so some light loss...does that make sense? Thats whats preventing me from jumping into a vert setup.

So I grabbed a 150 cfm panasonic whisper fan, I'm starting to think it's overkill...and the air noise is going to be louder so I'm prolly gonna grab a 110 or 80 cfm instead...most likely 110.

Speed controllers are nice. My Elicent 4" 150 CFM is overkill for my little cab, but with the speed controller, I'm able to dial it in to keep temps steady within a few degrees.

That was my original plan, then I re-read the thread on panasonic whisper fans and they are not compatible with speed controllers...so I really need to find the ideal size.
